I have dry, sensitive skin. This product is absolutely terrible. First off, I checked the ingredients on Hwahae and there are many problematic ones. I tried the large sample size, and the texture is just weird. True to its 'whipped cream' name, but not in a good way. It's not smooth, and when applied, it doesn't melt into the skin or adhere well. Instead, it feels like it's creating a film... It's like spreading cheap, melted chocolate. Absolutely awful. There's no particular scent, and the hydration is poor. I applied it before bed, and in the morning, my eyes were extremely puffy. I'm not sure which ingredient caused it, but this was the only change in my skincare routine, so it must be this product. I never want to use it again. Lacks hydration. Strange and unfamiliar texture. Poor ingredients. Caused eye puffiness, though I'm not sure which ingredient is responsible. Did you know that Japanese cosmetics often contain more preservatives due to the higher humidity in Japan? While this isn't necessarily bad for everyone, it doesn't seem to work well for sensitive skin types like mine. I think it's much better to opt for good quality domestic products. - ps****Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresJan 18, 2025
It's a white cream with a unique texture that's a bit grainy or powdery. It doesn't absorb well, so you need to rub it in several times. It can leave your skin feeling a bit dry. - ye*******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 10, 2024
I received a large sample and tried it out - the texture is really unique! True to its name 'Whip Shield Cream', it has an airy, foam-like consistency. Initially, I thought it might pill when applied, but surprisingly it absorbs well without any pilling. It's truly fascinating. I haven't tried layering it under sunscreen during the day though. It seems to focus more on moisturizing rather than hydration. However, it doesn't feel overly rich or greasy. It has that signature Sekkisei skincare cotton scent, which makes application a pleasant experience. Since it's more focused on moisturizing than hydration, there isn't much difference whether you apply a thick or thin layer. This means you need to ensure good hydration in your previous skincare steps. While the unique texture and feel are nice, it doesn't seem to have any standout functional benefits, which makes it feel a bit pricey. At this price point, I'd probably just go for the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream instead. The Sekkisei brand is only available online, but if you time it right, you can sometimes find great deals on SSG or Lotte ON with lots of freebies and discounts, plus additional card discounts for a much better price. Currently, there's only a 10% discount, but in the past, they've had regular discounts of up to 25%. It's likely they'll have bigger sales again in the future, so it might be worth waiting and combining coupons and card discounts for the best deal.
