  Thanks to the bakuchiol ingredient, when I apply it at night and look at my face the next morning, my complexion definitely appears brighter and clearer.

  Cons

  I thought it would be gentle, but the thin skin around my chin, eyes, and mouth became itchy. It seems this product doesn't suit me well. Also, the texture felt very oily, so I didn't like the formulation either.

  I really liked how you could feel an immediate tightening effect as soon as you apply it. Some people mentioned they didn't care for the typical retinol scent, but honestly, it wasn't as bothersome as I expected. Plus, the tip has a slight angle, making it convenient to squeeze out and use.

  Cons

  If I applied a bit too much, my skin felt itchy. It was like my skin felt somewhat suffocated. But then again, if I used too little, my skin felt really tight. So it was tricky to figure out just the right amount to use.

  Tip

  After applying this, I'd definitely recommend following up with something deeply hydrating or frequently spritzing with a face mist to keep your skin feeling comfortable.

  The positive aspect is that this was a sample (30ml), not a full-size product I purchased. If I had spent my own money on it, I would have been disappointed.

  Cons

  This product created blemishes on my previously clear forehead. Even after using acne patches to calm them down, they would reappear as soon as I used the product again, as if they had never gone away. I thought, 'No way...' and kept testing it just in case, but the results were always the same. I have somewhat sensitive skin, and usually incompatible products cause immediate itching or tingling. This product didn't have those reactions, which is why I continued testing it... but that turned out to be a waste of time and effort. The photo I took today (08/16/23) shows the breakout. There were days when it was even worse than this. The night before, I had used an acne patch during the day and the blemishes had almost subsided, but after applying this product in the evening and sleeping, they flared up again like this.

  Tip

  Before buying this product, I strongly recommend trying a sample first. If you've already purchased it and it doesn't suit your face, don't throw it away immediately. Instead, try using it as a body massage cream. It creates a slight silicone-like barrier, allowing for long, friction-free, and smooth massages. As you massage, it absorbs well without stickiness, and unlike oils, it doesn't leave an excessively greasy feeling. I appreciated its lighter, cleaner finish compared to oils. If it were available in a larger size at a more affordable price, I'd consider continuing to use it as a body massage product. In any case, it was a rediscovery of the product's potential uses.

  I definitely felt my skin barrier recovering after use. It's like my skin became more firm and elastic. Of course, my skin barrier was quite damaged before, so I might have seen more dramatic results because of that.

  Cons

  If we consider the first evening I applied it as day 1, on the morning of day 2 there were no issues. I applied it again on the evening of day 2. On the morning of day 3, my skin felt itchy and I noticed some redness appearing. However, there wasn't much flaking or dead skin cells. Still, I think first-time users might be a bit surprised by this reaction.

  Tip

  Retinol should always be applied in the evening, never in the morning. Even if you apply sunscreen, the amount varies from person to person, so I always use it at night to be safe. To reduce irritation, it's best to first apply products containing ingredients like cica, niacinamide, or panthenol before using retinol. (This advice applies to other retinol products as well.)

  When I first tested it, I was a bit worried because it felt like there was an oily film coating on my skin. However, as time passed, it absorbed well into my skin.

  I had high hopes for this Mamonde product since I'd previously used Innisfree's retinol serum. For the first two days, there were no noticeable issues. But gradually, my face started to redden and itch. It seems this product doesn't agree with my skin. I recently started using it to calm my skin after a breakout, but ironically, it's causing even more blemishes to appear.

  For dry skin and skincare routine: Huxley Wonder Veggie Juicy Treatment → Pyunkang Yul Noscana-9 Blemish Serum → Mamonde Bakuchiol Retinol Cream. I bought this product after seeing tons of YouTube ads! I'm writing this review after using a sample I received when purchasing a 1+1 deal from a famous YouTuber's market.

  Cons

  1. The skin irritation is too severe. When I apply this product, my skin feels itchy and red patches appear all over my face. I tried using it on my neck to not waste it, but even then my neck became itchy and the sensation spread up to my jaw area. 2. Insufficient hydration. I expected some dryness since it's a retinol cream, but compared to my usual moisturizer, it's far less hydrating. I had to reapply frequently. 3. I bought this product hoping to see effects on my pores rather than firmness, but I didn't notice improvements in either. I think these types of products require consistent use over several months to see subtle effects, but my skin couldn't tolerate it long enough to achieve those results.

Expecting some dryness, I paired it with a viscous essence and Dermatory moisturizer (I reapplied the Dermatory cream when I felt any dryness).

  Cons

  Although it's marketed for sensitive skin, there is still some irritation. My cheeks became slightly red with a stinging, itchy sensation (which subsided after two days of discontinuing use). Daily use seemed too intense, so I gradually increased from once to twice a week, which made it more manageable (the smoothing effect was noticeable even with less frequent use).

  Tip

  Ensuring your skin is well-hydrated makes using this product easier. For those with sensitive skin, start with once or twice weekly applications to build tolerance. Be cautious about layering rich creams (thick textures or very oily formulas) to combat dryness, as this may lead to blemishes. Instead, frequently reapplying a moisturizer (excluding gel types) throughout the day results in an amazing skin texture the following morning.
