I discovered the Camellia Essence while dealing with numerous blemishes due to wearing masks! Absorption and application: Thumbs up! It's not a slightly thick formula, but rather a water-based one, so I applied it using a cotton pad. Overall, it absorbs well and applies smoothly. When applying, it feels adequately hydrating! I appreciated that it's fragrance-free. Although it was advertised as a firming product, the review deadline was too tight for me to truly assess its effectiveness for skin firmness. So disappointing! I think this should be used alongside a cream formula. Since it's water-based, there's a slight feeling of tightness after it absorbs. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2022
First off, I loved that it doesn't have any particular scent. This might be a personal preference, but I generally don't like artificial fragrances, so this was a plus for me. It has great 'absorbs' quality, gently adhering to the skin, and as someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found that it 'absorbs well' and quickly sinks into the skin. For an essence, the 'texture' isn't as bouncy as I'd like, which is a bit disappointing. However, I think some people might actually prefer this consistency. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2022
♥Scent♥ A subtle herbal or floral scent lingers. While it might be polarizing, I personally find natural fragrances quite agreeable. ♥Texture♥ It's lighter than an essence, more akin to a toner. Not quite watery, but has a slightly runny consistency. I've been using it like a skin toner since I recently had an MTS treatment, but it could work well as an exfoliating toner too. ♥Absorption♥ Probably due to its toner-like nature, it absorbs quickly. Once absorbed, it imparts a glow. Despite its runny texture, it gives a radiant finish like an essence. ♥Hydration♥ Moisturizing even with a single application. Unlike some toners that disappear instantly, this one leaves a lasting hydration after patting it in. I've been applying it 3 times both morning and evening for about 6 days, and the hydration seems to last. It stings if it gets in your eyes. Why does it burn slightly when it gets in the eyes? The ingredients are supposed to be gentle, so why does it irritate the eyes? Also, the packaging... You need to open the cap and pour it into your hand, but since it's closer to water than a runny consistency, it's prone to spilling. You need to be extra careful when using it. Apply 3 times in the morning and evening. Pat it in thoroughly. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2022
The scent is nearly undetectable, and I love the packaging. I thought it would be slightly sticky since it's called an essence, but it actually has a water toner texture. Despite being a water toner, it doesn't feel too light, making it perfect for fall and winter use. I have combination dehydrated skin that gets suddenly dry and prone to blemishes during seasonal changes and winter. This toner, though water-based, doesn't feel excessively light. It absorbs well without sitting on the skin, and I appreciate that it doesn't leave my face feeling tight. It's also great for layering, so I applied it again after my initial application. Perhaps because it's an anti-aging product, I felt a tingling sensation when applying the essence to areas with blemishes. Given its completely water-like texture, I also find the price a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 10, 2022
❗️For combination dehydrated skin❗️ ✅ Hydration 👍👍👍 Being in essence form, it provides better hydration than a regular toner. Unlike regular toners where moisture seems to evaporate quickly, this one feels like it stays on longer! ✅ Fragrance 👍👍👍👍 I dislike toners with strong scents, but this one isn't overpowering and is pleasantly mild. No major aversion to it. ✅ Absorption 👎👎👎👎👎 Is it supposed to feel this slippery, like applying soap? At first, I thought I received a defective product. It's even more slippery than using a cleansing water and even foams up... The slippery texture wasn't my style as I dislike such products. ✅ Effectiveness 👎👎 Honestly, as this was part of a testing program, I had to write a review in a short time frame. It was too brief to truly experience and feel its effectiveness. I wish I had more time to evaluate its benefits. ✅ Value for money 👎👎 The value for the amount you get doesn't seem particularly good. It's on the pricier side... I'd recommend purchasing it when it's on sale! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2022
✓ This is a brightening and anti-aging functional skincare product, but since I used it for too short a time to confirm its effects, I'll exclude that part from my review. 👍 It has a lightweight formula, with a watery essence texture similar to regular toners or skin. It was a decent product that worked well even for me, with acne-prone, combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness. 👍 It's fragrance-free, making it great for those sensitive to scents. 👍 While most functional skincare products feel heavy due to their nourishing properties, this one applies lightly and doesn't feel weighty, which I really liked. 🥲 This is both an advantage and a disadvantage... Although it's a functional skincare product, it didn't feel like it provided any nourishment at all. Most anti-aging products have a rich texture that feels sticky after absorption, giving a sense that they're staying on the skin. However, this product seemed to evaporate quickly without that effect. The problem is that it seems to evaporate the skin's surface moisture along with it, leading to severe deep dryness... 👉 Therefore, I'd recommend this to those with very oily skin who've wanted to use functional products but couldn't due to their heaviness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2022
Texture: It's as light as a water toner, flowing easily like water. I recommend using it with a cotton pad! Scent: I noticed a subtle woody scent, but it's so faint that even those who dislike fragrances should be fine with it. User experience: Initially, I tried to let it absorb directly into my skin, but its water-like consistency made it challenging. Next, I used it like an exfoliating toner. Not only did it even out my skin texture, but it also left my skin feeling hydrated even after wiping. Finally, I tried it as a toner mask. I was worried when I felt a slight warmth and tingling after a while, but there were no major blemishes. Instead, my skin felt deeply moisturized, which was great! It's not just hydrating; there's a hint of richness, but it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it greasy, making it feel fresh. Though it feels a bit wasteful, using it as a toner mask makes your makeup apply beautifully the next day! The price is a bit disappointing. It feels wasteful to use as a toner mask. It might be better used as an exfoliating toner or after one. Also, the slight richness might not be ideal for those with very oily skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 8, 2022
Scent: The fragrance is nearly unscented, making it easy to use without any discomfort. Hydration + Texture: It has a fluid texture similar to a toner. When first applied, it feels moisturizing, and as time passes, it seems to absorb into the skin with a plumping effect. Its lightweight application compared to traditional essences might be perfect for those who dislike heavier formulas. Quantity: Considering the price, the amount isn't particularly small, and it should last for quite a while. This product might be more suitable for combination dehydrated or oily skin types. For those with dry skin, it may feel a bit light. If you're looking for intense hydration, you might want to consider using additional products alongside this one. When I first used it, I felt a slight tingling sensation, but it didn't cause any blemishes or adverse reactions! In fact, it seemed to help calm redness. Tip: It's beneficial to apply the essence using a cotton pad, gently patting it along the skin's texture for better absorption.
