Even though the price of Paula's Choice is an issue, it's a brand I trust and use. Retinol seems to be effective if used consistently, so I made a big decision to purchase and use it. Considering that I only use a small amount, the price doesn't seem that outrageous either... Well, anyway, I'm using it well.
Cons
The price is indeed quite steep. There's no helping that, unfortunately. I purchased it in the US and got a cashback deal during Black Friday, so I was able to get it at a discounted price. It seems to take some time to get used to it. I don't have sensitive skin, but just in case, I started using it two to three times a week. When I first used it, I applied a lot without knowing anything. I used up the small sample pack I received as a gift all at once, so I ended up using an amount equivalent to 5 times the usual usage in one go. It was fine until the next day, but from the afternoon of the day after, my face started to turn red in various places and the peeling was scary. I thought I'd have to go to a dermatologist on Monday, but by Monday, the peeling had all gone and my skin was smooth and glowing. I seem to have had too high expectations for the retinol. Rather than showing immediate visible effects, it seems that applying it consistently will be helpful. I purchased it along with the Baha lotion, but was concerned about potential conflicts between the products if applied simultaneously, so I alternated applying them every other day. Still, I applied it thinking it would be better than not using it at all.
Cons
As a Pola Choice product, the fragrance is... not very pleasant. When using this product alone, applying my usual amount of essence causes a stinging sensation and irritation. Considering the price is not low, the visible effects are lacking.

I have been using all Polished Choice products for over 5 years. Polished Choice is all good, but.
Cons
I bought this product as an emergency management option when my skin was not doing well, but not only this product, but all Polished Choice retinol-related products did not suit me. The irritation continued and did not improve. If retinol does not suit you, you should be careful.
Tip
Polished Choice is still the best for BHA and AHA! I have acne-prone, sensitive skin, and the Clear line was gentle and suited me well.
