The fact that it needs to be refrigerated is quite inconvenient. Without a cosmetic refrigerator... As a The Ordinary product, the scent has an honest chemical smell.
And since it's not available in Olive Young, offline testing is difficult. This was one of the more highly-rated The Ordinary products, but it seems to be not very well-known, which is a shame.

The Ordinary oil formulation is difficult to use as it feels sticky and is hard to absorb for those with oily skin. However, the emulsion version absorbs well and has a clean finish. It is also not overly irritating, so it would be a good option for oily skin types who want to start using retinol.

Using it together with Retirides was even better! However, in this case, there could be a lot of irritation on the skin, so I only used Retirides about 3-4 times a week.

1. Storage
They recommended refrigerating it, so I stored it in the fridge, but this was a bit of a hassle.. However, this is not enough of a drawback to hesitate purchasing.

2. Packaging
It's a dropper-type container, and I've spilled it a few times because there's no cap.

3. Night care use
This isn't a drawback at all! Since it's retinol, you can't use it in your morning routine. Just apply a generous amount at night before bed.

I was interested in anti-aging and looked around on YouTube, and bought this product based on a recommendation, and I was satisfied!

1. Absorption👍
It's a moderately thin yellow serum, and what I particularly liked was that the absorption was really good! When I applied it to my dry skin and patted it in, it was quickly absorbed, and even after applying other toners and the like, it didn't leave much stickiness after a few more pats.

In fact, I had used the same brand's retinol product before, and that one was oil-based, so the absorption wasn't good and it had a bit of a floating feeling. But this product had a nice, absorbed feeling.

2. Fragrance
It had a slightly musty..? soy milk-like scent, and I think it could be divisive. But I like healthy scents, so I actually liked it more!

3. Effectiveness
I used it together with Retirides. I have combination skin, and the outer parts of my face tend to get dry and flaky, but when I used Retirides and an emulsion as my night care, my face would be even more moisturized the next day!

4. Oiliness
Since it's for night care, the oiliness didn't bother me much, but when I woke up the next day, there was quite a bit of oil around my nose area. However, it wasn't the kind of oil that clogs pores and causes blackheads, but more of a barrier-like feeling, which I liked.

Apply a serum before the emulsion for an amplified effect!

The only downside is that the container doesn't have a cap, so it opens up all the way when you open it.

I recommend this to beginners with retinol! The first application may feel a bit stinging, but it gets better with continued use. It absorbs well and leaves you with a glowing complexion the next day when you apply a moisturizer.

I'm also using the products recommended as a set for aging-related concerns, and the combination works well.
In the evenings, I use two of them together.

The Granactive Retinoid was the best alternative for me, who suffered from skin irritation while using a 1% retinol product.
Compared to retinol, it has almost no irritation, but the skin texture immediately becomes smoother, and since it is an emulsion type, it is absorbed without any stickiness, and it also helps control excessive sebum, in addition to actually helping with blemish care. If you have aversion to retinol or experience side effects, I recommend trying it.

I think it's great that I can mix and match Ordinary products, and if you have a device, using it with that would be even better!

I didn't experience any breakouts, and I thought the price was affordable, so I ended up using it quite liberally :)

My dry and sensitive skin didn't experience much irritation, and I was able to use it in combination with other products, which I found to be quite good.

I'm using it twice a week, and be sure to apply sunscreen the next day. It's best to use it with a soothing product as well.

The blackheads do seem to have reduced a bit, but since I'm using other products as well, I can't fully attribute that to this one.

The day after using it, my skin is so smooth and supple without any flakiness, making my cleansing routine feel great.
It's not as drying as I had worried, given that retinol products are known to be drying and irritating. The initial slight irritation only lasted the first day I used it, and I haven't experienced any since.
My blemishes have been quickly cleared up. Even though I didn't have much trouble with acne when I was a student, I would still get the occasional breakout as an adult, which was stressful. But since using this, I haven't had a single blemish.

After applying, your cheeks start to feel warm and hot. And a few new blemishes start popping up.. Most of all, the pores on your cheeks have become significantly enlarged after using this product...ㅠㅠㅠ I wanted to effectively utilize retinol for anti-aging, but it's not been easy.

When you wake up after applying the product, it can be difficult to distinguish whether your skin is swollen or tightened (your eyes may also feel puffy..), but your skin becomes saturated with moisture.
