It doesn't just sit on top of the skin, but really sinks in, leaving my complexion feeling hydrated afterwards. The gentle ingredients are also great, making it suitable for children and pregnant women too.
ConsWhile the product is fragrance-free, it does have a slightly artificial scent that might be off-putting for those sensitive to smells.
TipStoring it in the fridge enhances its cooling effect, which I really enjoyed. I found it particularly effective to apply a generous layer of this soothing gel emulsion, then place a slightly damp cotton pad over it like a mask. This method seemed to quickly reduce any feeling of heat in my skin.

So when I applied, I wasn't worried about it not suiting me. And sure enough, after using it, it's super gentle! I currently have dermatitis on my face, so I can tell right away if a product is gentle or not. This one didn't aggravate my dermatitis even after using it for a few days. (For symptom relief, an MLE cream would be better though.) As someone with dry skin, I wouldn't say it's particularly moisturizing, so I didn't use it as a final step. Instead, I kept it in the fridge and applied it between my serum and moisturizer. It was great for reducing heat and calming my skin! This has become part of my nightly skincare routine. While the amount might be a bit small for body use, it's a generous size for facial use, which is another plus.
Cons1. The scent... I'm not sure what it is, but it smells a bit like alcohol and reminds me of a hospital or dermatologist's office, which I don't really like. 2. After some time, it leaves a slightly oily residue on the skin.

It absorbs instantly upon application without drying out the skin. Compared to aloe soothing gels, it leaves a slight residual feeling after drying. Soothing effect: It seems to have a calming effect! Hydration: You can feel an immediate boost of hydration. When stored in the fridge and applied, it provides an enhanced cooling effect. Family-friendly soothing gel: Applied it on my sensitive-skinned elementary schooler's face without any allergic reactions - it suited them well.
ConsThere's a slight alcohol-like scent when it evaporates, which is a bit disappointing. Due to its opaque texture, it leaves more residue than transparent soothing gels when finishing. If you prefer a clean absorption, this might not be suitable for you.
TipI noticed it's being sold at a good price on Market Kurly. Just a heads up for those looking to purchase!

This time, I was lucky to receive the Atopalm Soothing Emulsion just in time for my trip. After arriving at the hotel and showering, I applied the soothing emulsion to my heated body and face, and it instantly cooled me down. My back got sunburned, so I kept applying it whenever I felt too hot outside. It's so refreshing when applied. I found out that this product is great for reducing heat rash in children, so I feel comfortable using it on my face too. It feels cool upon application and absorbs quickly. I love that it's not sticky at all. While I prefer sticky products for my face, I don't like that feeling on my body and usually avoid body emulsions. This one, however, absorbs completely after a short while. It's fantastic!
ConsSince I used it as a soothing gel rather than for moisturizing, I don't have any complaints. But if I had to mention something, I'd say there's a slight alcohol-like sensation? Even that I'm not entirely sure about, so overall I was happy with it.

It doesn't cause any deep dryness, but using it by itself might not be enough. It seems perfect for hot summer days. The size is also convenient for carrying around. - It absorbs well and isn't sticky at all. - Atopalm offers great value for money. About 16,000 won including shipping for 160ml is quite a bargain. - The absorbs well on the skin. - I like that the container is transparent, so you can see how much product is left.
Cons- There's a slight artificial scent, which seems characteristic of Atopalm products. It's not a fragrance you'd want to keep smelling. - While the Atopalm MLE works well for my son, he found this product a bit itchy, so I'm using it instead. - Atopalm products usually have distinct features, but I can't pinpoint anything special about this one. I couldn't really feel the cooling effect it's supposed to have.

It's a hybrid between a soothing gel and an emulsion. Unlike a typical soothing gel that absorbs instantly, this one leaves a moisturizing feeling on the skin. The lightweight formula makes it easy to apply. It's not too thick, so it spreads effortlessly without feeling heavy. This makes it perfect for both face and body use. As someone with combination dehydrated and sensitive skin, I found it really helpful when my skin was acting up. Instead of layering multiple products, I just used a calming toner, this Atopalm Soothing Gel Emulsion, and a moisturizer. It helped hydrate my skin and prevent deep dryness. It's also fantastic as a summer body emulsion! I applied it all over after showering, and it was perfect when my winter body lotion started feeling too heavy. It provides hydration without any stickiness. After application, my skin feels light but not at all itchy or dry.
ConsThe scent could be improved. It's not unscented, but has a slight silicone smell. It would be nice if it had a more refreshing fragrance when applied. Although it claims to have a cooling effect that lowers skin temperature, I didn't really feel a cooling sensation during application. It does seem to reduce the skin's internal temperature, but just keep in mind that you won't feel an immediate cooling effect when you put it on.
TipWhile this might provide adequate hydration and finish for oily skin types, those with dry or combination dehydrated skin may find the Atopalm Soothing Gel Emulsion alone insufficient. For best results, I'd recommend using this to provide a light layer of hydration, then following up with additional moisturizing products for a perfect finish that keeps your skin comfortable all day long.

It's designed to soothe skin irritation caused by heat. While everyone's skin is different, I personally tend to experience itching or allergic reactions when my body temperature rises. I applied this to areas that felt hot or itchy, and it quickly calmed my skin and reduced the itching. I love that the semi-transparent packaging allows me to easily check how much product is left!
ConsIn my case, it felt too rich for facial use! Even when used alone, it was quite heavy, so I ended up using it on my body instead. There's also a slight chemical scent, which is a bit disappointing.
TipIt's great to apply this frequently if you often experience skin heating up!

Texture: It's very lightweight. True to its 'soothing' name, it has a watery consistency that glides on smoothly. Absorption: Despite being thin, it doesn't absorb instantly as I expected. It needs a bit of massaging. When you pat it in, you might feel a slight stickiness, but it absorbs completely after a short while. Hydration: It's incredibly hydrating. Even with the current windy and dry weather, I didn't feel any dryness after applying just this. It creates that characteristic thin, protective layer typical of hydrating gels. While Atopalm is often associated with children's skincare, I use it too. After showering with my child, I apply it to them and then use it on myself. It's great for both face and body, and I can use it liberally without worrying about blemishes!
ConsWhile I appreciate that there's no added fragrance, it does have a medicinal scent... like an ointment, which can be a bit off-putting at first application. However, the smell dissipates quickly after applying. Personally, I prefer this medicinal scent to harsh artificial fragrances, but I think this could be a matter of personal preference.
TipWhile it provides great hydration, it's not very rich in oils. So for going out, you might want to layer it with other products for a more robust skincare routine. It's perfect for a quick application after washing your face at home. You can apply it lightly and easily.

Cooling effect: With the recent warm weather, I felt like my pores had expanded a bit. Atopalm Soothing Gel Emulsion feels cool upon application, even when kept at room temperature. Perhaps due to this cooling sensation, it seems to minimize pores? It has a skin-improving effect. It's perfect for spring and summer use. 2. Moisturizing (hydration): Usually, soothing gels are less moisturizing than creams, but this one leaves a long-lasting hydrated feeling. In spring and summer, oily and combination skin types often get greasy, but this product feels less oily. 3. Absorption: Often when applying products, they can leave residue on hands or make hair stick to the face. This soothing gel absorbs quite quickly, but it's not drying - it's just right. It doesn't make the skin feel tight or slippery. 4. Ingredients: Those with sensitive skin or moms raising kids are often picky about the ingredients in their skincare. I'm careful about ingredients too, and this product has no harmful components, so I apply it with confidence. You can even touch your baby after applying it, and maybe even apply it together! 5. Other (tube packaging, price): It's easy to squeeze out, lightweight, and I can take it from home when I go out. The price feels reasonable for its effectiveness. I tried it as part of The Hwahae Testers, but I think I'll continue buying and using it this summer after I finish this one.
ConsIf I had to pick something: Scent: It seems unscented, but it might smell a bit like ointment. This is probably a matter of personal preference. I found it acceptable.
TipSometimes at night, I apply it generously like a mask before bed. In the morning, my skin feels soft and hydrated, not dry, and looks glowing.

I didn't experience any blemishes while using it. It's great for calming the skin in a pinch. The hydration is sufficient, making it good for replenishing moisture! Easy to apply with excellent absorption, it should be nice for summer use too. Even young children can apply it easily themselves. The oil and moisture balance is well-formulated, so for kids, it works fine as a standalone product without needing much else. Just give extra care to extremely dry areas or spots prone to blemishes. It's a great option for the whole family, regardless of age or gender. Overall, it's a safe bet and easy to recommend.
ConsScent, price Rather than absolute drawbacks, these could be seen as pros or cons depending on your perspective! There's a very subtle, hard-to-describe scent, possibly from the raw ingredients. Those who dislike artificial floral fragrances might actually prefer this. It might feel light enough for oily skin types, while those with dry skin may find the moisturizing effect a bit lacking. At 160ml, it's on the pricier side, making it hard to justify buying unless it's on sale. While it works well for the kids' whole body, I only used it on my face to make it last longer.
TipPersonally, on regular days, I found using just this product after toner or a light essence was enough. On extremely dry days when there's a dryness alert, adding a cream or oil on top creates the perfect oil and moisture balance.
