- Excellent cleansing effectiveness - Moisturizing without drying, suitable for scalps prone to hair loss - Surprisingly good lather - Once you get used to it, the application method is convenient It runs out faster than regular shampoo, and while it initially impressed me by relieving scalp itchiness and oiliness, it does cause some blemishes along the hairline. Also, being a liquid type, be careful as it might be tricky to control the amount at first. - ja******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsDec 6, 2024
✓ For oily scalp + prone to blemishes and itchiness - Texture| Very runny, water-like consistency. Initially seemed inconvenient, but the narrow nozzle actually makes it easier to apply directly to the scalp in sections. Lathers well and is surprisingly easy to use. Just glide it on. - Scent| Subtle bubble or foam-like fragrance, almost unscented. Not recommended for those who want a lingering pleasant scent after washing. Sometimes there's a greasy smell like from unwashed hair when drying, or occasionally an odor similar to dog food. - Cleansing effectiveness| Lathers well and rinses out easily, which made me reach for it often. However, the cleansing power is somewhat lacking. Oiliness at the crown returns quickly. This happens even with double cleansing (pre-wash + main wash). Currently alternating with my go-to I'm Shampoo. Hair doesn't feel dry after use - just average. - Repurchase| No plans to Disappointing that it doesn't cleanse well, leading to quick build-up of oiliness. Also caused scalp blemishes to appear. - ui*****Combination SkinRecommendedSep 19, 2024
I bought this after getting recommendations, and I'm impressed. As a water shampoo, it penetrates the scalp well and lathers nicely. It's especially great for those occasional itchy scalp moments. While I appreciate that it's a water shampoo, it's tricky to gauge how much to use. Also, it's on the pricier side. For best results, massage your scalp while shampooing. Don't rinse immediately - let it sit for a minute before washing it out. - si*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedApr 28, 2024
It has a water-like consistency, so it's quite fluid. Before buying, I was worried that despite its good ingredients, I might use it up too quickly given the volume. But surprisingly, the pointed nozzle prevents it from gushing out, and it lathers up incredibly well. Oddly enough, it lasts longer than expected. It doesn't cause any blemishes on my scalp, so even though I bought it hesitantly based on a recommendation, I think I'll keep using it. The only downside is that it's rarely discounted. Even on Cou***, it seems to be sold at full price. If this issue were resolved, it would be an absolutely fantastic shampoo. - xl*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 21, 2024
I bought this after seeing an Instagram ad, and I've been using the O2 Scalp Ampoule for a while now. I've dealt with dry scalp, itching, and scabs, trying everything from Nizoral to various famous scalp shampoos. But after using Alive:Lab's O2 Shampoo, I noticed a reduction in itching after just one use. Even as time passed, the urge to scratch decreased significantly. I'm continuing to use it, though I regret only buying two bottles! The liquid consistency means it might run out quickly considering the price and volume. I wish there were more sales and group buys available. - ld******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 7, 2023
I'm currently using more than 3 bottles! I just found out it's available on Hwahae too. There's this influencer or YouTuber called Han*, and thanks to them, I gave it a try and it's really great! The things I consider important when washing my hair are: it shouldn't feel stiff when rinsing, it needs to be gentle on the scalp because I have a perm, and since I have an oily scalp, I hope it doesn't leave any residue! While the smell at the crown is unavoidable (haha), I usually get blemishes and a sore, red scalp if I use the wrong shampoo. But with this one, I had none of those issues! I've found my go-to product! The opening method is a bit unusual. There's a cap, but it would be so much more convenient if it had a pump dispenser! - ti*****Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedMay 24, 2023
I loved the Alive:Lab scalp ampoule so much that I decided to try their shampoo too. I bought it expecting it to be good since it's from the same line, rather than having high hopes for scalp exfoliation. I've been using it for about six months now. Pros: 1. Unexpected cooling effect: It genuinely cools your scalp, but not in the harsh way that mentholated or cooling shampoos do (which I also like). It's more like the refreshing feeling of washing with cold water. This is partly due to the ingredients, but also a benefit of the liquid formula, which is cooler than body temperature. Combined with the cooling effect of the scalp ampoule, it's a really refreshing experience. 2. Incredible lather: Despite being a water-based shampoo, it produces an enormous amount of foam - way more than other brands. Even when I haven't washed my hair for about 4 days (when shampoo usually doesn't lather well), it still creates maximum foam from the first wash. It's amazing! 3. Gentle exfoliation without drying: I usually avoid overly gentle shampoos due to my oily scalp, but this one strikes a perfect balance. It exfoliates while maintaining scalp hydration. There's no residue, and it cleanses easily. Even though I'll use a scalp tonic or ampoule afterwards, it's really impressive on its own. 4. Unbelievably convenient packaging: Unlike most shampoo bottles that require you to open a cap, you just need to twist this one. At first, I tried to pull out the nozzle (which comes out quite easily with a bit of force), but that's not necessary - just twist! 5. Long-lasting: Even though I don't use it daily (it's a scalp shampoo after all), I still haven't finished the bottle. When you first start using it, you might think it'll run out quickly, but surprisingly, there's quite a lot in there! The price... Even with discounts, it's practically full price. Alive:Lab doesn't often have sales, so you end up paying close to retail price. While the twist cap is a great feature, I feel like they missed an opportunity in their packaging and marketing. It's so different from traditional shampoo bottles, both in the outer box and the bottle itself. They should have highlighted this more prominently in their advertising - I only realized how unique it was after reading reviews. It would be great if they emphasized this feature more in their marketing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 5, 2022
I've been using this line's ampoule so well that I confidently bought the shampoo too. Just used it for the first time, and it feels just like the ampoule. The shampoo lathers nicely. I bought it for my scalp's dead skin cells after using the ampoule for a year and then taking a break. The shampoo bottle has an interesting design, looking like a large ampoule. You need to slightly twist the small cover on top to open it and dispense the liquid. It's meant to be sprayed directly onto the scalp, so I sprayed and gently massaged it - it lathers well. Two sprays seem sufficient. Being my first time, I might have used a bit too much. After rinsing, my hair feels neither slippery nor dry, but pleasantly moisturized. Flipping it over to spray directly on the scalp feels a bit awkward. The instructions for opening the cap don't seem to be clearly explained on the website. The quantity seems small for the price - 28,000 won for this amount... While a larger size might be harder to use, it would be nice if they could reduce the price or offer refills. 1. Thoroughly wet your hair for about a minute, ensuring all areas are covered. 2. Twist the clear cap upwards to open it. Flip the bottle and pump directly onto your scalp two or three times. 3. Massage the shampoo into your scalp using your fingertips, not your nails, to create a lather. 4. Once you've evenly distributed the foam and massaged your entire scalp, rinse thoroughly with water, ensuring no residue remains. 5. Gently squeeze out excess water with your hands, then pat dry with a towel. Except for step 2, this is the standard method for using any shampoo. Updated September 2022: After using half the bottle, I tried other shampoos out of boredom but came back to this one. It's definitely a scalp shampoo, so occasional use seems better. After traveling or once a week, give your scalp a massage and leave the lather on for 30 seconds - it's said to effectively remove impurities. Shampoos labeled as 'scalp' treatments generally require longer processing time than regular shampoos.
