The lavender base helps neutralize yellow undertones, making your face look more radiant. It's also perfect to use before makeup. I'm definitely planning to repurchase when I run out!
ConsThere's a slight feeling of pilling, but it's not excessive so it's still okay to use.

It really evens out my complexion.
ConsUnfortunately, it tends to pill and leaves visible marks if my face gets wet.
TipI apply it thinly using a cushion puff, but because of the pilling issue, I find myself always reaching for a setting spray!

ConsI'm not sure if I missed something in the instructions, but when I apply foundation over this base, it pills terribly

ConsIt tends to pill. I wouldn't recommend using it with matte foundation, and it's best to avoid applying it around the nose and smile lines.

Natural brightening effect Unlike many brightening moisturizers or bases that can look too white on yellowish skin, this one gives a very natural finish. 2. Fragrance I liked that it's fragrance-free. I tend to dislike products with strong scents as they make me feel overly made-up. 3. Absorption It applies like an emulsion! There's no stickiness when applied to the face. 4. Ingredients As someone with super sensitive skin prone to blemishes, it's been hard to find a base with good ingredients. This one has a great formulation. Overall, it seems like a safe choice. If you're looking for a base with good ingredients, I'd recommend this! I'll probably use it all up.
Cons1. Sticky hands After application, my hands felt sticky, making me want to wash them immediately. 2. Pilling It tends to pill a bit when applied over primer! So you need to smooth it out. 3. Settling into nose area It slightly settles into the sides of my nose, but that might be due to my larger pores.
TipStill, it pills less and looks more natural than most brightening moisturizers, so I'd recommend it for days when you don't feel like wearing much makeup. If you're planning to apply foundation over it, use a thin layer with a sponge to prevent pilling.

It made me think, 'This one's going to set quickly!' so I applied it swiftly. As expected, it set rapidly, leaving a soft finish without feeling heavy. The lightweight finish made it great for layering cushion or foundation over it. With its good ingredients, it's less likely to cause blemishes. I appreciated the absence of fragrance. While it has that subtle scent typical of unscented sunscreens, it wasn't unpleasant. I loved that this case also embodies Hince's signature sleek style, and its matte finish should prevent it from slipping out of your hand.
Cons- It felt dry, especially for those with dry skin, due to its quick-setting nature. - If skincare products aren't fully absorbed beforehand, it may cause pilling.
TipI found it less drying when I kept my skincare routine simple, applied a bit of rosehip oil, let it absorb, and then applied the sunscreen.

The finish is much more matte than typical makeup bases, which I loved for the overall skin appearance. The adherence to the skin was noticeably excellent!
ConsFor those with combination skin, if your sunscreen underneath is too thin or moisturizing, this base might pill mercilessly. It might be better to use this with a sunscreen that provides a good balance of oil and moisture.
TipKeep your skincare routine simple! Even when using a base, you can't skip sunscreen, so finish your skincare with a matte touch. Use a sun protection product that maintains the right oil-moisture balance. Then, when you apply this Hince base, you'll see a beautifully firm skin appearance.

There's a subtle aroma, though I can't pinpoint exactly what it is. Brightening effect: The tone correction is immediately noticeable as soon as you apply it. Moisture: It feels hydrating at first, but finishes with a matte look. Application: Initially, it glides on smoothly due to its moisturizing texture. However, it becomes slightly less spreadable after a short while (likely due to the matte finish). Review: This makeup base is ideal for yellow-toned skin. While it doesn't cover redness around the nose, it evens out yellow undertones, making it suitable for a foundation-free makeup look. It's gentle and non-irritating, so I'll likely use it often. Additional note: As a foundation user, this product made me realize why people use brightening moisturizers and makeup bases. After applying this, I needed significantly less foundation, and my makeup lasted longer.
ConsFor my dry skin, this product felt a bit dehydrating. Applying a thick layer of skincare underneath led to patchiness and pilling. Therefore, I think it might be more suitable for combination or slightly oily skin types rather than very dry skin (due to its matte finish).

It's compact, fits nicely in your hand, and slips right into your makeup pouch. I started applying it enthusiastically as soon as it arrived. I love how it finishes with a soft, powdery feel, and it's much less sticky compared to sunscreens or other products. My yellowish complexion was really stressing me out, but this seems to balance my natural yellow undertones better than other brightening moisturizers or bases. If it doesn't cause any blemishes, I think I might just settle on this purple base!
ConsThe disappointing part is... I'm not sure if it's because I applied too much skincare underneath, but it tends to pill like dead skin cells. So I tried applying less skincare and exfoliating, but it still kept pilling on my nose bridge and forehead areas. I think it might be due to oil. I'll just keep using it as is... It's a bit disappointing. I'll continue using it because the color is nice though.
TipIf you apply your skincare too intensively before using this, it might pill like it did for me. The pilling marks look awful (like sebum), so I can't bring myself to post a picture of it.
