After I bought and used it, my mother, who likes dewy finishes, also went to the store to test it, and she didn't say it was drying~ (Of course, the store staff might have applied the foundation with a brush, so that could be the reason.) As a combination skin type, I apply the foundation with a sponge, and I didn't feel it was drying or matte at all~ Compared to Shiseido, the Shiseido stick foundation has a more powdery finish, while the Make Up For Ever stick foundation has a sort of bouncy texture~ Actually, even after applying the Make Up For Ever stick foundation all over with a sponge, it still had a glow (but I don't like a very dewy base, so I always finish with the Innisfree No Sebum powder.) Anyway, while it applies a bit thickly, the coverage is good, and most importantly, I think it has great lasting power!! The Shiseido stick foundation didn't have great lasting power, but the Make Up For Ever stick foundation does, so I plan to keep using this foundation for a while :)
ConsAs good as the lasting power is, it's hard to remove ใ ใ Just using a foaming cleanser leaves residue on the skin ใ ใ On days when I'm exhausted, I want to just wash it all off with a foaming cleanser and be done, but it doesn't work ใ ใ I strongly recommend doing a first cleanse with a cleansing oil (or cleansing water) and then a second cleanse with a foaming cleanser :) The Shiseido stick foundation has a more powdery finish, so at first, the bouncy texture of the Maepo stick foundation felt a bit strange to me~ But I've gotten used to it as I've used it. Hmm.. I think it would suit both dry and combination skin types well~ But since it's not very affordable, I recommend definitely testing it out at the store before purchasing!! Oily skin types might not like the bouncy & glowy finish, so I really recommend testing it out at the store!! I'm repurchasing it because I like the medium coverage and the great lasting power. The finish not being too powdery is a tiny bit disappointing, but that can be solved by finishing with powder :)
