The scent is natural and not artificial, and the product feels refreshingly light when applied. There weren't any disappointing aspects. With consistent use, you'll notice an improvement in your hair texture. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 30, 2025
I bought this a few months ago at duty-free with some leftover foreign currency, but I was a bit disappointed. The scent wasn't my style, and the texture meant I had to wash my hands right after applying it to my hair, which made me less inclined to use it. Other Aveda products are great, though! I suppose using it is better than not using anything at all, right? Overall, it's a product that doesn't quite live up to its price. The scent is polarizing, and the texture leaves a bit of residue on your hands, so you need to use it sparingly. Apply just a small amount at a time. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 22, 2024
(An honest review after using up the entire tube with my own money) - Fresh, signature Aveda herbal scent - Clean, tube packaging that allows you to use every last drop - Absorbs well without feeling sticky - Extremely lightweight formula (minimal improvement in hair texture) - Wickedly expensive When used together with Aveda hair oil, the fragrance lingers subtly throughout the day - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinDec 4, 2023
I've been consistently using Aveda shampoo and conditioner, and this time I switched from Damage to Botanical for the first time. Personally, I preferred the herbal scent of this product over the Damage line. The texture is similar - it's like a thin emulsion, somewhere between a serum and an emulsion. This makes it easy to apply evenly and it absorbs well into the hair quickly. It's a solid choice with just the right amount of nourishment, absorbing cleanly and lightly! While it's generally a decent product, as someone with bleached and repeatedly dyed damaged hair, I felt the nourishment and hydration were a bit lacking for my hair type. To protect your hair from heat damage during the drying process, apply it to damp hair before blow-drying. For those with damaged hair like mine or very dry ends, applying a small amount after drying can help prevent tangles and improve overall feel. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 22, 2023
The fragrance is lovely. It has a slight richness that calms and softens the skin It can cause acne. Not great value for money. Lacks a bit of freshness - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 17, 2022
The scent gives a clean feeling, and I love that I don't have to rinse it out. It's like I'm constantly taking care of my hair texture. It's quite expensive... and it seems to contain more chemical ingredients than I expected. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinDec 30, 2021
I appreciate that the scent isn't too overpowering. I actually prefer the fragrance to the Damage Remedy line. Given its high price point, I'm not sure it's worth it. I can hardly tell the difference between when I've applied it and when I haven't. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 13, 2021
I love the subtle mint scent. It feels nice and clean when applied to the skin. It runs out too quickly as I use it up fast. One tube isn't quite enough, so I'm currently mixing it with other products. - Hwahae UserOily SkinDec 22, 2020
Using leave-in treatments saves so much time in the morning compared to regular conditioners that require waiting. I love how you can apply it while drying your hair. The natural, herbal scent is also delightful. Rather than providing deep nourishment, it makes your hair feel smooth and silky after application. While this can be great since you don't have to rinse it out, don't expect intense conditioning effects.
