After searching for a foundation-free product with decent coverage and trying several options, I finally decided to give the Choboyang BB cream a shot! I used to shy away from BB creams due to their characteristic ashy tone, but the Choboyang BB cream pleasantly surprised me. It doesn't have that grayish cast and instead gives a natural brightening effect that I really love. It also provides a nice level of coverage, which is great! This product has excellent adherence to the skin, and I'm impressed by how it develops a beautiful glow as time passes. It's become a BB cream I reach for frequently. There's nothing particularly disappointing about this product! It's a BB cream that I'm really satisfied with. The color isn't as light as you might expect, so even those who typically use shade 21 might find that shade 17 works well for them! - Hwahae UserOily SkinApr 25, 2025
I've been using this for about a month now. I bought it to mix with foundation, as I heard it works well that way, especially with matte foundations. It definitely improves the matte feel, making it more natural, and the coverage is excellent. It feels like it fills in the gaps where the foundation's coverage was lacking. Be careful with the mixing ratio. A 7:3 ratio (foundation to this product) is about right. If this BB cream makes up more than 30% of the mix, I found that the staying power actually decreases and my skin gets oilier more quickly. Just add a little bit to your matte foundation. Mix it with a spatula and apply thin layers to your skin, building up coverage gradually. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinAug 13, 2024
Texture and Application: I've often found it difficult to apply foundation alone, as it can look patchy or uneven. However, when I mix this product with my foundation, it applies smoothly and my makeup looks flawless! The coverage seems to last longer when used together, and it even helps to minimize the appearance of pores. Color: I tried the Light Beige shade (No. 17). Initially, it gives a bright, luminous effect, but as time passes, it blends naturally with my skin tone. It doesn't appear overly light. For reference, I usually wear shade 21. When used alone, this BB cream tends to darken slightly over time. As expected with BB creams, there can be some darkening over time. However, I found that mixing it 1:1 with my usual foundation shade works well to counteract this issue. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 11, 2024
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found this product worked well during the cold winter months. My Clio cushion was too matte, causing havoc with dead skin cells on my cheeks, but this BB cream felt moisturizing and didn't cause flaking, which was great. There's a difference when applying with a damp versus dry puff. With a damp puff, it gives the skin a slight glow and applies naturally - similar to using a hydrating cushion. While some sebum texture was visible on my nose initially, it blended naturally as time passed and oil emerged. Using a dry puff provided more coverage, hiding pores and sebum texture, but felt a bit thicker. I would definitely repurchase! The overall shade range seems to run dark. The #17 is definitely not a true #17 shade, but more like a slightly lighter #21. There was hardly any difference in brightness compared to The Face Shop's Ink Lasting Foundation in C21. I always prefer base products one shade lighter to account for darkening, so I think they should consider revamping their color range. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 19, 2023
This is my holy grail product! Whether it's BB cream, foundation, or cushion, it's rare for me to use a product until I can see the bottom, but I was so satisfied with the Chobo Yang BB cream that I used up the entire 21 shade. Even though cushions are trendy, and I've tried various cushions and foundations after using BB creams, nothing compares to this. It blends naturally with the skin's oils, looking best about an hour after application. Even when it starts to fade, it does so evenly without patchiness. I'd recommend it first to those with oily skin, but I think it would work well for dry skin types too if they moisturize well beforehand. The color has become lighter than the previous 21 shade and doesn't have much of a gray undertone. It looks natural when applied thinly, but can make you look pale if applied thickly, so it might not be an exact match for my complexion. That's why I always top it with blush and a pink-toned setting powder when I use this BB cream. There's nothing particularly bad, but I wish it came in a wider range of shades. Also, it doesn't apply as thinly as a foundation, so you need to be careful with the amount to avoid a heavy feeling.
