I started getting small blemishes near my temples that wouldn't go away, so I went to a skincare clinic for treatment. The specialist there told me that toner is crucial in the first step of skincare as it opens up the skin's hydration pathways. That's why I decided to try the d'Alba toner. First off, I really appreciated the simple ingredient list. Perhaps because of this, it feels gentle and perfect for the initial absorption step without any irritation.
ConsIt doesn't seem to be a toner that provides deep hydration. For someone like me, it's good for applying once in the first step to aid absorption in the next stages of skincare.
TipFor those of you who apply five or six layers of skincare due to dryness, instead of using similar textures for all steps, try varying the consistency from watery to thicker products. For example: water-based toner > slightly runny essence > gel-type essence > moisturizing cream to seal in the hydration. That's the way to do it!

It's an absolute holy grail product!
ConsIf I had to nitpick, the only downside is that the packaging is a bit too long, making it inconvenient to carry around. I have to decant it into a travel-sized bottle every time I go on a trip.

The lightweight formula makes it perfect for summer use. I've been using it every morning and night since I received it, and I can feel my skin becoming more supple. Since the toner is the only thing I changed in my routine, I believe this firmness is coming from this product. The scent isn't overwhelming, and the generous amount means I'll be able to use it for quite a while!
ConsI think it might be a bit too light for use during the dry winter months.
TipDue to its lightweight texture, it's great for skin packing or the '7-skin method' where you layer it multiple times for extra hydration!

But this Dalba toner, despite being watery, absorbs quickly without leaving my skin feeling dry. I'm really satisfied with it! It's hydrating and moisturizing while still feeling gentle. This toner might just convert me to prefer this water-like consistency. It strikes a perfect balance between hydration and oil control - it doesn't leave my skin parched, nor does it cause any deep dryness. Plus, it didn't cause any blemishes, and I absolutely love that it's free from strong fragrances. I think this could work well for me all year round.
ConsWhile I don't have any major complaints, it might be a bit light for winter use. However, since toner is just one step in a skincare routine, following up with an essence or serum should take care of any potential dryness.
TipFor best results, don't over-dry your face after cleansing. Instead, gently pat the toner into your skin while it's still slightly damp. This technique helps combat deep dryness and enhances absorption.

Although it's a watery toner, I was pleased that it didn't feel drying. You can feel the hydration, but it's not too rich, making it great for balancing oil and moisture. Despite its large volume, the slim bottle design offers a comfortable grip. The scent is nearly fragrance-free and gentle, making it perfect as a daily toner.
ConsApart from the packaging looking a bit outdated, I didn't find any particular drawbacks. It's a shame that the bottle design appears somewhat old-fashioned compared to its ingredients and performance.
TipThis hydrating watery toner has almost no sticky feeling, making it excellent for use as a toner pack. You can generously apply just the toner and finish with an essence for an effortless way to replenish moisture without overwhelming your skin.

I usually don't prefer toners with fragrance, so I was pleased that this one is unscented. The texture is slightly runny, but when applied with a cotton pad, it absorbs just right for an even application on the skin. It's absolutely gentle on the skin with no irritation whatsoever!
ConsI didn't notice my skin improving dramatically just from using this toner. Personally, I think it's unrealistic to expect significant results from a toner alone. After all, the basics are always the most important. I tried using it as a mask pack for about 3 days, but depending on the type of cotton pad you use, the toner can disappear quickly. So if you're planning to use it as a mask pack, choose your cotton pads wisely.

But the d'Alba toner is a game-changer! It's incredibly hydrating without feeling heavy, leaving my skin soft and supple. Even when I wake up in the morning, my skin still feels moisturized and smooth! Gentle Giant: Having super sensitive skin, I often react to new products with bumps and irritation. However, this toner only added hydration without any adverse effects. As a sensitive skin warrior, I can confidently say this product is incredibly gentle!
ConsThere's honestly nothing to dislike about this product! If I had to nitpick, I suppose the price point might be a bit high.

Great for smoothing skin texture and absorbs quickly! Despite this, I didn't feel any dryness. ▶️Experience With sensitive skin, changing products can often lead to breakouts, but this gentle formula actually helped calm my skin when needed :) Especially when used before makeup, it helped reduce skin heat! ▶️Other The packaging looks clean and luxurious, which made a great first impression! Its slim, straight design doesn't take up much space on the vanity!
Cons▶️While I personally didn't experience this, due to its light texture, I wonder if those with oily skin might find it a bit drying...? And a general thought about d'Alba products - the price is just a tad... steep.
TipFor evening skincare, I recommend patting it into your hands for absorption, and using it as an exfoliating toner before makeup.

However, this vegan toner from Dalba that I tried is incredibly hydrating and gentle, causing absolutely no irritation. The fragrance-free formula wasn't bothersome at all. I used it in various ways - as an exfoliating toner and just letting it absorb - and it worked well in all methods. It's truly versatile and easy to use. It absorbs quickly, so you don't get that lingering sticky feeling on your skin. The packaging is also quite luxurious, making it a great product to recommend to others. I'm really satisfied with how well it pairs with other emulsions or creams applied on top of it.
ConsThere wasn't anything particularly bad, but if I had to pick something, it might be that it's almost too mild? It's better for general use rather than expecting any specific functional benefits.

This review is based on my experience using the product for about a week as part of The Hwahae Testers program! ▶️ Extremely gentle With my sensitive skin, even one wrong product can cause redness and allergic reactions. However, after a week of use, I didn't get a single blemish. It might have even calmed my skin a bit? Due to the changing seasons, I had some rough patches on my forehead, but after I started using this toner, they noticeably subsided. ▶️ Lightweight and pleasant texture It worked well as an exfoliating toner, for absorption, and as a mask. When I used this product first before other skincare items, everything absorbed well without pilling. ▶️ Provides lasting hydration My skin has been quite dry lately, but this product seemed to provide just the right amount of moisture. I tried leaving just the toner on for about 30 minutes, and I didn't feel any tightness or dryness. That's why I find myself reaching for it every day. ▶️ Beautiful product design I always appreciate brands that put effort into their packaging. The design of this toner exudes d'Alba's signature luxurious image, which I absolutely love.
ConsWhile there are many great points as mentioned above, there are a few aspects that could be improved: ▶️ High price point As a college student, I find the current price quite burdensome to purchase with my own money. Since I only had about a week to try it, if you asked me if I'd stock up on it right now... well... I might consider buying it during a sale if I still love it after a month. ▶️ Somewhat ordinary I suppose the lack of any standout features could be considered a drawback? Of course, this might be true for other toners as well, but it's slightly disappointing. However, I'm really glad I found a product that doesn't cause blemishes! ▶️ Slightly lacking in richness While I could feel the hydration, it definitely seemed to lack richness. Those with dry skin might find it a bit drying. As winter approaches and skin gets even drier, I think this alone might not be enough. Of course, in summer, this would probably be perfectly sufficient on its own.
TipAfter cleansing, use it first as an exfoliating toner with a cotton pad to remove any residue. Or, you can soak a thin cotton pad generously and use it as a sheet mask. It's very versatile, so feel free to use it in whatever way works best for you.
