My scalp itching had become unbearable, so I searched high and low before purchasing this. I have blemishes on my scalp and it's quite pale. I've tried several so-called low pH shampoos, but their cleansing effectiveness and lather were disappointing. I ended up using just any anti-dandruff shampoo from the store, but I kept catching myself scratching my scalp all day. That's when I stumbled upon this product while searching for a solution. After about a week of use, even without conditioner or treatment, my hair feels soft, doesn't get tangled, and the itching has decreased dramatically! I'm extremely satisfied. Next time, I'll try a different scent. There's not a single thing I'm unsatisfied with. I'm using it contentedly and will definitely repurchase. Choosing this shampoo is simply a pro tip. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2020
I chose this because I'm a grapefruit enthusiast and it's mildly acidic with a grapefruit scent. Fragrance: It's lightly refreshing. While shampooing, the grapefruit aroma envelops your nose, creating a pleasant mood with its fragrance, but it disappears after rinsing. Cleansing effectiveness: It's gentle and doesn't lather much. I appreciate its mildness, though it might be divisive. I found it fine with a double wash. Hair feels a bit stiff after shampooing. A decent shampoo to use as a substitute when you're out of your go-to grapefruit shampoo. You end up using a lot because it doesn't lather well. The fragrance falls short by about 2% for those buying it for the scent. The scent doesn't last long either. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 2, 2020
My mom bulk-ordered this, so I'm on my third bottle out of necessity. I have [mild stress-related hair loss + very oily skin + high skin temperature], so I react quickly if a product doesn't suit me. I used to use Pantene for its strong cleansing power to combat scalp oil, but since switching to this, I think I'm losing a bit less hair! I recommend this to anyone looking for a low pH shampoo that's gentler on the scalp. Above all, the scent is amazing! It's a cool, refreshing fragrance perfect for summer, and it lasts surprisingly long. As a citrus scent enthusiast, this product is absolutely perfect for me. Being a low pH shampoo, its cleansing power is weak. With my previous shampoo, I felt like the oil was gone after rinsing, but with this one, there's still a slightly slippery feeling left. Also, because of its thin consistency, it runs out quickly, and I've wasted a lot when it sometimes squirts in the wrong direction while pumping. If only the cleansing power was better, it would be perfect... For those with oily scalps, it might be a bit challenging to use daily. A hair designer I know told me that when using a shampoo with weak cleansing power like this, it's good to alternate with a stronger cleansing shampoo. So that's what I've been doing! Also, for some reason, compared to baby powder scented products, this one feels less slippery and less stuffy on the scalp! At first, I thought it was just because of the scent, but when I use a baby powder product, my hair always feels greasy the next day. I wonder why... For those looking for a fresh product, I highly recommend the grapefruit scent! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 23, 2019
This gentle pH-balanced shampoo leaves hair so soft you might not even need conditioner. Plus, it has a lovely fragrance! The cleansing power is a bit weak, so those with oily scalps might find their hair getting greasy quickly. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSep 3, 2019
I've been using this for over a year now, and I've finally settled on Kundal as my daily shampoo, so I'm leaving a review! I initially bought it after watching Dipah's video. First off, I felt reassured by the ingredients, and since it's slightly acidic, I thought it would be good for my scalp. For a low pH shampoo, it has pretty good cleansing effectiveness and lathers well. Compared to other shampoos (like other natural shampoos, supermarket brands, or alkaline shampoos), it doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff after washing and maintains softness, which I love! I also prioritize the scent of shampoos, and Kundal offers a wide range of fragrances that are generally pleasant, so I'm satisfied. The Pink Grapefruit scent is familiar and universally appealing - I've been using it this summer! I have an oily scalp, and the oil comes back quickly. Even though this shampoo cleanses well, it can't be helped... By my standards, with other shampoos, I'm usually fine for about a day, but with this one, oil starts to build up after just half a day. As a result, I end up using more shampoo and go through it quickly. Also, the fragrance doesn't last very long. I know long-lasting scents might mean harsher ingredients, but it's still a bit disappointing. (Update) The pump on the bottle is hard to remove at first... It's not always the case, but it's happened 2-3 times so far... Once it was actually broken, and the other times, I had to twist it a lot before it came off. Some shampoo leaked out when it finally opened. Since oil builds up quickly, I try to compensate by doing a pre-wash or using a scalp brush, which seems to help a bit. I also use a regular alkaline shampoo once or twice a week. If I don't, I sometimes get blemishes due to the oiliness. Despite these drawbacks, I don't find it too inconvenient, and it definitely seems better for my scalp and hair, so I continue to use it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 2, 2019
The consistency was moderately thin, and the scent was better than I expected. There's a slight lingering fragrance after washing your hair. Since using shampoo alone left my hair feeling stiff, I used it together with the treatment from the same line. For a low pH shampoo, the price is reasonable, so I'm using it without hesitation. I didn't get the impression that it was exceptionally good. It's essential to use the treatment afterwards, and by the next day, it still feels somewhat oily. I mainly use it because it's a low pH formula. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 24, 2019
The scent is absolutely divine! I was looking for a low pH shampoo due to severe hair damage, and this one had such great reviews everywhere. I've been using it along with their body products ever since. It's been so hard for me to find products with both amazing fragrance and effectiveness, so I've always been jumping from one to another. But I've been using this for about 4 years now! I've tried various scents, but Pink Grapefruit and Fuzzy Navel are my absolute favorites! I'm not sure if there's anything exceptionally outstanding about its functional aspects. It does make my hair soft even without using conditioner, but I wish the fragrance and softness would last a bit longer. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 5, 2019
< My Scalp Type > I have an oily, blemish-prone scalp. If I wash my hair in the morning, by afternoon it becomes greasy and my scalp starts to smell. If the ingredients don't suit me, I get pimples on my scalp and severe itching. < Product Preferences > Slightly acidic (gentle on the scalp, reduces itching and blemishes, closes the cuticle layer on hair strands to repair damage and improve texture) Silicone-free (silicone oils like dimethicone can build up on the scalp, clog pores, and potentially lead to hair loss or blemishes) Fragrance (I can't give up fragrance in hair products, especially shampoos) My scalp odor is so strong that I need products with fragrance to manage it < Positive Experiences After Using This Product > I've been using it for 5 months. The ingredients are good (except for fragrance), it's slightly acidic, and contains centella asiatica which suits me well. My scalp itching and pimples have disappeared. The shampoo alone makes my hair soft, so when I'm busy, I often skip conditioner. The scent is amazing! Kundal shampoos have the best fragrance! Personally, I love fresh fruit scents, and this has a perfectly realistic grapefruit aroma that puts me in a great mood. For a low pH product, it still lathers up nicely. No real downsides. However, being slightly acidic, it doesn't strip all the oil from the scalp like a shampoo for oily hair would. Still, compared to other brands' low pH shampoos, it feels lighter and fresher, and my hair gets less greasy in the afternoon. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinDec 3, 2018
A gentle, affordable shampoo with a pleasant scent and low pH ♥ I've used over 5 bottles of Kundal shampoo now. I've always preferred silicone and sulfate-free shampoos, so I've tried various brands like Organix and Hansalim. While there are more options these days, most natural shampoos tend to be stiff and don't lather well. The good ones are often expensive, making frequent use a bit of a burden. Among them, Organix (OGX) products were great - lots of variety, good lather, and easily available. I used them enthusiastically for a while, but later discovered they had other harmful ingredients instead of sulfates... yikes! I found this out belatedly thanks to the Hwahae app (why didn't I check that one earlier, silly me). Compared to that, Kundal shampoo has much gentler ingredients. Apart from fragrance, it's almost free of irritants. It's not stiff and lathers decently for a natural product! The cleansing power is lower than sulfate-containing products, which might actually be good for those with dry scalps. If you have an oily scalp, alternating with a stronger scalp shampoo works well! The low pH factor also reassures me. It's not only less irritating for the scalp but also beneficial for hair texture. I'm really satisfied with its silicone-free, sulfate-free, and low pH formula! (It's called a protein shampoo, but don't expect it to strengthen your hair like a protein hair pack would.) The fragrance is probably the only potentially harmful ingredient, but for me, scent is important in a shampoo. Unless you have extremely sensitive skin like atopic dermatitis, I think this level of fragrance is fine, and it's nice to have various scents to choose from. The Pink Grapefruit scent is exactly that - a fresh, citrusy grapefruit aroma 🍊. It's perfect for summer! Compared to other scents, it's lighter and less long-lasting (Fable and Clean Soap seemed to have stronger fragrances). In conclusion, I love Kundal shampoo! +Review update (2019): I've used several bottles of Kundal shampoo without issues. I knew it wasn't a strong cleanser, but my scalp was fine. However, the recent bottle I bought caused scalp acne...!!!! Just minutes after washing and drying my hair, I got these painful, large pimples suddenly. When I immediately switched to a different shampoo, they disappeared.. What's going on..? Kundal... why...? I'll have to take away a star, Kundal... 😢 The cleansing power is a bit lacking for oily scalps. Using this alone leaves scalp cleansing about 2% short. Of course, that's to be expected from natural-derived ingredients. I use this product daily, but once or twice a week I use a stronger cleansing shampoo. Since I have an oily scalp and want to avoid seborrheic dermatitis, I need to thoroughly remove oil occasionally for that fresh, clean feeling. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 2, 2018
The scent is genuinely grapefruit! It's absolutely delightful. As someone with both a dry scalp and dry hair, I had no issues using this low pH shampoo. What's more, since I started using it, I feel like I'm shedding less hair! Well, it doesn't lather up much. Even when it does foam, the bubbles tend to disappear quickly. However, I personally didn't find this to be a significant problem while using it!
