I used to mainly use the brown bottle, but after trying this product, I loved it so much that I snagged it during a sale on iHerb! I've tried other bakuchiol products, but this one's my favorite! The ingredients are better than retinol, and it's safe to use during pregnancy, so I plan to use it consistently in my evening routine. You need to shake it before use, and it has a runny texture. After application, there's a non-suffocating oily feel that might be hit or miss for some. That's why I recommend using it in the evening! The scent might not be everyone's cup of tea either. Make sure to shake it well! - eu**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 30, 2024
As a retinol and retinal enthusiast, I've been using this product for over a year since moving to a seaside town with intense sunlight and getting into outdoor activities. I was stressed about using retinol with sunscreen, so I sought a gentler anti-aging product I could use consistently. 1) Despite being an oil, its absorption is incredible! The moment it glides on your face, you know you'll keep buying it. 2) It leaves a matte finish without greasiness, even on my oily skin. I can layer both chemical and mineral sunscreens over it without issues. 3) It's much less irritating than retinol. I even tried applying extra to test its effectiveness - there was a slight tingle, confirming it works! 4) It's fantastic mixed with a light moisturizer. I've been mixing it with an inexpensive basic emulsion, and I've been so satisfied that I haven't looked at other skincare for 5 months. The price is the only downside. I stock up when it's on sale at iHerb, but it's still pricey for the amount you get. Despite this, I'll keep purchasing it. Mixing a few drops with a light moisturizing emulsion eliminates the need for most other skincare. When I notice uneven skin texture, I apply a thin layer of the oil directly on my face for smoothness. It works exceptionally well when used alongside madecassoside-based products (like toners). - bo********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 30, 2024
The next morning when I wash my face, it feels incredibly smooth. The product is separated into an oil layer and a serum layer, and perhaps due to the oil content, it seems to improve skin texture. While it helped with blemishes, I'm not sure about its individual effectiveness as I used it alongside other cica products (though I still have 3 bottles left...). It may speed up skin cell turnover, which could be irritating for some, but it worked well for my super sensitive skin. It's a bit of a hassle having to remove the cap, squeeze the dropper, and then shake the bottle again due to the separated layers. People who dislike rich textures might not enjoy this. After applying, it feels like the serum absorbs into the skin while the oil creates a protective layer on top, leaving a slightly oily residue when touched. Also, because it's such a popular product, the price often increases and it frequently goes out of stock, making it difficult to purchase. I apply this product as the last step in my routine without using a cream. If you have oily skin, using an emulsion or cream on top might feel too heavy. I apply this after my toner and serum. - sa*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 19, 2023
While it feels a bit rich on application, I've been using this product since spring. I'm on my second bottle now and haven't experienced any blemishes. After using this, my makeup doesn't absorb well and tends to separate on my skin. - ze****Dry SkinRecommendedApr 20, 2023
Great for dry skin types. It leaves a slightly oily finish, and the moisturizing effect lasts for a long time. My cheeks and chin tend to get dry easily, but on days when I use this, my skin stays hydrated all day long. I'm currently avoiding using it on areas that produce a lot of oil. Perhaps due to its rich texture, I occasionally notice blemishes appearing (when applied to areas that tend to get oily). I recommend applying a drop or two to dry areas, gently patting it in. It's best to avoid using it on areas that tend to produce excess oil. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2022
Despite containing oil, it absorbs quickly and doesn't feel sticky. The dropper is too short for the bottle, making it inconvenient to use up all the product. Also, there can be leakage from the cap. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 28, 2022
It absorbs well! It's quite similar to other hydrating serums available in the market. I know someone who's also using this product and they're satisfied with it! Since it's an international shipment, I'd recommend buying it from places like iHerb instead of here. - te*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsSep 7, 2022
I need to quit either the community board or Instagram, or I'll go broke! After seeing posts from ex-dermatology clinic staff recommending this, I bet many of you bought it too. I did the same. I usually buy supplements and skincare basics from iHerb, but this was out of stock for so long that I ended up paying extra through personal sellers. My skin is naturally dry and fair, but summer sun and aging brought some blemishes. I used to use Vitamin C products regularly, but stopped due to oxidation issues, tingling, and a metallic smell. Retinol was too drying and supposedly risky with sun exposure, so I tried using LED devices instead. Bakuchiol is said to be stable in sunlight and tackles wrinkles, brightening, and firmness all at once, so I gave it a try. It's a two-phase product with a blue oil layer and a lemon-colored liquid that you shake before use. It's more oily than expected, so a little goes a long way for hydration. Even with my dry skin, 3-4 drops are enough, so it might feel heavy for oily skin types. This one product can handle moisturizing too. The bottle is small, but you don't need much. 1. Scent: I'm not sure if other bakuchiol products are like this, but there's a reason the smell is infamous. It's like a grassy scent, but really pungent. Maybe it's because there are no added fragrances or ingredients... anyway, it's embarrassing to think someone else might smell it. That's why I only use it at night when sleeping. 2. Effectiveness: Maybe it's because my skin is already fair, or maybe it's not working, but I can't see any brightening effects. My blemishes seem unchanged too. 3. Pimples: Ironically, it's causing blemishes! Even though I have dry skin, maybe because it's so oily, after not using it for a few days, small pimples pop up on my forehead, chin, and cheeks - the kind that burst when you touch them. They're not infected, but it seems my skin doesn't agree with this product. It provides enough hydration even if you only apply this after your toner or skin. - ys*****Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 15, 2022
It seems to have a beneficial effect on reducing redness associated with blemishes. The downside is that it's difficult to obtain due to international shipping, and the scent isn't particularly pleasant. - cn******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 2, 2022
This product nourishes the skin and gives it a radiant glow. It really brings out the skin's texture. For dry skin, oil-based products are truly the best. The color is beautiful, and mixing it before use is a unique experience. The fragrance is subtle with a lovely floral scent. When applied around the eyes, it tends to get into them. I've been avoiding the eye area when using it.
