The texture is so soft and airy! It's more 'fluffy' than 'powdery'... It goes on the lips incredibly lightly. But that doesn't mean it feels dry at all. It's like applying whipped cream? I was diagnosed with a deep undertone, and if you have the same personal color as me, this shade will suit you perfectly! This toned-down brown color... I've never seen anything like it in other lipsticks! I'm super satisfied with how it appears as a pure brown without any orange tints. (And... the packaging is so pretty too...) You can expect almost no staining! When I applied it to the back of my hand and tried to remove it with cleansing water, it came off almost completely. It doesn't wear off much when eating, but it's good to touch up once. In the photo, the right side is shade 22 'Lonely Anemone'! I recently did a personal color analysis on my phone and found out I'm a Deep Autumn. So I searched for 'Deep Autumn makeup' on YouTube, saw a lip color I liked on someone, and bought this. Oh my goodness, the color is absolutely, insanely beautiful!! There's nothing to complain about. You might worry about it emphasizing dead skin cells, but that doesn't happen at all, so don't fret about it! - gk**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 23, 2021
When it first came out, I regret not paying more attention to this gorgeous brown shade while buying other colors. I hadn't even considered this color, but it caught my eye when I was thinking about layering the Espoir Greymatte brown, which is pretty but lacks the deep color of editorial looks even when applied lightly. Although I impulsively bought it along with Water Glow 2 Hazelnut Syrup, I wonder why I didn't get it sooner once I applied it. First off, it has my favorite matte, non-shiny texture. As described, it has a thick cream cheese-like formula that spreads smoothly on the lips without clumping, feeling soft and velvety. It applies with good adherence and blends well. It's easy to smudge with a brush or fingertip. Even without a brush, the pointed tip allows for a beautiful application with a light touch. While the official website lists this Anemone shade under reds, there's barely any red tone when swatched. It's a brown color with just a hint of red brick, slightly deeper than Clio's Mad Matte Lip in Sensual Pepper. It's the perfect shade for creating a mood in autumn. This lip product should never be applied thickly. The silky matte formula works best with a thin application; otherwise, it can clump. Due to the need for a thin application, you might feel dryness and see emphasized lip lines as time passes. There's a subtle chocolate scent, which I personally like, but it might be divisive as surprisingly many people dislike it. Although it comes in a tint container, this Matte Rouge is more of a thick liquid lipstick than a tint. It transfers less than regular lipsticks, but there is some transfer, so it wears off significantly after eating. Also, as it's not a staining product, you might be disappointed if you're expecting some color to remain.
