As someone with combination dehydrated and sensitive skin, I had high hopes for this sunscreen due to its reputation for good UV protection and easy application. I'm pleased to say it lives up to the hype! The sunscreen applies smoothly and provides excellent sun protection. I also appreciate the subtle brightening effect it gives my complexion. Please note that I've only tried about three sunscreens, and this review is based on two weeks of use. For those with dry skin, beware - this might make you feel unexpectedly oily. That was the biggest drawback for me. After using this, I noticed an increase in small blemishes on my face. Oddly enough, it doesn't feel greasy when applied to my hands or arms, but my face becomes excessively oily. Looking at the ingredients, there's a high alcohol content. Over time, my skin feels deeply dry underneath, yet appears shiny on the surface - it's really unpleasant. Unlike my previous sunscreen stick that felt like it melded with my skin, this one seems to sit on top of my skin after a while. Lastly, I ordered this from Olive Young, and the packaging arrived a bit dirty, with some kind of residue on it. When choosing a sunscreen, it's crucial to consider your skin type and specific needs. While this product may work well for some, it might not be suitable for everyone, especially those with dry or sensitive skin. Always patch test new products and discontinue use if you experience any irritation or adverse reactions. - sh*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 6, 2025
There's no white cast, the scent is pleasant, and it seems to absorb well into the skin After applying toner and emulsion, my skin felt firm, but when I put this on, it felt like there was a coating. When I applied makeup, it seemed to pill slightly, and there was a bit of excess oil, which was disappointing - a0**********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 13, 2025
Along with Ally's brightening moisturizer sunscreen, this is my holy grail sunscreen. When I bought it on Naver, they were incredibly generous with the gratis items, making it excellent value for money. I really loved using it. I purchased it after seeing its impressive performance in a sunscreen test, and it not only provides great UV protection but also doesn't cause any skin issues or discomfort. It's truly the best! There's nothing bad to say! The scent might be divisive for some, but it didn't bother me at all. It just has a typical sunscreen fragrance. This product doesn't provide as much brightening effect, so it's perfect for gifting to parents who apply it very well. It makes your skin look smooth and beautiful, as if you've used a primer! - du*********Oily SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 7, 2025
This white cream has a fluffy texture reminiscent of whipped cream. It's rich enough that I apply it directly after toner and serum, in place of my usual moisturizer. As someone with combination skin, this works well for me. It can sting a bit on the eyelids, but it's fine around the eyes. There's a slight white cast and it takes a little time to absorb. While it doesn't brighten as much as a brightening moisturizer, it does give a subtle healthy glow to the complexion. I bought this instead of the Anessa facial gel when I visited Japan. I believe it's a face and body product. Given its strong sun protection, it's best removed with a cleansing oil. I wouldn't recommend it for the height of summer though. I applied it to my eyelids without thinking and it stung and tingled. Be careful with that area. Since it absorbs slowly, wait a bit after applying it to your face. - j4********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRednessRecommendedFeb 8, 2025
This sunscreen provides exceptional UV protection. It's definitely one of the top-rated Japanese sunscreens out there. There's nothing particularly bad about it. The scent, maybe? But that's unavoidable with sunscreens, so I can't really say there are any downsides. - sh*****Oily SkinRecommendedNov 25, 2024
This product is a go-to for its excellent absorption and perfect sun protection! I've experienced its incredible effectiveness firsthand at Mount Fuji, where the snow-reflected sunlight is intense. While others got sunburned, those who applied this stayed completely protected. It's waterproof, goes on clear, and even has a slight skin-enhancing effect that makes your complexion look better. The price is on the higher side, so it's best to buy during sales. In the dead of winter, it might feel a bit tight on the skin, likely due to the zinc oxide. Also, you'll need BB cream or foundation for blemish coverage. It's frustrating that we don't have products with such reliable sun protection available domestically. - bo*******Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 29, 2024
It doesn't sting my eyes and absorbs well. I've been using this for years now. I couldn't find any drawbacks... I'm completely satisfied! I've stocked up on this and use it regularly! Highly recommended! Go for it! - dd*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedSep 24, 2024
It doesn't get excessively oily and keeps that fresh, matte feeling for a long time Every time I used it, my atopic dermatitis flared up. I had to give up after a few tries - kk************Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 16, 2024
It absorbs quickly into the skin and has proven sun protection, making it perfect for summer use! It was moisturizing and really great for dry skin, but the scent was... quite overwhelming. - ma*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 31, 2024
As someone who typically avoids hand creams due to their stickiness, I was pleasantly surprised by the Ally sunscreen. It feels wonderfully light and powdery smooth upon application. Being a sunscreen, you can still tell you've applied something to your skin. While I was hoping for a completely undetectable feel, I think this level of sensation is acceptable.
