There are no downsides, but it is a must-have product.. The packaging is beautiful and the fragrance is amazing.

The woody fragrance enthusiasts absolutely must use this product! We strongly recommend it! Even just 3 pumps are sufficient for short hair. The deep woody scent is not cheap-smelling at all...it's just so good.

I was disappointed that the sandalwood scent was not to my liking.

If you enjoy the scent of sandalwood, the long-lasting fragrance would be an advantage.

I mainly use sandalwood-based perfumes, as I enjoy the woody and musky scents. This hair oil has a really nice fragrance. The hair oil functionality is decent - my hair feels smoother right after application, though the coating effect doesn't last too long. Still, the sandalwood scent lingers nicely whenever I move, so I'm considering repurchasing it.

My hair is slightly wavy and tends to become frizzy after drying. This product didn't seem to have a calming effect on my hair. 
Since I don't color or perm my hair, I'm not sure if it's effective on damaged hair, but the lightweight feel means you shouldn't have high expectations.
Many people may buy it for the fragrance, but the longevity isn't as long as the claims.

This is a review based on the 10ml sample I received as a gift when purchasing the treatment. (The attached photo is of the gift sample, the actual product is much larger!)

The texture is an appropriate viscosity, not too thick or watery - it's an oily consistency. If I had to categorize it, it would be on the thicker side. When applied to the hair, it evenly distributes shine without excessive oiliness. It spreads smoothly and evenly without clumping, which was nice. The moisture level is not exceptional but fairly average. If you find heavy, sticky hair oils to be burdensome, this texture may be more suitable for you.

The fragrance is temple incense, a neutral woody scent, similar to Diptyque's Tam Dao. It starts out rich but gradually lightens, so it should work well for female users too. The scent holds its own against expensive perfumes costing tens of thousands, it's quite distinctive. If the fragrance suits your preferences, I'd recommend giving it a try.

It seems a bit more expensive than other hair oils. And I remember there used to be a basil and vetiver scent, but is the hair oil being discontinued gradually?

I've tried all kinds of oils, from Moroccan oil to everything in between, but I couldn't find anything as good as this. The scent is also amazing. When you apply it generously to wet hair, it doesn't leave a greasy, heavy feel, but rather looks like natural seaweed. After a while, it gets fully absorbed, leaving your hair with a natural shine.

The projection is strong initially, but it fades away quickly, leaving something to be desired in terms of longevity.

I'm not a huge fan of the Woody Musk line, but the subtle lingering scent made it suitable for daily use.

The essence is a bit heavy, but it seems to wrap around damaged hair nicely. After applying the essence and brushing my hair, it felt really soft.
