  It helps reduce skin heat, but that's the only positive thing about it.

  Cons

  It stings when applied. This doesn't calm the skin at all and only leaves blemishes behind. It's very hit-or-miss - when I pat it in, it pills up. At first, I thought I had bought a peeling gel and had to double-check the product name. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this to anyone except those with very thick skin.

  Cons

  Personally, I'm not a fan of fragranced skincare products, and this one had a strong lemon scent. I experienced slight eye irritation and a bit of tingling around the eye area and T-zone. After applying my usual barrier cream on top, the dryness and tingling sensation disappeared.

  A gel-type soothing cream is essential for summer. I bought the tube version and used it well throughout last summer. As soon as you apply it, you can feel your skin temperature dropping! It also creates a light moisturizing barrier, which worked well for my combination dehydrated skin.

  Cons

  The inclusion of fragrance is a downside. Also, on days when my skin condition isn't great, it can sting a bit (only on areas where I've squeezed small blemishes or have minor wounds).

  Tip

  For the perfect summer oil and moisture balance, start by generously patting on a watery toner, then layer a thin coat of hyaluronic acid serum, and finish with this soothing cream.

  As soon as I applied it, I felt a tingling sensation on my skin. While I'm prone to redness, this product dramatically increased it. My face also had a burning sensation. I'd recommend checking the ingredients carefully before purchasing to ensure they suit your skin.

  Cons

  I couldn't feel the soothing effect of azulene. It stings quite a bit when applied to sensitive skin. It seems all Real Barrier products, whether it's the soothing cream or moisturizer, have some irritation...

  Tip

  It's great for mixing with retinol or high-concentration niacinamide when applying them.

  Pros

  I've tried a few other soothing creams, but they always left a sticky residue, so I didn't use soothing creams much. This product absorbs cleanly without any stickiness, so it was easy to apply before makeup. The scent is a refreshing citrus, like lemon or herbs, and it has a subtle fragrance that isn't overpowering. My skin is prone to redness and easily gets irritated, but when I apply this at night, the redness calms down by morning. It's also helping to improve my blemishes, so I'm very satisfied with the results.

  The only downside is that on my most sensitive skin days, it can feel slightly stinging. I also think it would have been better without any fragrance. Since I generally don't like jar-type creams for hygiene reasons, a tube format would have been preferable as well.
