My skin hasn't improved since my student days... I've been using niacinamide for quite a while, but its characteristic stickiness was so intense that I found myself avoiding it. As I used it less and less, my skin suddenly flared up, making me seriously consider seeking help from a dermatologist. With moving and changing jobs, my skin kept acting up as my overall condition declined, so I completely revamped my skincare routine! This product, which I purchased during that overhaul, absorbs so quickly that at first I wondered if I'd even applied it. It leaves a slightly oily residue. Due to the nature of niacinamide, it can sting quite a bit on sensitive areas or open wounds. However, with consistent use, it helps regulate sebum production and reduces texture! Even though the price makes me wince a bit, it's become a repurchase-worthy magic potion. This broke girl is... Following this routine: toner > niacinamide > bakuchiol serum > mist > cream, I've noticed my skin improving significantly, and even old scars seem to be fading bit by bit.
ConsFor first-time users, you might experience some deep dryness if you only use this product! It would be great to use it with hydrating toners and emulsions or creams before and after, but I'd recommend layering a cream toner containing ceramides 2-3 times, then finishing with an ampoule, emulsion, or cream. There is a slight oily residue left behind! If you're worried about your makeup pilling, apply an appropriate amount and gently blot with oil-absorbing sheets.

ConsIt's disappointing that the amount is so small, and after applying, it's a shame that it doesn't fully absorb into the skin, leaving a slightly slippery feeling on the surface.

As someone with oily skin, I find it's not too heavy even in hot weather. Unlike The Ordinary's niacinamide which stung a bit, this one doesn't irritate at all. It doesn't cause blemishes and actually seems to calm my skin.
ConsIt feels a bit slippery if you try to layer it like a hydrating serum, so it's best to apply just once.

High-concentration niacinamide suitable for both day and night use It's not easy to find a product with such a high concentration of the multi-talented niacinamide, but this one nails it. Plus, unlike vitamin C or retinol, you don't have to worry about timing or storage (though this is more a benefit of the key ingredient...). Since I knew this ingredient worked well for me before, I could really feel its effects in full force, which was satisfying. 2. Non-sticky, water-like texture While my skin is becoming drier, I absolutely hate anything sticky or slippery. I'm quite particular about textures in general - I'm obsessed with soft, fluffy slimes, and I can't stand pillows or clothes that don't feel right against my skin. That's why I usually only use skincare products with gentle, non-irritating textures. If I don't like it after one use, it goes straight to resale or giveaway. But this serum is so incredibly water-like, I absolutely love it. When you first apply it, it's not like a runny nose, but it flows smoothly. As you roll it in, it feels like it's being rapidly absorbed into your skin. It's refreshing yet filling, which is satisfying. After absorption, there's hardly any residue left, which is great.
Cons1. Due to high concentration, it can cause irritation when skin is sensitive or reactive There's a momentary burning and tingling sensation. Especially after popping a small pimple, even after some time has passed, applying this feels more stinging compared to other products. 2. Definitely not focused on hydration+moisture, so using this alone can lead to dryness Especially when used with retinol, if you don't moisturize separately, you might feel oily on your naturally oily nose while your cheeks feel dry and flaky. Moisturizing is a must.
Tip1. This is an absolute game-changer when used with retinol! If retinol works for you, using this combo will tackle both pores and blemishes, for real. 2. If you feel a stinging sensation after applying this, try putting on a centella-infused pad for about 3 minutes. It calms right down. These two work great together.

To be honest, I'm not sure if there's been a dramatic effect. I still experienced some breakouts while using it. However, I noticed that while my typical inflammatory blemishes usually persist for about a week, they seemed to clear up much faster while using this serum. The most noticeable improvement was with cystic acne. Whether by coincidence or not, I didn't experience any painful, hard, or inflamed cystic acne while using this product. It feels like this serum doesn't completely solve skin issues on its own, but rather supports your skin health. It seems most effective when used consistently for prevention. While the results aren't miraculous, it did have some positive effects. Given that niacinamide is known to help with blemish prevention, sebum control, and pore care, I'd like to finish another bottle. I've been using this product at night along with a glutathione serum from Numbuzin during the day, and my complexion has noticeably brightened. Someone even asked if I was wearing a brightening moisturizer when I only had on mineral sunscreen!
ConsThe finish is slightly oily. It's not sticky, but it feels like there's a thin layer of oil coating the skin. I actually liked that it wasn't drying, but I can see how this might be a matter of personal preference.
