It feels cool when applied, reduces heat, and absorbs quickly, which I loved. The moment you apply it, it instantly makes your skin feel moisturized and refreshed. While looking up information to write this review, I discovered that it's also great for treating diaper rash, which is different from how I use it. It seems perfect for babies or those with sensitive oily skin.
ConsAs someone with extremely dry skin, I found it didn't provide enough hydration. It dried up quickly when I applied it like a hydrating mask, so it wasn't quite sufficient for my needs.

The texture is similar to a soothing gel, with a consistency close to a hydrating cream. It absorbs beautifully. The scent is very subtle, almost unscented. It's perfect for this increasingly warm weather. After bathing, I can generously apply it to my child who tends to sweat a lot. It feels lightweight yet provides excellent hydration, which I'm really satisfied with. The tube packaging is great, allowing you to pump out just the amount you need. I plan to keep purchasing this product. Highly recommended for parents!
ConsIf I had to mention one drawback, it would be that it absorbs quite quickly, which leads to using more product each time.
TipI recommend applying it immediately after bathing for best results.

ConsI had heard somewhere that using soothing gel alone can strip away existing moisture, so both my baby and I always applied an emulsion after the soothing gel. I had high hopes for this product, but it doesn't seem to moisturize as much as I thought. While the finish is nice and not too sticky, it feels like it dries out along with the finish. It seems more suited as a soothing gel rather than an emulsion.
TipSince it has a soothing gel texture rather than an emulsion, storing it cool and using it during the strong summer sun might help more with calming the skin.

With summer here, it's perfect for cooling down sensitive skin in the evening after a hot day. I've tried several Atopalm products, and those with MLE technology are always satisfying. You can trust the MLE line! It doesn't feel heavy after application, and while it might be slightly lacking in oil, it feels wonderfully hydrating and moisturizing. It's also great for layering to replenish moisture.
ConsThe texture reminds me of aloe gel products. About 5 minutes after application, when it dries, it feels like dried egg white on the skin - a sort of 'fixing' sensation that's noticeable when you move your face. This feeling disappears if you layer another emulsion or cream on top, but it's there when used alone. I'm not a fan of this sensation, so I'm noting it as a downside. There's also a slight stickiness after application. It's not severe, but as someone with dry, sensitive skin, I'm hyper-aware of any sticky feeling. Interestingly, the stickiness does fade over time, which is unusual as sticky products tend to stay that way.
TipI've also used Atopalm's Newborn Calming Serum and included comparison photos as they're similar products. The Newborn Calming Serum has a slight menthol sensation, while this Soothing Gel Emulsion provides hydration without that cooling effect. The Newborn Calming Serum is noticeably more fluid (as seen in the last photo). It offers more hydration and a good oil-moisture balance, but the menthol can be slightly irritating. If you want less irritation while still getting a hydration boost, the Soothing Gel Emulsion is better, though it feels a bit lacking in oil. For reference, I have thin, combination-dry skin.

It also does a great job at keeping excess oil at bay.
ConsOn dry winter days, it tends to feel like it dries out quickly on the skin.

Fortunately, it helped manage the severe heat rash effectively.
ConsWhen it dried, it felt a bit dehydrating, so I used it together with Atopalm cream.

It feels cool right after application, but without any mint-like burning sensation. Due to its low irritation, even kids are using it well. It's great that it doesn't drip when squeezing, and it absorbs quickly when massaged in. There's almost no residue left on the skin. The cooling effect is noticeable, and it calms the skin quickly.
ConsThis might just be me, but... It feels like there's a film on my skin. It's not quite like other soothing gels that dry and sit on top of the skin, but it does have a bit of that feeling. I end up applying it generously on my body rather than my face, so it runs out faster than expected. This alone isn't enough for complete hydration.
TipIt seems like it would be great as an after-sun product. It also helped a bit when our child had a fever.

It absorbed well and left my skin feeling hydrated. I have super sensitive skin, and with the sudden heat while wearing masks, my skin was getting red. I generously applied this soothing gel, and it calmed down immediately. In this aspect, I think the product really lived up to its role as a soothing gel. It's definitely a product that will be useful in summer.
ConsWhen I used it as the last step in my evening skincare routine before bed, I felt it dried out rather quickly, which was a bit disappointing. Also, when I generously applied it to my reddened skin for a cooling effect, it dried and left a peeling sensation on my skin, like dead skin cells flaking off. It seems you need to pat small amounts in for absorption before layering more.
TipApply small amounts, ensure it's well absorbed, then layer if needed.

Since she was a newborn, she's been prone to heat rash and severe drool rash, so the Soothing Gel Emulsion has been our go-to product. It's almost like our household's version of Bepanthen ointment, always on hand! We use it year-round, not just in summer. It's effective not only for heat rash but also for drool rash.
Cons* Please don't make the mistake of thinking it's a light summer application and use it alone. You should think of it as a soothing gel, not an emulsion! Soothing gels can cause more dryness after they dry, so always finish with a cream. Even in summer, we always apply cream to our baby's face (in summer, we use body emulsion or cream once a day for the body).
TipFor baby's heat rash and drool rash, I recommend a combination of soothing essence (I use another brand), Atopalm Soothing Gel Emulsion, Atopalm MLE Cream, and lip and cheek balm (I use another brand. I only apply the balm once in the morning and once in the evening to avoid clogging pores). Even though it's the oral phase, our baby tends to put everything in her mouth excessively! So I've tried many products for drool rash. When there's a lot of drool rash, after feeding baby food or infant meals, make sure to wipe with water, not a towel. If you use this combination for hydration, the rash will fade in a day and disappear completely in 3 days. Mild drool rash like in the photo will be gone by the next day.
