After using the regular yellow-packaged Aekyung hand soap, I decided to try this one when I saw it on sale at Costco. It produces a rich lather that makes hand washing quick and effective. Compared to standard hand washes, this one seems to prioritize hydration, leaving your hands feeling moisturized. There's noticeably less dryness after use. I got a great deal at Costco with two full-size bottles plus a refill, making it quite cost-effective. The fragrance is overpowering. It's particularly problematic when cooking after washing your hands, as the strong scent lingers. I found out there's an unscented version available, but it's not easily spotted in stores. Given that fragrances aren't particularly beneficial for our bodies, I'm questioning whether I need a scented hand soap at all. I probably won't repurchase for this reason. Additionally, as shown in the photo, red mold tends to grow around the pump area. The design seems to allow water to collect easily, and despite wiping it down multiple times, the mold keeps reappearing. This is an issue that needs addressing. When choosing hand soaps, it's important to consider factors beyond just cleansing effectiveness. While this product offers good value and moisturizing properties, the strong fragrance and potential for mold growth are significant drawbacks. For those with sensitive skin or who prefer unscented products, it might be worth seeking out the fragrance-free version or exploring other options. The hygiene concern with the pump design is particularly noteworthy and something the manufacturer should look into improving. - tp*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsFeb 2, 2025
I couldn't find any positive aspects. I usually prefer other colors of The Hwahae Testers like green or yellow, but I bought this product on sale in bulk at the supermarket. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. - It's sticky While the regular line of The Hwahae Testers is fine, this premium product is sticky due to some added ingredients. Even after thoroughly rinsing my hands, there's a subtle stickiness. This is most noticeable when applying skincare products right after washing hands or when using cleansing oils for face washing. At first, I wondered why my hands felt sticky, but I realized it was because of this hand wash. I think they might have added extra moisturizing ingredients to make it a premium product. As a result, it feels like there's a thin film left on your hands after washing, causing the stickiness. - There's a strange smell when first pumping When you first pump it out, there's an unpleasant odor that rises up. It does disappear as you rub it on your hands, but it was really bothersome. I had to use about 3 bottles since I bought it in bulk, and all 3 bottles had the same issue. So it seems to be a characteristic of this product. That strong, odd smell hits you with every first pump. Due to these issues, I don't recommend this product. - bs*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessRecommendedMar 2, 2024
Among the Aye-Kkeut-Hae products, this one stands out because it's fragrance-free, allowing me to use it with complete peace of mind. I could definitely feel the hydration working its magic! There wasn't a single thing I disliked while using this product. I was extremely satisfied with it. - gk********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 1, 2024
Great value for money, and the subtle cotton scent really lifts my mood. It produces a gentle lather that's perfect for washing hands without being too harsh. The cleansing effectiveness is impressive too. The finish leaves my hands feeling a bit dry and tight, which is disappointing. It would be better if it was just a tad more hydrating. - dr**Dry SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedSep 27, 2023
The fragrance is lovely! It lathers well and comes in a generous size, so it'll last a long time! Since I wash my hands frequently, I find the moisturizing effect diminishes after use Just one pump creates a rich, luxurious lather - ju*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 17, 2023
Since the pandemic, frequent hand washing has become a habit. Regular cleansers left my hands too dry, but since using this, they're less parched. I don't even need to apply hand cream anymore! There's nothing particularly bad about it. If I had to nitpick, maybe the indentation at the bottom of the bottle? That seems unnecessary and might collect water, potentially leading to mold growth. Highly recommended for those who wash their hands often and dislike the dryness that comes with it. - go*******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresApr 6, 2023
I've used Aekyung Pure for a long time, but this Premium version is definitely more hydrating. It has the same comforting cotton scent as Pure. I love that they sell refills separately - it's economical and eco-friendly. The white container is also nice as it doesn't clash with my bathroom decor. With Pure, I never had to clean the exterior even after long-term use. However, with Premium, red mold keeps appearing around the pump area. This happened even when I switched to a new product after using refills for a while. I suspect it might be due to the design allowing water to collect. This aspect was really disappointing. - tu*********Combination SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 28, 2023
First off, I love that there are multiple scents to choose from - it's fun to pick! Just a small pump creates plenty of lather. Even if it's gentle, cleansing effectiveness is crucial, so I tested it with BB cream. I first tried wiping with toilet paper without cleanser, then used a bit of the product on the remaining makeup. It removed it well without being too diluted. Before knowing about the premium version, I used the regular one, but the clear advantage here is that it's more hydrating and less drying. If you're worried about dryness after using hand wash, this is perfect! I recommend it for those with sensitive skin and parents with babies. With COVID-19 still around, hand sanitizers are essential. Always wash your hands after going out, and I highly recommend washing before and after touching your mask. I haven't found any drawbacks while using it yet. I think I'll need to use it more to know for sure. - fv******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 17, 2022
The fragrance is absolutely delightful! I'm really satisfied with how the lather feels more rich and creamy compared to other products I've used. While it's advertised as moisturizing, I honestly couldn't tell any difference. It just feels the same as any other product to me. Personally, I prefer the cotton scent over the rose fragrance. - db**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 14, 2022
I've always used Aekyung Hand Soap. The scent is gentle and inoffensive, and it doesn't leave my hands feeling overly squeaky clean or dry. Our whole family trusts and uses it. The new packaging looks more premium too. My kids use it quite liberally, so we go through it quickly. Next time, I'll have to buy the large refill size. There's nothing particularly disappointing about this product. I've been using it consistently without any blemishes or issues.
