Review after N months of use••• I bought this after seeing a Downsam ad, and I'm writing because I'm satisfied! • Texture: Not excessively slippery, just the right cleansing balm feel • Cleansing effectiveness: I typically use cushion foundation, eyeshadow, liner, mascara fixer, and eyebrow products. The balm alone removes most makeup. However, I still follow up with foam cleansing to be safe • Scent: A fresh fragrance that shouldn't be polarizing • Value for money?: I've been wearing makeup about 3 days a week for nearly a year... so I'd say the volume is quite generous • Best part!! When I used oil cleansers, I'd have dirty water (ugh) running down my arms while washing, and if I opened my eyes mid-cleanse, everything would be blurry - almost like right after LASIK. That's much less of an issue now, which I love • Many people say it's great for drawing out sebum when used without water, but I'm not sure if it's that effective • If your skin is even slightly sensitive, using it without water might be painful!! They seem to have sales quite often on their official website, so it might be good to buy it then - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJun 24, 2024
When it comes to cleansing, effectiveness is key, and this product truly lives up to its 'All Cleansing' name! After wearing mascara, I used this cleansing balm and it washed everything away perfectly, leaving no residue. When I massage it around my nose area, it even removes sebum. Post-cleanse, my skin feels as soft as a baby's bottom... I love that even after patting dry with a towel, my face doesn't feel dehydrated! The steadily increasing price... While I understand it's unavoidable, it's disappointing to see such a rapid rise in such a short time. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 12, 2023
Simplog All Cleansing Balm is a gem! I'm using this elegant brand @simplog_official's cleansing balm for the second time, and I'm still impressed. The minimalist design is refreshingly clean and appealing. It works wonders even without a separate point remover. This cleansing balm effortlessly melts away waterproof eye makeup and base makeup, leaving your skin clean and hydrated. It emulsifies well with water, leaving no greasy residue - perfect as a first-step cleanser, especially recommended for dry skin. A single tub seems to last about two months. It's truly an excellent product. There's not much to criticize, but if I had to mention something... It would be nice if they offered a pump-type version as well. For best results, massage the balm all over your face to dissolve makeup, then wet your hands and massage again. This helps to break down the makeup even more effectively. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 22, 2023
✓Skin Type: Combination dehydrated skin with sensitivity ✓Texture: A slightly firm yellow balm that requires a bit of pressure to break down. It doesn't spread easily, and there are some clumpy parts that need extra attention to distribute evenly. ✓Cleansing Effectiveness: Used about a fingertip and a half amount on a full face of makeup including foundation, mascara, shimmer, and tint. It removed everything without leaving residue. However, as mentioned about the texture, the balm clumps as it breaks down, so it took some effort to spread it while massaging. On the plus side, it didn't cloud my vision much. ✓Comparison: When compared to Banila Co's cleansing balm and Numbuzin's cleansing pack balm, Simple Log's texture was the least impressive. Cleansing power was similar across all three, but this one felt the freshest on the skin. The firm texture made it difficult to spread. Some parts didn't emulsify well and remained clumpy. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 22, 2023
I tried using this as my first cleanse on a day I wore false lashes, and wow! No need for a separate lip and eye remover - this alone dissolved all the lash glue and removed everything effortlessly. It even whisked away my makeup in no time. The best part? After following up with my foaming cleanser, my skin didn't feel tight at all. I'd say the cleansing effectiveness is top-notch! Compared to my usual cleansing balm, this product feels much more oily. With my old balm, I could rinse it off directly with water and follow up with a foaming cleanser without wiping it off first. But with this one, if I don't wipe it off before rinsing, it feels slippery like oil on my face. Even washing my hands with soap doesn't remove the residue completely - so inconvenient! Also, when I first tried to open it, the inner cap wouldn't budge. I tried everything - my teeth, nails, you name it! Turns out you have to twist the outer lid to separate it before you can remove the inner cap. For clueless folks like me, it would be helpful if they included instructions on how to open the cap! - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 21, 2023
As someone with dry skin, I tend to prefer oil or balm-based products. I'm not usually picky about scents, but the lemon fragrance in this cleanser is absolutely delightful while cleansing. Though I don't wear heavy makeup, it seems to remove a decent amount of cosmetics. It even did a pretty good job taking off eyeliner and mascara! I can't really think of any downsides. However, for those who wear heavier makeup, you might want to use a separate lip and eye makeup remover first before using this cleanser. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 21, 2023
There's absolutely no irritation at all. It cleanses thoroughly without leaving any residue. The scent is refreshingly pleasant (reminds me of a lemon-scented hand soap for kids). The included spoon makes it convenient to scoop out the product. I find myself not using it as often, probably because foam cleansers are just more convenient. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 21, 2023
✨ No need for double cleansing - that's how effective this product is! I think the product's performance itself is a major plus. It melts easily with the warmth of your hands and removes makeup efficiently. It even wipes away Kissmee mascara without a hitch! After cleansing, your skin doesn't feel overly tight or slippery - it's just right, leaving you with that perfect 'clean' feeling. ✨ Hygiene is on point Like most cleansing balms, it comes with a double lid and includes a dedicated application tool. ✨ The scent Personally, I find the fragrance a bit disappointing. While I'm not particularly sensitive to scents, this one is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. I think it could be a hit or miss depending on individual preferences. A cleansing balm that nails the basics! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 21, 2023
Review from The Hwahae Testers: After using it for about 10 days, here's my feedback! -Cleansing effectiveness: 4.5/5 It has a melting texture similar to other cleansing balms. It's quite effective at removing basic makeup, including lip and eye products. I usually layer my eyeliner, and with a bit of pressure, it removes everything. -Scent: 10/5 The fragrance is absolutely divine! I'd say I use it mainly for the scent... It's so pleasant that I find myself massaging it in for longer. -Vegan product: 5/5 It's a trustworthy product as it's not tested on animals and uses only naturally-derived ingredients. -Residue: 2/5 Despite loving the cleansing power and scent, the main reason I probably won't repurchase is the noticeable residue. I've tried various cleansing products, but this one leaves a distinct oily feeling that persists even after thorough rinsing. A second cleanse seems necessary every time. -Blemishes: 3/5 This drawback might also be due to the residue, but my sensitive skin developed a few small pimples. I'm not sure if it's from the product itself or from double cleansing to remove the oiliness, but the breakouts were disappointing. Instead of scooping out a large amount, try using the built-in spoon to gently scrape the product. This method helps it melt better on the skin and makes application easier. Also, I've found that using a smaller amount reduces the lingering oily feeling, so I've been using less of the product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 21, 2023
Even with heavy eye makeup, a single thorough cleanse is enough to wash it all away cleanly. After rolling, eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner all melt, leaving the eye area dark with makeup residue. Then, when you rinse it off with water, it washes away completely without any slippery feeling, leaving your skin clean and refreshed - that's great! I still follow up with a water-based cleanser for double cleansing, but one wash would have been sufficient. It's so satisfying to see all the makeup just melt away! There's absolutely no eye irritation either. It doesn't leave your skin feeling squeaky clean and dry, but instead maintains a nice level of moisture, which I really liked. The scent has a subtle vitamin C vibe to it. I love how the stick for scooping out the cleansing balm can be conveniently tucked into the lid. My previous cleansing balm had an extra plastic cap inside, and placing the stick on top would make the cap messy. While the container isn't very large, a little goes a long way due to its excellent cleansing power, so it should last quite a while! I had a cleansing balm I was already happy with, but this one is so satisfying that I'm torn about which one to use going forward. Everything's great, but if I had to nitpick, when melting it in your palm, some small particles remain unmelted. However, even those eventually dissolve as you massage it over your face to remove makeup.
