As time passes, it develops into a soapy aroma with a subtle bitter undertone. It's not overly infantile, but rather a sophisticated, slightly weighty soap scent. Perfect for those who appreciate a more mature fragrance.
ConsThis is my first time trying a Diptyque product, and it's great for men to wear. I can't really think of any downsides.

The fragrance isn't as heavy as you might expect, but rather a refreshing powdery scent.
ConsThose who don't like unisex fragrances might not appreciate this one.

At first, you might think, 'Is this a men's cologne?' But soon, the spicy notes soften, revealing a musky floral-woody aroma. As the fragrance develops, it becomes even more captivating. Both the sillage and longevity are excellent.
ConsThe price is a bit steep. Also, Diptyque seems to be becoming more mainstream these days. It no longer feels as niche as it once did.
TipThis fragrance pairs well with all seasons except summer! Definitely a must-have for your handbag.

At first, I casually heard the name and sampled a floral woody scent. I only took the Orphéon tester strip home in my bag, but as soon as I opened it, the most incredible aroma wafted out. I knew instantly: this is it. This is the exact scent I've been searching for. It opens with floral notes, followed by woody undertones, and finally settles into a powdery finish that's not overwhelming. There's a subtle coolness mixed with warmth, and the lingering woody-powdery scent makes me want to keep inhaling deeply. I couldn't remember the name, but when I went back to sample again, I recognized it immediately. It evokes the image of a sophisticated woman with dark hair, dressed in monochrome. While I love fragrances in general, this is my winter favorite. Some say it's similar to Fleur de Peau, but Orphéon is far superior in my opinion.
ConsThe main drawbacks are its popularity, which makes it hard to purchase, and of course, the hefty price tag...

I couldn't get it out of my mind! So I finally bought it, and I'm absolutely thrilled. It's just fantastic! The scent is a lovely musky, powdery fragrance.
ConsIt's a bit of a heavy scent, probably more suitable for winter use. The fragrance is quite unisex, so those who prefer more feminine scents might not be as fond of it.

The sweet powdery scent with subtle woody notes evokes a cozy winter feeling.
ConsThe top note of juniper berry is divisive. The fragrance projection seems lower than expected.

However, upon using it myself, I noticed that the cedarwood scent seems to dominate more than the juniper berry. There's also a slightly sharp note (I looked up tonka bean and found it's described as having a sweet tobacco scent, so I'm wondering if that's what I'm detecting). It's quite a unique fragrance overall. The overall ambiance is more woody and powdery rather than citrusy. Perhaps that's why, even though I bought it in summer, it feels more suited for autumn and especially winter. I can imagine it would be perfect when spritzed on a wool coat.
ConsThe scent seems subtly different from what I initially sampled - I wonder what other notes were mixed in when I first smelled it? I wish the juniper berry note was more pronounced.

The top note of juniper berry leaves a subtle sweetness, followed by a gentle floral and powdery scent that reminds me of a mild fabric softener. While it might not feel particularly special for a 60th anniversary fragrance, I found Orphéon more comfortable to wear than Plum Blossom, which had a sharp peppery smell to me. Personally, I think it might suit women better, but it could be quite charming on men with a delicate aura. I've sprayed it on a scent strip and placed it in my pencil holder. The soft, cozy fragrance that gently fills the room really lifts my mood.
ConsI agree with the reviews that say it has a cosmetic-like scent.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThe initial scent is a blend of woody, citrus, and floral notes. As it settles, it transforms into a powdery soap scent reminiscent of Fleur de Peau with a cozy undertone. (Some say it's similar to Fleur de Peau, but it's not that close. There's no peppery sharpness. The similarity is likely due to the powdery quality both share. Only the comforting base note is truly alike.) Despite its name, it's not heavy or intense at all. In fact, it's quite fleeting compared to other EDPs. It's a unisex fragrance that suits both men and women. I'd recommend it to those who enjoy a moderate powdery scent. Personally, I find this to be the most appealing Diptyque fragrance. (I prefer cosmetic-like powdery scents over overpowering woody or green notes.) It strikes a nice balance between natural scents (with a hint of Vetyverio) and a refined cosmetic aroma (like the scent of a department store beauty counter). Some reviews mention it smells like men's skincare, which I think is similar to the feminine-yet-slightly-masculine skincare scent found in Chanel No. 5 or YSL Libre. It's not an overtly masculine scent, but rather a powdery, androgynous skincare fragrance. Its versatility is both a pro and a con. While it's pleasantly inoffensive, it's also unique enough that finding a similar scent is challenging.
ConsThe natural notes (woody, floral) are definitely more prominent than in fragrances from other cosmetic brands like Chanel or Dior. However, compared to other Diptyque scents, this one has a more cosmetic-like aroma. If you dislike powdery or skincare-like scents, or artificial fragrances, make sure to test it before purchasing.
TipWhen sprayed on skin, the cozy base notes are more noticeable. When applied to clothes, the initial woody-citrus notes last longer.
