I used to stick with Round Lab's Dokdo Toner because it was gentle and had no downsides. This is my first time trying a Tobegun product, and initially, I was intrigued by its unique red appearance, which gave off a strong impression. But what really won me over as someone with sensitive skin is how gentle yet effective the formula is, packed with so many great ingredients! The fact that it's vegan, true to its name, made me trust it even more. Let me share my experience: despite its intense exterior, the toner itself is a thin, slightly tinted liquid. I personally love hibiscus, so knowing it contains hibiscus extract made me even happier! The most noticeable effect was on my skin texture! While I've never really felt the 'refined texture' claims from other products, using this along with the mint-colored cream truly smoothed out my usually uneven, rough skin. It became noticeably softer and more even-textured! I think its slightly acidic nature might be what helps improve the skin's texture. The second thing I loved was how well it absorbs! It doesn't just evaporate like alcohol, but you can feel it genuinely sinking into the skin quickly and effectively. It even calmed slightly irritated areas of my skin! The packaging is a matte bright red, which feels unique and special, almost like something you'd use in art class.
ConsThere's not much to complain about, but if I had to point something out, this toner isn't completely watery like the Dokdo Toner. It has a slight ampoule-like texture, leaving a tiny bit of stickiness after application. However, I found this actually helps the next cream adhere better, so it wasn't a problem. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I didn't feel any excessive oiliness at all!
TipI used this along with Tobegun's green cream from the same line, and they both worked great for my combination dehydrated skin during summer!
