It brightens the complexion, especially for skin with a slightly yellow undertone. Although it's a thin consistency, it absorbs well and a small amount is sufficient for even application. It's convenient for quick outings with minimal makeup, providing enough coverage when used as a base alone. The quantity is a bit on the smaller side, which is disappointing. It has a distinct cosmetic scent. Those sensitive to fragrances should definitely try a tester first. - je*********Oily SkinJan 22, 2025
Great for brightening the complexion. It effectively covers dark areas around the mouth and under-eye circles. The price is a bit steep, isn't it? That's really the only downside I can think of. - do********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJan 15, 2025
First off, I tried the Light Peach version of this product before this one. It didn't cause any blemishes and provided a slight brightening effect, which wasn't bad. However, since my complexion is naturally yellowish and not very light, I didn't see significant results and wasn't planning to repurchase it. Given my super sensitive skin, I was hesitant to experiment with a new base product that might cause irritation. So, I decided to try a different shade from the same line and bought the Lavender color. I'm quite satisfied with it! It does a great job correcting my yellowish, darker complexion and seems to have decent staying power. While I absolutely wouldn't recommend using it alone, I always make sure to apply it when I'm using foundation! Very pleased with this purchase! There's nothing particularly disappointing about it, but it doesn't do much when used on its own. Rather than giving you a prettier complexion, it mainly works to correct yellowish undertones. I think if you choose the right shade for your skin tone, this product could outperform many others! - le*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityJan 14, 2025
I snagged this at Sephora for around $0.75 during their closing sale. The formula is quite thin and has a purple tint. It does a great job neutralizing yellow undertones while brightening the complexion! There's hardly any coverage, but with SPF 50+, I've been using it as a sunscreen alternative. I wouldn't recommend this product as it tends to settle into pores and accentuates dead skin cells, which has made me reluctant to use it regularly. - z_**Combination SkinRecommendedJan 2, 2025
My skin tends to be yellowish and dark, but this evens my skin tone naturally, which I love. It seems to pill a bit when I apply foundation over it, so I've been using it as a brightening moisturizer base with concealer on top. The result looks natural and gives my complexion a hydrated appearance, which I really appreciate. Unfortunately, I develop small bumps on my skin only when I use this product. I'm not sure what's causing the issue. - to*****Combination SkinRecommendedDec 16, 2024
Tone-up bases have different purposes depending on their color: Pink: Brightens complexion Lavender: Covers yellow undertones Green: Conceals redness Keep these in mind when using! The Hince Second Skin Tone-Up Base in Lavender: 1. Has SPF 50+, rivaling many sunscreens 2. Applies smoothly and lightly, blending effortlessly It gives a natural, healthy glow and radiance that's absolutely gorgeous! On busy days, this alone can complete your base makeup. Adheres perfectly to the skin with natural coverage Highly Recommended for: • Those concerned about yellow undertones • Anyone wanting a brightening effect with a natural-looking complexion • Those seeking a simple yet flawless base makeup There aren't really any downsides, except perhaps that it leaves the face slightly matte after application. - 20*****Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRednessRecommendedDec 5, 2024
My complexion became incredibly radiant! I mixed it with a slightly darker foundation, and wow, it's genuinely amazing. I absolutely love it. You should definitely buy this! There weren't many downsides, but if I had to mention one, I felt the amount was a bit small. The price is reasonable, but... While it might be partly because I use a lot, I still found the quantity a bit lacking. - gu***********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedOct 22, 2024
Perfect brightening effect: It really neutralizes yellow undertones and brightens the skin beautifully! Long-lasting: When you apply this, you definitely feel radiant all day long. Portable: Its small, square shape makes it more convenient to carry around compared to elongated brightening moisturizers I've used before. Texture: It doesn't dry matte but finishes slightly dewy, which is perfect for my combination dehydrated skin! I noticed it can look patchy if my skin is too dry. Slight pilling: Since I have large pores and a lot of dead skin cells, I notice some pilling when I apply cushion foundation over it. I love the color so much, but this issue prevents me from using it liberally. Blemishes: My skin is quite sensitive, and I feel like this product often causes blemishes to appear. The color is really perfect, but it's like a star-crossed love - I want to use it, but I can't. - gk*********Combination SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedSep 22, 2024
It provides a natural brightening effect while feeling lightweight on the skin. I've been using it without any irritation. As a base, it definitely evens out my complexion, allows foundation to absorb well, and doesn't leave an overly rich or greasy feeling, which I really appreciate. It only evens out the skin tone and feels thinner compared to other base products. I didn't notice any significant visible whitening effects. I think it's best to consider this as a product that clarifies and evens out your complexion while remaining transparent. - ld*****Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 8, 2024
✓ Brightening effect: Among brightening moisturizers, this one seems to have the best tone-evening effect! My skin tends to be yellowish, so I need a purple-tinted brightening cream to make my complexion look radiant. This one is purple-tinted and makes my face look naturally luminous, so I often use it for no-makeup looks or when I'm going foundation-free. ✓ Application: It applies smoothly like a cream and seems to absorb quickly. It feels more like applying a skincare product rather than a typical brightening moisturizer. It feels moisturizing when applied, but leaves a soft, matte finish once it's fully absorbed! ✓ Blemishes: Thanks to its good ingredients, I haven't experienced any blemishes so far. ✓ On dry areas of the skin, there's a slight pilling, so it's best to apply skincare products thoroughly before using this. ✓ The price is a bit high, so it's better to buy it during sales. While it's great for foundation-free days, I find that applying makeup over this brightening moisturizer makes my complexion look even more radiant, so I always start my makeup routine with this product!
