Although the formula is lightweight, it provides good hydration, and even layering it two or three times absorbs quickly, which is convenient. * Soothing effect I don't store it in a cool place, but it gives a refreshing sensation when applied. It's great for calming irritated skin after cleansing. * Fragrance The scent is stronger compared to other brands. It's intense but not artificial - a herbal scent that lifts my mood every time I apply it. I'm satisfied with the luxurious feel of the color, fragrance, texture, and packaging.
ConsIf I had to point out a downside, it would be that the price is quite high for the amount you get. It's a bit expensive to use as a regular part of my routine.

It preps the skin perfectly for the next essence step, allowing better absorption. I'm really satisfied with this exfoliating toner.
ConsThe price is a bit on the higher side. While the glass bottle is heavy, it's great for product preservation, so I can't complain.
TipDon't use it wastefully. I apply it with Silcot cotton pads for efficient application.

It's not heavy at all! It was amazing to use as a cold skin pack by keeping it in the fridge and applying it when my skin felt hot or right after a bath. It absorbs well into the skin too. There's no stickiness, and it feels refreshing! The fact that it didn't cause any blemishes on my sensitive skin shows that the ingredients are good. I'm so happy to have found a toner that hydrates without causing irritation! The scent is like herbal medicine. It might be divisive, but I absolutely love it!
ConsThe scent is similar to herbal medicine? That might be a point of contention for some people.
TipMy favorite way to use it was keeping it in the fridge and then using it as a cool skin pack to reduce skin heat.

It's truly like water - no viscosity, just pure liquid. You need to quickly pat it on after dispensing to avoid spills. As for absorption, its water-like consistency allows it to sink in exceptionally well. ✏ Hydration & Effectiveness Honestly, I didn't expect much hydration from a water-based toner. But after about two layers, it feels incredibly moisturizing. It makes your skin feel plump and bouncy. Usually, I apply cream after toner, but this was sufficient on its own. The PHA ingredient seems to work wonders for dead skin cells. Not sure if it's due to the PHA, but it forms a white foam-like substance when rubbed. Using a cotton pad might be more effective for exfoliation, but I found that even applying with hands improved my skin texture, making it slightly smoother. ✏ Quantity I thought 150ml would be quite small, but I was surprised by how large and plentiful it is. After two weeks of diligent use, it's barely decreased in volume.
Cons🌿 Scent The herbal scent might be polarizing. Personally, I liked it as it gave me the impression of being healthier for my skin. 💰 Price The price is quite steep, making it highly recommended as a gift but perhaps too burdensome for daily use. While it's good, it feels too ordinary to justify the 40,000 won price tag...? If I were rich, I'd definitely buy it though.
TipAfter morning cleansing, absorbing it twice with your hands leaves your skin hydrated even without an emulsion. It seems to refine skin texture, giving a slightly smoother feel.

The user experience was delightful - the formula is as light as water, absorbing well without any stickiness while providing excellent hydration. It felt sufficiently moisturizing without overwhelming my skin, making it a great match for my dry complexion. Since it's not sticky and absorbs quickly, I could layer it 2-3 times even on busy mornings, allowing me to seamlessly move on to the next steps in my skincare routine.
ConsAs others have mentioned, the scent might be a matter of personal preference. It has an earthy aroma reminiscent of root plants, which can feel natural and healthy, but on some days it might be a bit overwhelming. However, I did think that the natural fragrance likely indicated healthy ingredients...
TipThe instructions mentioned that it could be applied with a cotton pad or patted in with hands, so I first used it as an exfoliating toner, then patted it in 2-3 times with my hands. This left my skin feeling deeply hydrated and plump with moisture!

Texture: ★★★★ It's not too light or too rich. Some toners focus too much on exfoliation and feel watery, but the Calming Toner had a perfect balance. It definitely helped with deep dryness. It absorbs well with a hydrating feel, without pilling. The closest similar texture is 'Primera Organience Water'. It's about 20% lighter than Organience, but the rest of the feel is similar. The most noticeable effect was how soothing it felt on the skin, though I didn't experience any dramatic changes. But I don't expect major changes from a toner, so I'm satisfied with this level of performance. Scent: ★★★ It has a subtle herbal scent that's not too strong. As you use it, you might even start to like it! Packaging & Design: ★★★★★ I loved how eco-friendly the packaging was, from the box to the container. They used recyclable paper instead of bubble wrap and even the tape was environmentally friendly, which made me feel good about my purchase. The design is also fantastic. It's not overly trendy, just clean and simple. While many brands are going for a more emotional design these days, Yeonchak seems to have focused on simplicity.
ConsThe herbal scent was a bit bothersome at first, but I got used to it over time! There wasn't really anything I disliked about it.
TipI recommend applying it like an essence for absorption, rather than using it as an exfoliating toner. Even after one use, you can feel it helping with deep dryness.

Many toners I've tried were so light that I could barely tell I'd applied them, but this one manages to be lightweight while still providing hydration, making it easy to use without any burden. Absorbs Well: As expected from a toner, it absorbs quickly. I even repurposed it as an exfoliating toner by putting it in an empty toner pad container. It absorbed well and left my skin feeling moisturized when applied directly. Hydration: This toner is perfect for those who struggle with deep dryness. It really helps combat dehydration! I often have trouble finding toners that address my lack of moisture, but I think I'll be using this one frequently.
ConsWhile everything else was great, the scent is so strong it gives me a headache. If you're sensitive to fragrances or dislike strong scents, you might not be able to use this. It has a somewhat herbal or woody smell that can be a bit overwhelming.
TipThis product works well as an exfoliating toner! I recommend buying empty toner pads and using it as a mask in the morning to reduce puffiness. It's perfect for that!

I've seen significant improvement in my blemishes through the 7-skin method before, so I've continued to apply two different toners two to three times even after my skin improved. The texture is just like water - it has no stickiness and absorbs instantly. Being water-like, I found it excellent for hydration and remarkably effective for soothing my skin.
ConsI'm quite sensitive to fragrances. While the texture and effects were fantastic, the scent was a bit overwhelming for me. It had a strong herbal or ginseng-like aroma, which is why I had to deduct one star. If you're not particularly sensitive to scents, I highly recommend giving this a try.
TipMy routine involves using an exfoliating toner, followed by layering two or three different toners, then applying a serum or essence, and finishing with a soothing or hydrating cream. I used to have severe acne and congested skin, but now my complexion is almost blemish-free. From my experience, I've found that thoroughly hydrating with toners seems to maximize the effectiveness of serums and essences. The Yeonjak Calming Toner works wonderfully both as an exfoliating toner and for layering - I'm really satisfied with its performance!

It absorbs well without sitting on top of the skin, making application a breeze. What I love even more is that it contains PHA, which is gentle on the skin and helps with dead skin cell care. This means I don't need to use any physical exfoliants - the toner is sufficient on its own, which is so convenient. It's said to be safe for super sensitive skin too, so I've been using it diligently with confidence. It seems great for calming the skin as well. I don't leave it on for too long, just a few minutes as a toner mask, and it works wonderfully for my skin.
ConsI haven't found any downsides while using this product - I'm really enjoying it!
TipUsing it as a toner mask is fantastic for calming the skin!

Even with just one application, there's no dryness or deep tightness. My skin became moisturized and soft. However, when I applied foundation after using just this, while my skin wasn't dry, it did seem to sit a bit on top of my skin... 2. The texture is completely watery. Maybe that's why it absorbs so well into the skin! The quantity was surprisingly generous, but because of the watery texture, I went through it quickly. I think I used it up even faster because I did a daily toner mask routine with cotton pads. 3. My skin did improve! The large blemishes and small bumps went away, and now only the marks remain! But I'm not sure if it's because I've been washing my face more thoroughly and frequently, or if it's because this toner is so good. Either way, my skin has improved and I'm really happy about it!
Cons1. The scent was really strange. It wasn't an artificial fragrance, but it smelled like grass or mugwort. When I'm doing a toner mask, the smell is unbearable.. I think it might be because I'm sensitive to scents. 2. Well.. it's surprisingly heavy? But not so heavy that you can't lift it. It's more like 'Oh, this is heavier than I expected'. To be honest, it didn't really bother me. I think it's the bottle that's heavy.
TipToner masks are amazing! But you do go through the product quickly.
