Using it for 3 consecutive days significantly reduced itching. When I briefly used a different shampoo, I experienced more dead skin cells and itching. Returning to Folten, despite the recommendation of twice-weekly use, it felt a bit harsh with some tingling and tightness. However, due to severe flaking, I continued using it after watching YouTuber reviews saying it was okay. I also tried K-Proxs, a prescription shampoo. Other shampoos definitely cause more flaking. I'm unsure if using Folten too much prevents redness from fading, or if it's just the new skin underneath after removing dead skin cells. In October 2020, I first learned about localized seborrheic dermatitis and applied steroid ointment. From January 2021, I took antihistamines and used ointment prescribed by a dermatologist. Antibiotics were added in April. Due to poor health, I stopped medication until late May, which worsened symptoms and caused extreme itching. While this shampoo causes extreme dryness and a tingling sensation, it seems to be due to its exfoliating effect.
ConsI thought dandruff appeared in October due to dry weather. Itching intensified after taking antibiotics in April. After using Folten excessively for 3 days, another shampoo for 1 day, and then Folten again for 2 days, I noticed the chair no longer turned white while drying my hair. However, flaky patches reappear after some time. I wonder if the stinging sensation is due to the salicylic acid dissolving not just dead skin cells but also my skin. The usage instructions and ingredients are not listed on the bottle. I discarded the instruction leaflet immediately.
TipWhen the itching is extreme, the well-dissolved Malassezia-fighting ingredients are very helpful. It's effective for those struggling with excessive dandruff production, but how to address the stinging sensation is a concern. I even purchased Folten's scalp ampoule, unsure if applying an emulsion would be okay. However, I stopped using the ampoule after just one sachet due to the alcohol content causing a burning sensation.

There's a subtle, pleasant scent when shampooing. Personally, I'm not a fan of products with caps that can hurt your hands when opening, but this one opens easily without any pain.
ConsIt makes my hair stiff. Not great value for money. After washing, the scent wasn't as refreshing as I'd hoped. I have mild seborrheic dermatitis, and even after pre-washing and using this twice, dead skin cells remained on my scalp. I had high expectations, but for me, it was just an overpriced European shampoo.
TipMy scalp is combination-dry with seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.
