I'm using this as an exfoliating toner due to its water-like consistency. Being a vegan product, it's great for use without causing blemishes. When applied after cleansing, it effectively combats deep dryness without leaving the skin feeling parched. It's quite pricey for the amount you get, so it's best to purchase during sales. The runny consistency and the screw-top lid make it a bit inconvenient to use. - rl************Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedFeb 26, 2025
This is a water-based toner. I started getting small blemishes near my temples that wouldn't go away, so I went to a skincare clinic for treatment. The specialist there told me that toner is crucial in the first step of skincare as it opens up the skin's hydration pathways. That's why I decided to try the d'Alba toner. First off, I really appreciated the simple ingredient list. Perhaps because of this, it feels gentle and perfect for the initial absorption step without any irritation. It doesn't seem to be a toner that provides deep hydration. For someone like me, it's good for applying once in the first step to aid absorption in the next stages of skincare. For those of you who apply five or six layers of skincare due to dryness, instead of using similar textures for all steps, try varying the consistency from watery to thicker products. For example: water-based toner > slightly runny essence > gel-type essence > moisturizing cream to seal in the hydration. That's the way to do it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 22, 2024
It's really great to use when your skin lacks hydration. My skin usually feels tight after washing, but when I apply this right then, it becomes moisturized again. I always make sure to apply it before drying my hair too! I don't think it completely eliminates uneven skin texture. It might be because I haven't been consistent with it, but it seems like you won't see dramatic results unless you use it daily. Make sure to try using it before drying your hair! - ka********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 15, 2023
This toner is incredibly hydrating, gentle on the skin, absorbs well, and tackles deep dryness. It's an absolute holy grail product! If I had to nitpick, the only downside is that the packaging is a bit too long, making it inconvenient to carry around. I have to decant it into a travel-sized bottle every time I go on a trip. - kk********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedOct 10, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

The Mild Skin Balancing Vegan Toner I tried this time is a hydrating and soothing toner for sensitive skin. [Texture] It's a typical water-based toner. I used it by soaking a cotton pad and wiping my face. As it's designed for sensitive skin, it contains only gentle ingredients, and being a vegan toner gave me extra peace of mind. It absorbs quickly and provides quite good hydration for a water toner. [Packaging] I loved the elegant olive-colored packaging. Plus, unlike some water toners where it's hard to control the amount and you end up spilling everywhere, this product has a well-designed opening that makes it easy to dispense just the right amount. [Effectiveness] Thanks to its decent hydration, quick absorption, and good ingredients, I didn't experience any blemishes or issues. It's a solid, reliable product that's easy to use. [Scent] When choosing skincare, I often hope for no added fragrances but still expect a pleasant scent. Personally, I really enjoyed this product's aroma - it had a somewhat calming effect on me. [Price] The downside is that it's quite pricey, perhaps due to being a vegan toner. Also, being a water-based toner, it tends to get used up rather quickly. [Effectiveness] It's just a decent, reliable product, so I didn't notice any dramatic changes in my skin. - ck******Dry SkinRecommendedOct 6, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

The lightweight formula makes it perfect for summer use. I've been using it every morning and night since I received it, and I can feel my skin becoming more supple. Since the toner is the only thing I changed in my routine, I believe this firmness is coming from this product. The scent isn't overwhelming, and the generous amount means I'll be able to use it for quite a while! I think it might be a bit too light for use during the dry winter months. Due to its lightweight texture, it's great for skin packing or the '7-skin method' where you layer it multiple times for extra hydration! - so*****Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 2, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

I also appreciate that the Hwahae toner is fragrance-free, as I'm not fond of strong scents in toners. I've tried both letting the toner absorb on its own and using it as an exfoliating toner, but personally, I found that simply allowing it to absorb was more beneficial for my skin. It gave me a real sense of hydration. Like the Hwahae mist, their basic skincare line seems to have a solid foundation. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about this product. Hwahae is known for their excellent basic skincare line, and this toner didn't let me down - I'm quite satisfied with it. Occasionally, when my makeup doesn't sit well, I soak a cotton pad generously with this toner and use it as a mask. It helps to soothe my skin and provides moisture at the same time. - hj******Normal SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedOct 2, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

But this Dalba toner, despite being watery, absorbs quickly without leaving my skin feeling dry. I'm really satisfied with it! It's hydrating and moisturizing while still feeling gentle. This toner might just convert me to prefer this water-like consistency. It strikes a perfect balance between hydration and oil control - it doesn't leave my skin parched, nor does it cause any deep dryness. Plus, it didn't cause any blemishes, and I absolutely love that it's free from strong fragrances. I think this could work well for me all year round. While I don't have any major complaints, it might be a bit light for winter use. However, since toner is just one step in a skincare routine, following up with an essence or serum should take care of any potential dryness. For best results, don't over-dry your face after cleansing. Instead, gently pat the toner into your skin while it's still slightly damp. This technique helps combat deep dryness and enhances absorption. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 1, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Here's how I used it: First, I applied it to a cotton pad and used it as an exfoliating toner. Then, I gently patted it onto my skin as an essence. To be honest, I didn't find anything particularly remarkable or disappointing about it. However, it did a decent job of refining my skin texture. The product's strength seems to lie in its lack of major drawbacks or disappointments. Sadly, for a while after using this product, I experienced quite a few blemishes on my skin. However, after an adjustment period of about 3-4 days, my skin returned to normal and is now doing fine! - pz***Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 1, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Although it's a watery toner, I was pleased that it didn't feel drying. You can feel the hydration, but it's not too rich, making it great for balancing oil and moisture. Despite its large volume, the slim bottle design offers a comfortable grip. The scent is nearly fragrance-free and gentle, making it perfect as a daily toner. Apart from the packaging looking a bit outdated, I didn't find any particular drawbacks. It's a shame that the bottle design appears somewhat old-fashioned compared to its ingredients and performance. This hydrating watery toner has almost no sticky feeling, making it excellent for use as a toner pack. You can generously apply just the toner and finish with an essence for an effortless way to replenish moisture without overwhelming your skin.
