Here's my review of the Wake Make Real Ash Brush Eyeliner (01. Ash Black)✨ I've always struggled with eyeliner colors, but Ash Black is perfect! Brown shades don't suit my light summer cool tone, and regular black is too intense and unnatural. This product, however, offers a vivid yet soft black that's just right. ✅ Pros ✅ 1. Perfect color Unlike Kiss Me's new Ash Brown, which still feels too brown, Ash Black strikes the perfect balance for a natural yet defined eye look. 2. No smudging Absolutely no smudging, even on oily eyelids! It stays put from morning till night. It's even smudge-proof in humid weather, making it ideal for summer. (I used it to test my cleansing products' effectiveness - notice how only the eyeliner remains!) 3. Excellent application Glides on smoothly, making it easy even for beginners. It applies effortlessly without needing much pressure. 4. Superb longevity It truly doesn't budge! Stays vibrant until you cleanse, so touch-ups are rarely needed. 5. Great value High quality at a reasonable price - I'm on my second purchase! ✅ Overall ✅ With its color, longevity, smooth application, and smudge-resistance, it's nearly flawless! Highly recommended for summer cool tones. I'll definitely keep using it - currently on my 4th one! While there are hardly any downsides, I noticed it can come off with occasional tears (like when yawning) if they pool in the corner of your eye. Also, even with eye makeup remover, sometimes there's residue left, so thorough cleansing is necessary. ⭐ My Personal Tips ⭐ Slightly fill in the waterline for a more defined look. Before applying, blend a bit of brown eyeshadow for a more natural effect. Repeat after application too. Extend the line slightly towards the inner corner of the eye for a fresher look. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 17, 2024
I love that it's a clear, not-too-dark gray shade. The color payoff is excellent and the staying power is top-notch! It's so good that I find myself reaching for it constantly. Sadly, after just two months of use, it's already run out. What a bummer! If you keep reapplying, it can smudge. I've found it's best to shake the product, wait a moment, and then apply it in one smooth stroke for the best results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 4, 2024
This eyeliner is absolutely incredible! You just need to swipe it on quickly and your eye line is complete. The color is a gorgeous faded ash tone that looks so natural, yet it's more defined than a shadow liner. It really gives you that perfect balance of subtlety and definition. The packaging is a bit of an issue. The outer part started peeling off, which makes it rather inconvenient to use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJan 21, 2024
As someone with clumsy hands when it comes to brush-tip liners, I was on the hunt for a pencil eyeliner. The staff at the cosmetics store recommended this one, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I was initially hesitant about black, thinking it might be too intense and stark. However, this ash black shade applies so naturally! The thin tip allows for precise, sharp lines. The staying power is impressive too - it lasted until I removed my makeup! There's not much to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, it can feel a bit stiff to apply at times. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles with brush-tip liners or prefers a more natural look! If you end up with a thicker tail, let it dry and then gently scrape it with the spoolie brush - it'll sharpen right up! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 24, 2023
I love that the color isn't too intense, yet it allows for a nicely defined line. It applies smoothly and has decent staying power. Being a brush-pen type eyeliner, there's a slight ink leakage, but it wasn't a major issue. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSep 12, 2023
I wanted to fill in between my lashes, but using a pencil always left clumps on them. Ugh! I was worried about irritation from those clumps getting in my eyes, so I'm glad I bought this! I usually use ash brown shades, but this liner's brown was too light, so I switched to black and it's much better - a natural yet defined look! I was concerned about using a brush pen since I hadn't tried one before, but it applies smoothly. The firm tip allows for precise application, making it super easy to create fine lines with quick strokes. The only downside is that you absolutely must check the color and swatch it before buying. Other than that, no complaints! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 12, 2023
I have a winter cool skin tone between shades 17 and 21. I prefer a very natural makeup look. A subtle makeup base with mascara and eyeliner to define my eyes suits me best. I only use pencil eyeliners, and I switched to this one after using Cl*o for a long time. It's less creamy than Cl*o and sets faster. While this means it's absolutely smudge-proof and harder to correct, the fact that it doesn't smudge at all is crucial for me and makes it perfect. The color is just the right ashy tone, giving a clean and defined look without appearing too faint. Very dark black eyeliners can make eyes look defined but somewhat disconnected from the rest of the face. This one, however, has the perfect black shade that enhances the eyes naturally while complementing the overall look. There are no downsides. It's also very affordable when purchased during Olive Young sales.
