  Pros

  As someone who's only used foam cleansers before, I was a bit worried about trying a solid cleansing bar for the first time, but it turned out better than expected! I'll break down the details below. The packaging is wonderfully simple, and what I loved most was that it's plastic-free! The scent is close to what you'd expect from a regular soap, though I personally found it quite strong. Those sensitive to fragrances might get a headache if they smell it for too long. The size is surprisingly large! If used carefully without crumbling, it could easily last two to three months. When you first open it, you might think it looks quite sturdy and won't crumble easily. It contains houttuynia cordata extract! You know how many skincare products with this ingredient are coming out lately? Since it's effective for blemishes and soothing, it could make a great gift for someone who likes houttuynia cordata products. (I'm planning to gift it too!) The lather becomes richer and creamier when using a foam net! (Totally my style!) Even without a foam net, it produces a nice, gentle lather, making it easy to use. (I'm very satisfied!) After rinsing, your skin doesn't feel slippery but has a nice, clean feel. Despite the squeaky clean sensation, it's less drying than you'd expect post-cleanse. That's not to say there's no tightness at all, though! It says you can use it as a mask, but I'm still a bit scared to try that. Maybe after I get more used to it as a cleanser, I'll give it a go as a mask. I still haven't found a cleanser that doesn't leave my skin feeling tight afterwards. It seems like everyone else has found one except me! But this one! It really left my skin feeling less tight than other products!

  Cons

  Since it's not a foam cleanser, when used without a foam net, the lather is quite gentle. As someone who loves rich foam, I found this a bit disappointing. Still, the gentle lather that forms is creamy, so I thought, 'This is more than I expected!'

  Tip

  No matter how solid the soap is, it's still soap, so it's best to keep it in a well-ventilated place. This ensures it stays hygienic and lasts longer. For morning cleansing, it's good for your skin to cleanse lightly, so you can use it without a foam net. In the evening, since your skin is likely to have more dirt and grime, it's better to use a foam net (don't forget your first cleanse!). This cleansing bar is for your second cleanse.

  I'm writing this honest review after using the product for a while, as I felt it needed sufficient testing unlike my previous Hwahae Testers review of a lip product where I could immediately assess the color payoff. Here's what I liked: 1. The eco-friendly packaging is fantastic. From paper tape to boxes and soap cases, everything is recyclable. 2. While opinions on the scent seem divided, I'm a fan. It has a healthy aroma that feels therapeutic (though this is entirely subjective, of course!). 3. With summer here, I've been experiencing more facial redness, but with each cleanse, my skin seems to calm down. The redness diminishes, and my complexion appears slightly brighter. I've noticed a brightening effect! (It doesn't eliminate dark spots or pigmentation, but it does even out and brighten the overall skin tone.) 4. As someone who dislikes oily products, I love how this leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean after rinsing. There's no tightness post-cleanse - my skin feels lighter and more comfortable. 5. It's perfect for morning cleansing. When I'm not wearing makeup, it seems to effectively remove overnight oil and sebum buildup. I plan to keep using it as my morning cleanser. It also seems to help with dead skin cell removal to some extent.

  Cons

  1. It's taller than a regular bar of soap (though the width is fine), which makes it slightly awkward to hold and lather. I think half the height would be ideal. 2. It might be better to sell it as a package with a soap net. It's challenging to create rich lather with just the soap alone. 3. It doesn't seem suitable for makeup removal. After testing it several times on the back of my hand, I'd recommend using it as a second cleanse after removing makeup, or as a morning cleanser. 4. Being a solid cleansing pack, it requires a separate case. It's best to have a soap dish ready before you start using it.

  Tip

  1. Since this product can also be used for massage, it's best to create plenty of lather using a soap net before applying it to your skin. You can buy soap nets cheaply from places like Daiso. 2. After applying the lather, try using a gua sha tool to massage your face - it works wonderfully! Give it a try!

  Skin type: Combination, acne-prone skin Calming effect: Excellent. Usually when acne disappears, it tends to reappear in the same spot, but after using this, the blemishes vanished completely. Scent: Authentic natural soap fragrance Cleansing effectiveness: While I didn't notice a significant reduction in dead skin cells or blackheads, my skin felt squeaky clean after use, without feeling dry. Lather: Creamy and rich. Using a foam net would likely produce even more lather. Size: Surprisingly large! I was shocked when I saw how big it was upon receiving it, haha!

  Cons

  As with most bar soaps, it takes a while to work up a lather. If you prefer abundant foam, definitely use a foam net.
