If you need more coverage, add some powder foundation on top - it absorbs beautifully and your makeup sits wonderfully. Those with somewhat sensitive skin might want to be cautious about certain ingredients that could be concerning. With just this and sunscreen, you can achieve a natural, bare-faced look. It does brighten the complexion. The product absorbs well and is reasonably priced. The scent is overwhelmingly strong. It's like a concentrated version of that typical harsh 'mom's cosmetics' smell. It's so intense it makes me nauseous. When applied with hands after skincare, it pills.

You'll need to apply your skincare products thoroughly to avoid any pilling or uneven application. It sets to a matte finish! It creates a great canvas for applying base makeup. For the best brightening effect, massage it in and then pat with a puff to finish. Think of it as a brightening moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling more hydrated underneath. Highly recommended for cool-toned dry skin! Although it's a pink-based brightening moisturizer, it somehow makes my face look a bit warm and tanned. Still, I love the texture, so I use it frequently. Can't use this in summer because it feels too rich. While the Hanskin brightening moisturizer works for spring, summer, and fall, this product is best suited for fall and winter use. If you have dry skin, though, you might be able to use it year-round.

As a brightening moisturizer serum, it lives up to its name by evening out the skin tone while maintaining hydration. I love glowy makeup, and with 'water' in the product name, I was expecting a super hydrating, dewy finish.
