As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I can't live without a good cream. However, I'm prone to blemishes if I use just anything. That's why I always go for gentle, soothing, and fragrance-free options when choosing creams. Needsdom Barrier Balm claims to protect the skin's barrier, with a German-patented ingredient for soothing and a French-patented one for strengthening the skin barrier. Germany and France? These dermatological powerhouses definitely piqued my interest! The packaging is quite basic, and the texture is thicker and more substantial than your average cream. When it arrived, the enclosed instructions suggested skipping toner and applying a generous amount before bed. I immediately put it to the test. Wow... This is no joke! I could feel it tackling my deep dryness. At this rate, I could seriously streamline my skincare routine. After all, more product doesn't always mean better results, right? But this... this is truly amazing. Perhaps due to its gentleness, I didn't experience any breakouts. There might be some pilling when applying makeup because of the texture, but it seems fine if you let it absorb thoroughly. I've already introduced this gem to my sister who lives with me. If you have dry skin, I wholeheartedly recommend this!
ConsAlthough it's labeled as fragrance-free, there's a slight medicinal scent. It feels more like applying medication than a cosmetic product. However, it's not overpowering or particularly unpleasant. It's tolerable.

First off, I'm extremely sensitive to scents, and it's hard for me to use products with strong or artificial fragrances on my face. I absolutely love that this product is fragrance-free. There's a very faint medicinal scent, but it's not bothersome at all! The tube packaging makes it hygienic and convenient to use. For a balm, the texture is quite fluid, making it easier to apply than other balm-type products. (Still, I wouldn't recommend layering it heavily before makeup. It's perfect for nighttime care or as a base layer before sunscreen in the morning.) My skin type is combination dehydrated with redness, enlarged pores, blemishes, and uneven texture. My cheeks are particularly sensitive and usually react with redness or itching to even slightly irritating products. However, I experienced none of that with this product! It's said to have passed skin barrier strengthening tests, and I can confirm that my redness has significantly reduced. Most surprisingly, I noticed my T-zone pores have shrunk! Even when I only use a toner and this Relief Barrier Balm at night, my skin doesn't feel tight the next morning after cleansing. I highly recommend this to anyone struggling with sensitive skin, deep dryness, and enlarged pores!
Cons- Slight medicinal scent - Doesn't instantly clear up blemishes (it takes some time) These two points might vary depending on individual skin types. I had to really think to come up with any downsides, so I'd still recommend this to those with similar skin types to mine.
TipIt's so convenient that applying just this one product after toner can address deep dryness and provide effective skincare. Purchasing this product is definitely a smart move!

It feels super hydrating when applied, but the finish is quite rich. The texture is slightly heavier than the Ato Concentrate Cream. For me, it's too heavy for my face, so I've been using it like a body emulsion, applying a thin layer on my arms and legs. It's definitely improved my keratosis pilaris and keeps my skin moisturized even the next day!
ConsThe scent is kind of... medicinal? Since it's a bit on the oily side, I wouldn't really recommend it for those with oily or combination dehydrated skin...
TipTry it on your body!

My skin has been dry lately with some small blemishes in oily areas. As I've gotten older, my main skin concern has been combating dryness. When the weather warmed up, creams started to feel a bit heavy and suffocating. I'd only apply a thin layer at night and use a light emulsion during the day. But by afternoon, my skin would feel extremely dehydrated. Then I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Hwahae Tester for the Ultra Relief Barrier Balm. Despite its name, I was surprised to find it wasn't heavy or suffocating at all - it felt light on my skin! So I've been using it day and night, and I'd like to share what I've noticed: 🤗 Texture and Application: The texture is like a typical cream, slightly thicker than a runny one. As you can see in the photos, it spreads easily despite its rich consistency. It feels like a slightly weightier emulsion. 🤗 Scent: To me, it has a faint medicinal scent. It's almost unscented, but there's a slight whiff of ointment when applying. It's not strong enough to be bothersome though. 🤗 Hydration Power: This is where the product truly shines! As the weather got warmer, I found morning cream application too heavy and switched to just emulsion before makeup. But by afternoon, my skin felt parched. With this product, I can apply it in the morning under makeup without feeling weighed down, and my skin stays hydrated all day! The moisturizing power is truly impressive. 🤗 Skin Protection: The product description suggests applying this alone after cleansing when skin is sensitive. After extractions or when my skin was extremely dry, I'd layer a light serum and two layers of this cream. The next day, there was no irritation at the extraction sites! Sometimes after extractions, my usual skincare would cause inflammation, but this time there was less irritation and dryness. Now, my nighttime routine includes a layer of serum, 2-3 drops of facial oil patted in, and two layers of this product. It's perfect for those times when my sensitive skin acts up! I'm thrilled to have found a moisturizer that works well even as the weather warms up.
ConsThe only downside is the slight medicinal scent. Having dealt with acne-prone skin for years, I'm used to ointments. But applying something that smells like ointment all over my face felt a bit strange at first. However, the scent isn't strong or lingering - it's just a faint note that doesn't really bother me. Other than that, I haven't experienced any blemishes, and my skin doesn't feel dehydrated when I wear makeup over this cream. So there are no real drawbacks for me!
TipUsing it with 2-3 drops of facial oil makes for an excellent overnight mask for dry skin types!

Cons- Personally, I don't mind stickiness, but this felt sticky when first applied and had a slight medicinal scent... It's close to being unscented, but there was a faint smell and thickness reminiscent of applying ointment - Although it seemed to finish with a powdery and fresh feel, which was nice when going to bed, I woke up with more oiliness than before applying it. This might be due to my dry skin having some combination dehydrated skin tendencies

When I use cosmetics that don't suit me, I quickly develop redness, hives, and blemishes easily appear. That's why I only use one or two products that work well for my skin. The Nizdem Ultra Relief Barrier Balm is great to apply on its own after working out during the day. The German and French patented ingredients made me trust it even more. After using it, I didn't experience any blemishes, and despite being a balm-type cream, it absorbs well and leaves a protective feeling on the skin. I only apply this cream and a light layer of sunscreen, and it doesn't cause pilling. Immediately after use, it feels like it adheres well to the skin, making it feel firm and elastic. The tube packaging is convenient to use. I can squeeze out just the amount I need, which is clean and prevents waste. After a week of use, my skin feels healthier.
ConsThe fragrance is a bit disappointing. Since it doesn't contain any added fragrances, it's unscented, but it has a cream-specific scent that smells a bit like ointment.

As someone who's dealt with acne, atopic dermatitis, and overuse of steroids, I still experience skin peeling and makeup flaking in certain areas, despite my atopic dermatitis being cured. Naturally, I became interested in products for skin barrier repair and regeneration, which led me to apply for The Hwahae Testers. To cut to the chase, I think this product could be beneficial for many people in general. (I'll explain why it might not be suitable for me or those with sensitive skin in the 'cons' section.) Forgetting it was a balm-type product, I applied it generously like a cream before bed. When I woke up and washed my face, my skin felt incredibly smooth✨ I can't remember the last time my skin felt this smooth without using prescription medication. I scrubbed hard thinking I hadn't cleaned properly, but it was just my skin.ʘOʘ It's not quite a moisturizer, and because it's a balm-type product: For dry or dehydrated skin types, it's best used as a final layer after thorough skincare. For oily skin types, the glossy texture of the balm might feel heavy, so it's advisable to let it absorb and use blotting papers if needed. When applied, it gives a radiant Inner Glow effect. While it doesn't feel heavy or greasy, the balm's inherent stickiness can attract dust (you can see small dust particles on my face in the usage photos). For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend using it before makeup as it might cause pilling. However, it could be great for a bare-faced Inner Glow and skin care routine.
Cons1. Scent As a fragrance-free lover, I noticed it's unscented but occasionally has a smell similar to some prescription medications with an artificial scent. 2. Small tube opening This isn't an issue if you're only applying to specific areas, but it can be frustrating if you want to cover your entire face for a subtle glow. 3. Caution for sensitive skin I think there might be an ingredient that doesn't agree with my skin. About two weeks before using this, I had a skin flare-up that I managed to calm down. But after using this product generously for 2-3 nights, my skin flared up again.ㅠㅠ Upon research, I found some common ingredients to be cautious of. It felt like a thin layer of atopic dermatitis all over my face... My skin became dry, slightly red, and itchy... Apart from this, I'm satisfied and want to continue using it, but I need to calm my skin and test it again to be sure if this is the cause. Looking at other reviews, some people mentioned getting blemishes, so ★ I recommend those with sensitive skin to check if there are any ingredients they've had issues with before using.
TipWhile it's not suffocating, the texture might be too heavy for daytime use or could cause makeup to pill for those who tend to get oily easily. It's great to apply after your nighttime skincare routine - when you wake up and wash your face, your skin feels incredibly smooth.

Hydration This product has good moisturizing properties. I have extremely dry skin - I'm talking about the kind of dryness where I can apply moisturizer every 3 hours without getting a single blemish. While it doesn't keep my skin hydrated for hours on end with just one application, when compared to other brands' moisturizers, I'd rank this one quite high in terms of hydration. 2. Blemishes I have dry and sensitive skin, but because this product doesn't contain any irritating ingredients, I didn't experience any skin rashes, burning sensations, or blemishes. Even when products claim to be free of irritants, sometimes there can be ingredients that don't agree with my skin, causing sensitivity. However, I didn't have any such side effects with this one. 3. Skin Barrier While it's hard to objectively confirm if my skin barrier has become stronger, I definitely feel like my skin is becoming healthier. You know that feeling when your skin is sensitive, and it seems like it might 'flip' at any moment? I don't get that sensation anymore, even during the changing seasons.
Cons1. Scent The scent is definitely something that many people might dislike. It's not unscented, but it's not a pleasant fragrance either. It's more like a slightly artificial raw material smell - similar to silicone, with a hint of fragrance added to it. 2. Oiliness The moisturizing effect isn't like a thick balm or butter-like consistency. Instead, it feels quite oily. After application, it's as if you've applied a face oil, seemingly trapping moisture with oil. It's not the kind of oiliness that comes from a solid melting, but more like you've applied straight oil. That being said, it's not so oily that it feels greasy - it's moderately hydrating, just not in a rich, creamy way.

I'm so happy and grateful to have finally found a cream I like. It's non-irritating, absorbs well, and feels moisturizing without being sticky. I think it'll be widely liked, as it's an intensive and very nourishing cream. It's far from having a watery texture. - It reminds me of Physiogel, but I once had a bad reaction to Physiogel that damaged my skin. This one, however, feels even gentler and like it's packed with hydration but with less oil. - Perhaps due to its gentle ingredients, there's no tingling or irritation at all. It makes my skin feel comfortable and seems to really strengthen the skin barrier without any deep dryness. I'll definitely repurchase! - Unlike some moisturizers that feel hydrating at first but then leave your skin feeling dry or tight after absorption, this one doesn't do that at all. Even hours later, I felt my skin was deeply moisturized. We're always worried about blemishes from using too much product, right? But now I think a balanced skincare routine is best, rather than over-nourishing. - When applying, it felt heavier than expected, so I thought it might cause pilling or not sit well under makeup, but that wasn't the case! I didn't experience any blemishes while using it either. I'm currently using it daily, both day and night.
ConsThey say it's unscented, but there's a slight chemical or strong odor. It's hard to describe - maybe like rubber? So I wouldn't recommend it for those very sensitive to fragrances. For me, the smell is only noticeable during application and doesn't bother me at all once it's absorbed, so it's not really a dealbreaker.
TipFor those with dry or combination skin, apply it generously before bed, especially around the eyes and cheeks! It's satisfying to wake up in the morning and find that the moisturizing effect is still there.

The best part was how moisturizing and comfortable it felt on my skin. It made my skin smooth and hydrated enough that I didn't need to apply a separate emulsion, which was great. It didn't irritate my skin, so I could apply it without worry. It also seemed to help calm my skin, quickly fading red marks. The scent is like an ointment, which I actually preferred over typical cosmetic fragrances. It felt more like a pharmacy scent, giving me confidence that it might be fragrance-free. Despite being a balm, it has a creamy texture that absorbs well.
ConsThe really disappointing thing is... I developed small blemishes after using this. I think it might be because my skin is oily, or perhaps because summer is approaching, but I found the oil content to be excessive. It might work differently in winter. Also, since it has an ointment-like scent, those looking for a pleasant fragrance might be a bit disappointed.
