It's especially well-known among those who've been through pregnancy, childbirth, or are raising kids. I've probably gone through several bottles myself! Although it's an emulsion, it's not too light, making it great for dry skin on children. The size is just right, so I often carry it around to moisturize my little one's dry skin. The application is smooth, but there's a slight white cast while rubbing it in. It absorbs quickly after a short while, though there's a bit of whiteness during application. The scent is close to fragrance-free, with a slight medicinal smell, so my child even calls it the 'medicine emulsion'!
ConsThe price is a bit disappointing, and for children with very dry skin, you might need to apply it multiple times for adequate hydration. The medicinal scent might be a downside for some. Overall, though, I'm quite satisfied with it.
TipIt's great for carrying around and applying frequently if you have a child with dry skin. The pump makes it convenient to use when you're out and about!

It's become a true holy grail product that I still use religiously to this day. Since I have atopic dermatitis, my baby also has sensitive, thin, and delicate atopy-prone skin. When they scratch due to itchiness, their skin becomes red and inflamed. As mentioned on the product description, Atopalm helps alleviate itching and aids in restoring the skin barrier function. Being a mildly acidic product with a balanced pH, it's gentle enough for babies, women, and men alike. The texture isn't too heavy, and once absorbed, it doesn't leave any sticky residue, which is why I'm really satisfied with this product. While it doesn't cure atopic dermatitis, it definitely helps calm the symptoms. My baby used to scratch all night, but after applying Atopalm Emulsion, they don't scratch as intensely as before, which alone makes it a great product in my opinion. Honestly, after using it for years, there were times when I got bored and tried switching to other products. However, I always end up coming back to Atopalm before even finishing the other products.
ConsIt has a distinct scent! I'm used to it so I don't mind, but my husband, who's sensitive to smells, says it's not fragrant and smells more like an ointment.
TipFor skin that's become white and flaky due to dead skin cells in winter, mixing in a drop of body oil when applying helps calm the flakiness.

Luckily, I won a chance to try this as part of The Hwahae Testers! First off, what really impressed me was that it's suitable for the whole family, from babies to pregnant women. I can use it on myself and my baby, which is a huge plus. The gentle ingredients mean I don't have to worry when my baby rubs against my face, and I'm completely satisfied with how it provides sufficient hydration when used on my baby too! While it does absorb a bit slowly, this actually shows that it doesn't contain any quick-absorbing but potentially harsh ingredients. It's clear evidence of how gentle the formula is - definitely a good thing!
ConsIt's not exactly unscented... there's a slight medicinal smell reminiscent of ointment, which is a bit disappointing. However, the scent isn't overly bothersome or irritating, so it's still quite usable overall.

Since birth, we've tried countless emulsions from various brands, but every winter her skin would become dry, flaky, and rough. It was really worrying. Even Vaseline and Bepanthen didn't help, but this emulsion made her skin incredibly soft in just one day... Even after sleeping, her skin felt soft and moisturized all over, as if her body was full of hydration. The results are truly remarkable. I highly recommend this for anyone dealing with itchy, dry skin that turns white during seasonal changes, or for those with rough skin texture. It's really, really good. Among all the skincare products I've used recently, this is my favorite, and I'll definitely be buying it with my own money when it runs out!
ConsThe scent is a bit like pine? It's a mix of phytoncide and ointment smell, which might be hit or miss for some people. Also, while it has a light texture, it doesn't absorb instantly when applied to the skin. Instead, it kind of sits on top with a white cast, so you need to keep massaging it in to fully absorb.

My little one had some eczema on the ankles, which was a bit itchy, so I applied it regularly. Although the usage period was short and I didn't notice significant skin improvement, it didn't get worse either.
ConsWhile there's no distinct fragrance, it had a somewhat strong cosmetic smell. When I tried it myself, the texture wasn't harsh, but the scent initially made me think...
TipI applied it thinly and frequently throughout the day.

I was struggling to find something hydrating enough for my face that also worked well as a body emulsion, but this does both perfectly! I can quickly apply it all over with ease. The texture is like an emulsion. After a bath, when I apply a generous amount, it leaves a slight trace following my hand movements, but it spreads evenly which is fantastic! I prefer this to water-based formulas as it's easier to control the amount used.
ConsThe scent is mild, but now that my little one is 20 months old and experiencing various cosmetic fragrances, they seem to notice a slightly medicinal smell.
TipI always used this with a moisturizing cream! When paired with a rich, thick cream, my skin felt hydrated and nourished even into the next day.

Even my nephew, born 7 months after my kids, uses it. After trying various products, they settled on Atopalm. Compared to other brands, its hydration and moisture retention are superior - and it's truly so. This was the first emulsion for my 20-month-old twins. Back then, when they were smaller, we only used a little. Even now, compared to other emulsions or creams, a small amount goes a long way, making it economical too. The pump design is great - you can open it by turning it to the right. This means I can hand the bottle to my son, who tries to eat the emulsion, without worry. After bath time, there's no need for an 'emulsion tug-of-war', saving us from unnecessary energy waste!
ConsWhile I love using Atopalm cream and their soothing gel cream is fantastic, for some reason, the scent of this emulsion doesn't agree with me. It's not so bad that I can't use it, but there's a medicinal smell? I can't quite describe it... Anyway, I'm not a fan of the fragrance. Interestingly, my sister who's raising my niece says it's fine for her.
TipIf you know any military personnel or civilian military employees, ask them to purchase it for you from the PX.

It applies smoothly and provides excellent hydration. Right after application, it feels sticky and moist, but it absorbs quickly, leaving only a moisturized feeling. Even as time passes, the skin doesn't look dry.
ConsIt has a medicinal scent, similar to Bepanthen. While you'd have to put your nose right up to the face to smell it, the ointment-like odor is quite strong when kissing the baby. I'm considering switching to a different emulsion next time because of this.

What I really love about this Atopalm emulsion is its texture - unlike regular body emulsions, when squeezed onto the back of your hand, it doesn't run but stays put, maintaining its shape. This consistency is fantastic! I especially appreciate the airless packaging design. It's a vacuum-sealed container that minimizes product waste, which is a huge plus compared to pump-style emulsions that often struggle to dispense the last bits of product. Just remember, never open the lid during use - if air gets in, it becomes challenging to use up every last drop! Since my children have dry skin, we've been loyal users of Atopalm products. After using this, they rarely scratch intensely or complain about itchiness, which is why we keep coming back to it.
ConsOpinions on the scent can vary. My husband thinks it smells a bit medicinal, but I actually prefer this subtle fragrance. I find that emulsions with strong, artificial scents tend to make my skin itchier, so I gravitate towards fragrance-free or lightly scented products. I don't have any complaints about the emulsion itself. As for the scent, it's absolutely perfect for me!

The Atopalm MLE emulsion, with a texture between a light emulsion and a rich cream, isn't too heavy or too light. While there's a brief moment where it sits on the skin, it absorbs quickly. My child doesn't have atopic dermatitis, but he used to scratch day and night. Since using this emulsion, the frequency of his scratching has significantly decreased!
ConsI've tried Atopalm and many other emulsions since my child was young. They're all good, but I just can't get used to this scent! It does fade after a while, but that medicinal smell - like artificial chemicals or old plastic - is really challenging to deal with.
TipMixing in a drop of jojoba oil or lavender oil not only helps soften the scent but also extends the hydration for longer.
