The salicylic acid gentle cleanser is really impressive. First off, its creamy lather gently dissolves makeup residue and excess sebum, leaving my skin thoroughly cleansed. The moisturizing finish after washing is perfect for my combination dehydrated skin. Not only does it not cause blemishes, but the salicylic acid actually helps keep them at bay. It's absolutely fantastic. The product comes wrapped only in plastic packaging without a box. This makes it difficult to store when buying multiple units. I have no complaints about the product itself. - ra*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedJun 2, 2025
Skin type: Combination dehydrated, super sensitive, acne-prone, blackheads 1) Perfect for blemish-prone skin! After using it, I noticed a significant reduction in my blemishes. I'll definitely keep using it! 2) It contains BHA, which helps manage excess oil! As someone who produces a lot of sebum, I saw great results in oil control. 3) I loved how rich and foamy it was! 4) It's also great for sensitive skin! I have quite sensitive skin, and after using this product, my blemishes decreased without causing any new breakouts. I highly recommend this more for oily skin types rather than dry skin! It leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean! When using this product, try pairing it with exfoliating pads. It'll make your skin softer, and you won't even need to use a scrub! - yu************Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsMay 24, 2025
I bought this cleanser for occasional exfoliation, and I was quite worried about using it since I have super sensitive skin. Surprisingly, it wasn't as harsh as I expected. As expected from COSRX! There's not really anything to complain about. Just be careful as your skin might feel dry right after use. Like other low pH cleansers, it gives that squeaky clean feeling, so if you're not a fan of that sensation, you might want to avoid this one. This cleanser works well for gentle exfoliation of dead skin cells. It's suitable for those with sensitive skin, but remember to follow up with a good hydration routine to combat any potential dryness. The low pH formula provides a deep clean, which some may find too stripping. As always with COSRX products, it's effective without being overly harsh on the skin. - mi************Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 19, 2025
Real face has a lot of oil or feels dirty, it's great to use - it wipes it all off nicely. It's also good when you're using a puff. Those with a sensitive skin barrier or who do not tolerate Hwahae well due to its alkaline nature and the presence of salicylic acid are not recommended to use it. - ao***Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 9, 2025
I usually don't prefer low pH cleansers and like to wash without a slippery feeling, but this one leaves my skin feeling just right - clean without dryness! It doesn't have an overpowering scent either. On days when I'm only wearing light makeup, this product alone is sufficient for a thorough cleanse. It's reasonably priced, doesn't cause blemishes or irritation, and is a great all-around product for everyday use. To be honest, with cleansers, I don't expect any special effects. As long as it doesn't cause blemishes, doesn't make my face feel tight, and cleanses effectively, that's all I need. This product meets all these criteria, so I don't have any complaints. - kj****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresApr 1, 2025
The cleansing effectiveness is good, but it might be a bit too strong. It seems like this product is best suited for those with resilient skin that doesn't easily get irritated. Every time I use it, my skin becomes red and very dry. It feels like my skin is getting worse, so I've stopped using it. - dd********Oily SkinMar 23, 2025
Cleansing effectiveness: It lathers well and leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean. When you're dealing with excess sebum, it gives you that thoroughly cleansed sensation. Recommended skin type: This is ideal for those with oily skin types. However, it might be too strong for daily use, so I'd suggest using it only when you're experiencing particularly oily skin days. As it's a slightly alkaline foam cleanser that removes sebum, it can leave your skin feeling dry and tight. I wouldn't recommend this for daily use. - hy***********Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedFeb 20, 2025
I've always used foam cleansers but still felt like there was residual oil and uncleaned impurities trapped inside my skin. This was a constant worry. For the first time, I squeezed every last bit out of the foam cleanser tube - that's how satisfied I am with it! The cleansing effectiveness is excellent, and my skin feels squeaky clean and fresh afterwards. I absolutely love it. For reference, I have combination dehydrated skin and I recommend this to those who prefer a thorough cleanse. Also great for those with oily skin. There's nothing particularly bad, but I wish it came in a pump bottle as well as a tube. That's just my personal preference! - le*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 11, 2025
If you're actively seeking out this product, you're likely facing similar issues - struggling with whiteheads, excess sebum, or finding that gentle pH-balanced cleansers just aren't cutting it. I ticked all three boxes! In the past, pH-balanced cleansers worked fine for me, but something changed. Maybe my skin type shifted, but those pesky whiteheads were really giving me a hard time. I overhauled my skincare routine, improved my diet, even started exercising more. Yet, changing my cleanser was the last thing on my mind. Here's the game-changer: salicylic acid. It's oil-soluble, meaning it doesn't just work on the skin's surface - it penetrates deep into the pores, clearing out dead skin cells and excess sebum. For those of us with oily skin, it's a godsend, tackling not just surface issues but also the root cause of blemishes! In my early 20s, I didn't know this. I thought gentle and pH-balanced was always best, even for my oily, sebum-prone skin. No wonder my pores got clogged and I broke out! I'm so grateful to have discovered this now. My skin has improved significantly since using this product. The cherry on top? It's budget-friendly! This has become my holy grail cleanser. With its wallet-friendly price, simple yet effective ingredients, and impressive results, I can't recommend this product enough! The price is great, and it's been effective for my blemish-prone skin. Honestly, I can't think of any downsides. However, as a skincare enthusiast, I've got a bit of an experiment in mind. I've always understood that salicylic acid works best in slightly acidic formulations. This product combines salicylic acid with a mildly alkaline base. Now I'm curious - is it the alkaline formula that suits me, or is it the salicylic acid doing all the heavy lifting? One caveat: this isn't recommended for dry skin types. But here's a thought - I actually have combination dehydrated skin. If you're dealing with excess oil or whiteheads, even if you lean towards the drier side, it might be worth a try? I've found it works wonders on body blemishes too when used in the shower. I've heard good things about COSRX's retinol products as well, so I'm planning to give those a try next. - 79******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 7, 2025
Excellent for blackheads! I had quite a few on my nose, but after using this product, they completely disappeared. It feels like they naturally dissolved rather than being extracted like with other cleansing oils. I wish I had a before picture, but I'll substitute with a current photo of my blackhead-free nose. It balances oil and moisture perfectly. I have dry, blemish-prone, and super sensitive skin. I started using this because I occasionally get small bumps, suggesting an imbalance. This product has really improved my skin's balance. The salicylic acid seems to reduce excess oil production. It removes makeup effectively too. I always wear eyeliner and used to need both cleansing oil and foam, but this product removes it well on its own. It's an outstanding product that cleanses thoroughly and maintains skin balance. It's a shame there aren't more reviews. I'll definitely be repurchasing for the foreseeable future! Sometimes when I use shimmery products on my aegyo-sal (under-eye area), a bit of glitter remains after cleansing. But to be fair, this happens with most cleansers, so I usually finish up with toner to remove any leftover particles. The price and the product are both fantastic!
