While it didn't make my blemishes disappear completely, it seemed to prevent them from getting worse.
ConsThe formula has a very watery consistency, and it can feel a bit drying. Applying a rich moisturizer afterwards helps to counteract this.
TipYou might find it slightly drying, so make sure to follow up with a generous layer of cream to really lock in the hydration.

It worked great for my oily skin type.
ConsI was always disappointed by the small amount. Also, the formula is quite runny, making it a bit tricky to apply.

It seems to calm my blemishes, and I'm really satisfied using it.
ConsThe texture is quite thin, so it tends to run a bit. You need to be careful when applying it to control the amount.

ConsI really miss the version before the 2X label. It's not available anywhere now, which is such a shame. The previous formula had a water-like consistency that I used generously all year round, going through countless bottles. Since the change, the texture has become stickier. Even though it seems they've added more beneficial ingredients, the soothing effect on my skin has actually decreased. It leaves a slightly sticky residue that can cause small bumps. I really wish they would bring back the previous version!

Luckily, I was chosen as a Hwahae Tester and here's my honest review after using it for about a week! Skin Type: Originally, I had [slightly sensitive + occasional blemishes + combination] skin, but recently, due to using the wrong products, it became [extremely sensitive + blemishes galore + combination]. My skin is very picky about ingredients and reacts immediately if something doesn't suit it. Ingredients: I was surprised by how incredibly simple the ingredient list was - I even doubted if it could be true! But the moment I applied it, I could feel how gentle it really was. It confirmed my suspicions that it truly doesn't contain unnecessary additives. Texture: It has a watery consistency - thicker than a toner but much lighter and thinner than typical ampoules. Because of this, it tends to run when applied, so it's best to pat it in quickly for absorption. Application: At first, it feels like it's not absorbing well, almost sitting on top of the skin. Just when you start to think it might be a bit sticky, it suddenly sinks in completely. It leaves the skin feeling adequately hydrated with a slight calming effect. The finish is more like using a hydrating toner rather than an ampoule, so it's not enough on its own - you'll need to follow up with an emulsion or cream to prevent skin from feeling tight. Blemishes: While it didn't cause my skin to flare up like before, I'm not sure if the ingredients are a perfect match for me. Compared to a week ago, my existing major blemishes have definitely calmed down, but I noticed some new small bumps appearing nearby. I'll need to use it longer to determine if this is due to the product or other factors. However, it's not bothersome or stress-inducing for me (especially considering how bad my skin was before). Actually, I noticed more improvement in skin texture than blemish control. Before using this, my skin barrier was completely compromised, leaving my skin rough and dehydrated. It was really stressful. Now, after about 10 days of use, my skin texture feels much more supple and bouncy! This improvement is very noticeable. However, be sure to check if you're compatible with Centella or Madecassoside before purchasing! Overall: My skin texture has become remarkably smooth, and I love the light hydration it leaves behind. It seems gentle on the skin, so I think I'll continue using it daily!
ConsDrawbacks: The appearance of some new small bumps, and the very runny texture that can be a bit tricky to handle. I've decided to just get used to it!
TipI've been keeping it in the fridge and using it cold, which feels really nice and refreshing. I'm thinking of trying it as a skin pack too - doesn't that sound good? I haven't tried it yet, but I'll update once I do! Currently, my skincare routine is: Morning after cleansing: [APIEU ampoule + Etude Soon Jung Barrier Cream] Evening after cleansing: [Dermatory Trouble Pore Pad + APIEU ampoule + Etude Soon Jung Barrier Cream] I think the ampoule pairs really well with the Etude cream!

The texture is almost water-like, making it easy to apply (with zero irritation) 2. It absorbs quickly, making it convenient for layering 3. It feels like it's absorbed in a firm, elastic way, and the finish is somewhat powdery(?) - it's a unique sensation, as if something's coating your skin while also feeling like you've applied nothing at all. I loved that it wasn't sticky 4. Even though I have sensitive skin, it didn't cause any blemishes, so it felt gentle 5. I enjoyed the slight cooling effect when applying 6. Although it doesn't contain whitening ingredients, it seemed to brighten my skin slightly from about the 8th day of use, perhaps due to its soothing and hydrating effects
Cons1. While the water-like texture glides on smoothly, I found it inconvenient when trying to apply it by area using the dropper, as it would quickly run down my face 2. It absorbs quickly, and after a while, it feels like you haven't applied anything at all. While it spreads well, it gave me the impression of evaporating somewhat, and dry areas still felt tight. (This was when using this product alone)
TipGiven it's an ampoule + has a thin texture + dries quickly, it's best to apply it early in your skincare routine. Also, since it absorbs well and quickly, and as mentioned above, can feel dry after a while, it might be good to apply your next skincare product when this one is slightly less than fully absorbed (I've been doing this, following up with an emulsion, and it's been working well for me) For those with dry skin, you might benefit from applying two layers

It's fascinating how it absorbs instantly despite initially feeling like it might not. Absorption power is excellent - over time, it disappears completely without any stickiness. Recommended for super sensitive skin. The volume is generous - the glass bottle may look deceptive, but remove the sticker and you'll see there's plenty. The product design is great - the soft dropper bulb draws up a good amount, and dispenses completely in one go, enough to cover your whole face. The dropper isn't stiff when removing from the bottle. The formula has a water-like consistency. It's fragrance-free and colorless. The ingredients are trustworthy with 99.9% Centella Asiatica extract and 1,000ppm Madecassoside.
ConsHydration is lacking - you'll need to apply a separate moisturizer. For combination dehydrated skin like mine, the U-zone gets very dry when using just this serum and toner in hot weather, requiring multiple applications which can be a bit inconvenient. The glass bottle makes it feel delicate and somewhat heavy to handle. Be careful not to tip it over as the water-like formula will spill easily. There's a small gap between the cap and the bottle body, which seems unusual. While highly recommended for super sensitive skin, those without sensitivity or need for skin soothing might not find it necessary. For combination or dry skin types, more hydration will be needed in the upcoming fall and winter.
TipQuick review: Excellent for skin soothing, but don't expect much hydration. 100% would repurchase if you have blemishes or redness. It's a great product for hot summer days.

The absorption is fantastic - just a little rubbing spreads it easily across your entire face. It absorbs well, so you can use it right after cleansing. Being fragrance-free, it's great for those with sensitive noses. There don't seem to be many harsh ingredients, so it should be suitable for sensitive skin too. If you're dealing with blemishes, you might notice a soothing effect when you use this. The best part is probably the affordable price for such a generous amount. I didn't feel any oiliness after use, making it perfect for summer. It's a popular item with lots of buzz, and I'm happy to say it lived up to my expectations!
ConsThe formula is quite runny, so if you accidentally drop a bit on your face, it quickly drips down. After absorption, you might feel a slight tightness and dryness over time. Using this ampoule alone might not be enough for hydration, especially for those with dry skin. To avoid dryness, you need to apply more, but because it's so runny, you'll go through the product quickly. Another downside is that it can feel a bit sticky if you use too much.
TipTry using it as a mask by soaking cotton pads and placing them on your face. Also, before applying makeup, focus on applying and letting it absorb into dry areas - this helps your makeup go on more smoothly.

It seemed to help calm some redness and blemishes too, which made me like it even more!
ConsBecause it spreads like water, it tends to run a lot, and more of it flows off than what you actually apply to your skin.

But this unusually hot summer led to terrible blemishes and excess oil production. So I was on the hunt for a lighter serum... And I'm happy to say I found it! It applies smoothly without any stickiness, absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave an oily residue or shine. I'm very satisfied. Oh, and I love the clean ingredient list - no unnecessary additives!
ConsFor a serum, I found the consistency disappointing. I typically expect serums to be thicker than essences but thinner than toners, but this product is closer to a toner in texture. When you use the dropper to apply it to your face, it runs down almost immediately. While it seems adequate for general skin maintenance and soothing, I don't think it would be sufficient to calm severely irritated skin.
TipFor those with dry skin but excess oil production, try this: after applying the serum, put a small amount of moisturizer on your palms, rub them together, then gently press and pat it onto your skin. This method provides lightweight hydration and works well under makeup too!
