I apologize for the late review despite being selected for the Hwahae Testers. As it was my first time, I wasn't familiar with the process. Let's dive into the review. I pride myself on having one of the most demanding skin types in the country. From age 11, acne tormented my skin for nearly a generation. Just as I started to find relief, winter would turn my skin extremely dry. That's not to say the acne completely disappeared. In summer, my skin still gets oddly oily and sticky. Regardless of the season, using cosmetics with poor ingredients immediately causes my skin to react, turning red with acne reappearing. That's why I read at least 50 reviews before buying a product, focusing more on the negative ones. I rarely apply for product testing for this reason. However, after examining the ingredients, I found nothing particularly concerning, so I decided to apply. European cosmetics are often surprisingly lenient with harmful ingredients, so I scrutinized the list even more carefully, but found no major issues. Now, onto the product itself. The application is truly excellent. As someone with dehydrated, sensitive skin, I've tried various oils, but this one feels rich without being sticky. It has a clear base with yellow capsules that burst gently and blend naturally. The scent isn't overpowering. It's not strong, but not completely absent either. While opinions may vary, most people shouldn't find it bothersome. It absorbs quickly and smoothly, leaving almost no stickiness. It feels like a perfect blend of oil and serum benefits. While it feels nice and absorbs quickly, it doesn't leave a particularly moisturized feeling. Those who enjoy the smooth feel of oils will like it, but those preferring a more hydrated feel might be less impressed. Although it contains palmitic acid, which isn't great for oily skin, I didn't feel like it clogged my pores. There's almost no irritation to the skin. It's undoubtedly a quality product. At first, to accurately assess its performance, I applied only this product. It left my skin feeling dry. Despite containing many hydrating ingredients, while it might be fine for younger people with oily skin, it's quite insufficient for those who are older or have dry skin. Especially around the eyes. I didn't experience the resetting effect or reduction in fine lines as advertised. Also, the usage instructions seemed too simplistic, which made this high-end product feel a bit lacking in effort. It would have been helpful if they had included advice like applying it after an emulsion or suggesting layering with a moisturizer. This is a product that can be applied right after cleansing. However, as mentioned above, it's not quite enough on its own. I followed up with a moisturizer. For those who prefer a more hydrated feel, I'd recommend applying this product first, then layering with a moisturizer with a hydrating texture. Make sure to apply eye cream generously. This advice is particularly relevant for those who are older or have dry skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 6, 2019
<The Hwahae Testers Review> ☆ Skin Type - Combination dehydrated sensitive skin prone to blemishes ☆ Skin Condition at Time of Use - Small bumps spread across the T-zone Pros: 1. As someone quite sensitive to artificial fragrances, I appreciate the subtle, not overpowering floral scent. It's unique, so I recommend testing it out. The lingering scent that develops as you apply it is even better than the initial fragrance. Recommended for those who prefer unscented products or enjoy subtle herbal or floral scents. 2. The gentle ingredients allow worry-free application even for blemish-prone skin. Despite having blemishes and dehydrated oily skin, I was concerned about using oils. However, I didn't experience any new breakouts or worsening of existing issues. 3. The texture is light and refreshing, not oily, leaving skin feeling hydrated. Perfect for those with oily skin who dislike heavy oil formulations. In fact, completely avoiding oils when you have oily skin can lead to overproduction of sebum to compensate. This lightweight oil serum could work well as a daily product. However, it might not be sufficient for those with dry skin. 4. Personally, I found it didn't cause any pilling when applied under makeup. (Foundation used - The Face Shop Ink Lasting Foundation) Cons: 1. The value for money is questionable. The price per volume is quite steep - it's the kind of product you'd want to purchase duty-free. 2. It claims to have anti-aging benefits, but I'm not sure about that. However, I haven't finished the entire bottle yet, so I should use it up completely before adding a review on this aspect. Although it's an oil-in-serum, the texture is very light, so you need to finish with a hydrating moisturizer. Personally, I found mixing it with a moisturizer gave a more hydrated feel than applying them separately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 6, 2019
The Hwahae Testers Review L'Occitane Overnight Oil-in-Serum A two-week daily evening application review for combination dehydrated, sensitive skin! I used it after toner and exfoliation. As it's an anti-aging product, I applied it around the eyes and nasolabial folds instead of eye cream. I also carefully applied it to my dry cheeks and blemish-prone areas - forehead, nose, chin, and T-zone. ✓ I usually avoid oil-based products, thinking they cause blemishes, but this product didn't cause any breakouts at all! ✓ Despite being an oil-in-serum, it doesn't feel oily. It absorbs well into the skin without any stickiness. It feels light and fresh! ✓ With consistent daily use, my cheeks are less dry now, my skin texture has become smoother, and acne scars have faded. ✓ The golden capsules make the packaging look luxurious, and the fragrance is so pleasant that it lifted my mood every time I used it! The pump bottle is hygienic as you need to twist and press to dispense the product. ✓ While its lightweight serum-like texture is a plus, it also has a downside. It's a bit lacking in hydration, so you definitely need to apply a cream or moisturizer afterward. ✓ Although it's marketed for anti-aging, I haven't noticed significant wrinkle improvement yet. I'll need to update my review after finishing the entire bottle. ✓ The high price might make me think twice about repurchasing. For areas with wrinkle concerns like around the eyes and nasolabial folds, gently roll and apply using your ring finger. The yellow capsules melt with your skin's heat and absorb completely - consistent use should help with wrinkle improvement! It seems like it could work well during the day too, not just at night. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2019
As I always mention in my reviews, I have extremely dry skin, so unless it's midsummer, my skin is constantly dry, flaky, and covered in dead skin cells. My mom also has dry skin, but mine is even worse. We've been using this product together for almost two weeks, and in conclusion, we're both satisfied! I rarely give 5/5 in reviews, but this one is just too good! Working in cosmetics development, I've tried many products. Some make you feel like they were made with care, and this is one of them. Let me list the advantages for an easy read: Hydration: As I mentioned, I have extremely dry skin, so I usually apply toner, ampoule or serum, and cream. Without cream, my skin feels tight. But with this, even just the serum keeps my skin hydrated for hours. My mom, who also has dry skin, tried this alone after washing her face and praised how moisturized her skin felt the next day! I highly recommend this for those with dry skin! Texture: I usually use sticky, oil-rich creams for hydration, but this product fills your skin with moisture without feeling greasy. It's a huge advantage that it hydrates without being sticky - it's hard to find products that replenish oils without being tacky. Absorption: As shown in the photo, it initially forms droplets and absorbs quickly! Scent: Some reviews mentioned disliking the scent, but I enjoyed the mix of floral and aromatherapy oil fragrances! Packaging: They've put a lot of thought into the container and box. Considering the small particles inside, they've chosen the container well - it's sturdy and won't leak. Perhaps because I've only used it for two weeks, I haven't noticed any improvements in wrinkles or skin tone brightening. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 5, 2019
As someone with combination skin, I was hesitant about using an oil, especially with the warmer weather lately. But I'm pleasantly surprised that this oil doesn't feel excessively greasy. Instead, it feels more like it's deeply moisturizing my skin. I only apply it at night, focusing on my cheeks and jaw area. When I tried it on my forehead and nose, I woke up looking like an oil slick! My current routine includes an exfoliating toner, this oil, and a light cream. It's perfectly balanced - no dryness, yet not heavy at all. This product would be ideal for those with dry skin right now. My makeup applies smoothly the next day too. It absorbs so well that one pump is usually enough if you spread it evenly. Two or three pumps were actually too much. I haven't experienced any blemishes from using this. There was a slight tingling at first, but now I don't feel anything. The strong floral scent might be divisive, but as someone who loves intense fragrances, I find it uplifting. Plus, it really improves my skin texture. My skin tends to be a bit rough, but this makes it feel super soft and smooth. First off, the price... I was shocked when I saw it. While the oil is concentrated and a little goes a long way, so it should last a while, I'm not sure if I'd repurchase it at $80 despite how good it is. Another downside is the irregular distribution of the yellow particles in the product. Other than these points, I can't find any faults with the product itself. It claims to have anti-wrinkle benefits, but honestly, I haven't really noticed any improvement in that area. For now, it might be too rich to use in the morning. Try applying it at night, avoiding your forehead and nose, and focus on the drier areas of your face. You'll feel it absorb quickly, leaving your skin feeling hydrated!
