- Hwahae UserCombination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessJan 16, 2024
The color definitely brightens up the skin, and it absorbs as smoothly as an emulsion It's too rich in oils and comes off easily. Its effectiveness in covering blemishes is practically zero - 12******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 15, 2023
It's great for a natural complexion boost on men's skin when applied lightly over your regular sunscreen This might not be suitable for those with significantly darker skin tones - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 20, 2022
It naturally brightens your complexion and the pump dispenser makes it convenient to use I felt like it caused some blemishes to appear and the staying power seemed a bit lacking - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinNov 18, 2022
It does seem to even out the skin tone. The discounted price makes it quite affordable. They claim it's an emulsion that can be used without a base skincare routine, but that's not the case. If you apply this product alone without any base, it doesn't absorb well and causes pilling. It's quite rich, so by the time I arrive at work, it's sitting on top of my skin. The instructions say to use two pumps, but that much would make you look like a ghost. Half a pump or a light single pump is more appropriate. - ba*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 26, 2022
It's moisturizing with a level of richness that's more than an emulsion but less than a cream, which suits my skin type perfectly. The pump bottle format seems more hygienic than a tube, making it feel safer to use. It also absorbs well, so that's a plus! I often felt like my skin couldn't breathe, and I think it might be a bit too rich for those with oily or combination dehydrated skin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

It's an all-in-one product designed to elevate your complexion game. One of the biggest pitfalls for makeup newbies, especially men, is the dreaded 'obvious makeup' look. You know, when your tone-up cream clumps or cakes, or when there's a stark contrast between your face and neck (hello, Popsicle effect!). This can scream 'I'm wearing makeup!' or 'Too much product!' - absolute no-nos in the world of natural-looking male grooming. This product nails it with a color that's spot-on for typical male skin tones. It's a semi-transparent pinky beige that's neither too light nor too dark, making it a great fit for most guys out there. The absorbs well is pretty impressive too. After my skincare routine (cleanser, toner, emulsion, and sunscreen), I used a palette and spatula to apply about a fingertip's worth to my cheeks. Then, I blended it all over my face and neck with a makeup sponge. The result? A noticeably brighter complexion that looked fantastic. A peek at the ingredients list shows panthenol near the top, indicating a generous dose for hydration - a big plus in my book. While there were some potential allergens that had me a bit concerned about blemishes, the inclusion of centella asiatica seemed to keep any breakouts at bay. The high SPF and PA ratings make it great for sun protection, which is definitely appealing. However, keep in mind that this is primarily a tone-up emulsion. If you have oily skin like me, facial oils can cause it to wear off, potentially reducing its sun protection. I'd strongly recommend applying a physical sunscreen underneath for optimal protection. In terms of coverage, it's slightly less effective than your average BB cream. However, when viewed as an 'emulsion', it does a decent job of providing a natural-looking cover. If you need extra coverage in certain areas, a dab of concealer should do the trick. Personally, I prefer lighter coverage as heavy products tend to irritate my sensitive skin and cause blemishes. While I was satisfied with the results, those seeking high coverage might have mixed feelings about this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2022
It's not sticky and does a great job evening out my complexion - I love it! It's a bit mediocre. You won't see any dramatic changes. It's just okay as a basic sunscreen. - si***Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2022
While my skin isn't extremely sensitive, I do have some redness that makes it look a bit uneven. This sunscreen has better coverage and brightening effects than my previous one, making my skin appear clearer and more even-toned. My wife also loves how it makes my complexion look smoother! It does transfer slightly onto masks and clothes. But aside from that, it's pretty good. I apply it lightly twice for best results. - na******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 22, 2022
I won the Hwahae 'Gatsby AI-Dem Tone-Up Emulsion' and I'm writing an honest review. The box mentions '3', which I found out refers to the three functions it contains. The best part was how it evens skin tone with a natural peach hue! I was worried it might make my skin look pale, but it actually corrects my dull complexion while brightening it even more. What I liked most was that it's not thick or sticky, but applies smoothly like an emulsion. With just two pumps, I can cover my face and neck. Plus, the pump design allows for easy control of the amount. Among tone-up sunscreens, this one has been the most satisfying. If I had to mention a downside, oddly enough, it tends to transfer onto masks... Unfortunately, it seems a bit impractical to use on the body. (It stains clothes...) I found that when applied with skincare, there's no pilling, which is great. (When I used the tone-up emulsion alone, it seemed to leave a slightly white cast, but when I mixed it lightly with my skincare, I was quite satisfied with the result.)
