The one downside is that it pills when I apply sunscreen. With moisturizing sunscreens, it sometimes rolls off like eraser dust. Although it faded after about 10 minutes, I think consistent use would help with hydration. I'm not sure about its brightening effects - I'm already fair-skinned, and I haven't used it long enough to have high expectations for that.
