bu****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRednessJun 21, 2025I actually found the Atobarrier Cream from Aestura quite nice, so I decided to give their serum a try when they had a refill promotion! I've been using it for over 3 months now, having refilled it once. The consistency is slightly thin, not too heavy or sticky. It absorbs well, but it doesn't have that ultra-nourishing feel like some other products. Because of this, I think it might be better suited for those with oily skin rather than very dry skin like mine! I found it works great as a morning skincare product or for summer use. I bought this product because Aestura is quite well-known, and the name "Scar Serum" caught my attention. However, I wasn't particularly satisfied with it. It seems it might be more helpful for blemishes rather than redness. I don't have many blemishes, so I might not have noticed its effects. On the bright side, it didn't cause any irritation, so I'm continuing to use it. The serum absorbs well, which made me expect good results, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I definitely felt the dryness in winter, so I'd recommend it for summer use! I find myself applying two or three layers because one isn't enough to combat dryness. I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to blemishes. 1. Texture It has a water-like consistency! Not quite pure water, but more like cloudy water... Somewhere between water and a runny liquid? 2. Finish and absorption It leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. No stickiness or slipperiness. It absorbs well into the skin and doesn't cause any pilling with makeup. 3. Irritation Absolutely none! It was even gentle enough for my sensitive, irritated skin. 4. Repurchase intention If there's a big sale...? I do like it, but... It's expensive!! It's way too pricey. The cost is just ridiculous... However, it seems the renewed version has switched to a dropper. I personally don't like products with too many ingredients, so I appreciated this simple niacinamide hydrating serum. The lightweight formula spreads easily on the face, making for a pleasant application experience. Small quantity / Contains denatured alcohol Using two pumps each time, morning and night, means you'll likely go through it in just a few weeks. Those with sensitive, dry skin should be cautious - it contains denatured alcohol, which may not be suitable. There's a very faint alcohol scent. I was curious about the renewed version, but the addition of gluconolactone makes me hesitate... Looking at the ingredients, contrary to the product description, it seems this isn't a true soothing serum for super sensitive skin, but rather a hydrating, soothing, and complexion-improving serum for combination dehydrated or oily skin types. - ji******Combination SkinSensitive SkinJun 15, 2025
It seems to smooth out my skin texture. That's about the only positive thing I can say. I bought the whole set - pad, toner, serum, and cream - because a YouTuber said it was good. But my skin completely freaked out. I have super sensitive skin with severe redness, and this is just infuriating... So much for "soothing" - what a load of nonsense! It seems to work well for soothing and reducing minor blemishes! As someone with combination dehydrated skin and a few pimples, I've been using this whenever I need some calming action. It's been particularly effective on redness, so I've frequently applied it to soothe my skin. The price is just too high... Even though I'd love to use it because it's good, it's hard to justify buying except during sales. And even with discounts, it's still quite a financial burden. It's a bit drying, yet feels rich at the same time... It's not ideal to use on its own, but layering with other products is tricky due to its oily texture. That was a bit disappointing.
