True to its high-performance nature, this product delivers noticeably effective brightening results. It can be irritating, causing redness and bumps on freshly shaved areas when applied in the morning after shaving. I used it only in the evenings, 2-3 times a week, depending on my skin's condition. - ah*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 28, 2025
It's not bad for the price. There's some mild irritation, but it's still okay. I can't really think of any downsides, but there's nothing particularly great about it either... While this product doesn't seem to have any major flaws, it also doesn't stand out in any particular way. It offers decent value for money and is generally tolerable for the skin, despite some potential for mild irritation. However, it lacks any noteworthy benefits that would make it a must-have item in your skincare routine. - ra*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 24, 2025
After using it for about a month, I can definitely feel that my complexion has visibly brightened. *Absorption The texture is quite runny, so you need to cup it in your hand and apply it quickly. *Hydration Rather than providing hydration, it feels more like an oil barrier, so it should be used to lock in moisture. *Rich feel It has an oily texture, so I wouldn't recommend it to those who dislike this type of formula. If applied before toner, it can prevent the toner from absorbing properly. It's best to apply this after cleansing and using all your water-based toners. The scent is very strong, with a vitamin smell that lasts all day. For those sensitive to fragrances... but if you can tolerate it, it really does brighten your complexion! There also seems to be an issue with the container leaking. The dropper might be faulty as it's difficult to draw up the product at first. Shaking the product before use helps it come up better. This might be due to the oil content. I apply water-based toner and hydrating essence first, then the vitamin serum, followed by a nourishing serum. Initially, I applied it right after cleansing, but found that water-based products didn't absorb well afterwards. The 13% concentration is gentle, but as I have super sensitive skin, I felt a slight irritation. Applying it after toner works better for me. I plan to try the 23% concentration next. - sk*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 17, 2025
This serum is truly amazing! As someone with super sensitive skin and dry skin, I've finally found my holy grail. I keep repurchasing it because it works so well for me. The bottle is quite small and I seem to go through it rather quickly. Also, it's extremely runny, so it tends to drip. You really need to be careful with how much you dispense. - gj*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 17, 2025
I'm using this product to help my skin adjust before starting the Vitamin 23 Serum. While there's a slight stickiness, it's less tacky than the 23 Serum and absorbs really well. With consistent use, I've noticed my complexion looks more even, which I'm really happy about. That's why I keep reaching for this product. I plan to keep using it regularly in the future. As expected, it does have that characteristic vitamin scent and a bit of stickiness. - dl**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 16, 2025
I decided to try this product after hearing that applying vitamin C directly to the skin can help improve blemishes and complexion. I've used retinol before, which is similar, but it seemed to darken my skin tone and cause breakouts, making me think vitamins weren't for me. However, this one is actually quite nice! As someone with super sensitive skin that reacts to even slightly unfavorable ingredients, I'm most impressed by how non-irritating it is. For those with sensitive skin, I'd recommend starting with a lower concentration product like this one before moving on to higher concentrations like 23%. I couldn't get spots or freckles removed due to the hot weather, so this was my next best option - I'm looking forward to seeing the results! The stickiness is a major drawback. As someone with combination dehydrated skin that's quite oily, it's difficult to use on days when I go out in this weather. On days when you have blemishes or your skin is acting up, it's better to take a break or apply it while avoiding those areas. Refrigeration is essential, and sunscreen is a must when going outside! Application order: 1. Low pH foam cleanser (If using an alkaline foam cleanser, follow with a low pH toner) 2. Vitamin C serum (leave for at least 15 minutes to absorb) Important: 1-2 drops in the morning or skip / 3-4 drops in the evening 3. Hyaluronic acid ampoule; moisturizer I've heard that adding hydration after applying vitamin C can enhance its effectiveness, so I wait until it's fully absorbed before lightly layering on a small amount of ampoule. If it feels too sticky, you can gently blot areas like the nose with oil blotting paper. I haven't been using it long enough to notice significant changes, but I'm hoping to see some positive effects, even if they're small. - ha*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedJun 12, 2025
Pretty decent... For a vitamin ampoule, it didn't cause any blemishes Some people say it doesn't suit them, but I didn't experience anything like that And the absorption! While some say pure vitamin products don't apply well, in my opinion, it wasn't that bad Just pat it in gently and follow up with a cream for better results, right? I haven't seen dramatic effects yet...! I'm writing this review when I'm almost done with the bottle To be honest, even lasers struggle to improve dark spots, so what can we expect? Wondering if I should buy two more bottles and keep using it? Haven't seen any significant results so far But I wouldn't go as far as to not recommend it I guess that's just how these things are... Haha, brightening effects Are always quite subtle, aren't they? I keep it in the refrigerator I don't apply it during the day, just use it for nighttime skincare It works even better when used with Retinol! - wk*******Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 7, 2025
For oily skin, 13 is less sticky and more comfortable to use. While 23 has better ingredients than 13, those who prefer a moisturizing collagen-like feel should opt for 23. The numbers 13 and 23 likely refer to different shades or formulations of a cosmetic product, possibly a foundation or BB cream. The review compares these two options for different skin types and preferences. - eh*******Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJun 6, 2025
When I apply my skincare routine diligently before bed and finish with this vitamin serum, my skin feels hydrated and my complexion looks a bit brighter the next morning! It gives a sense of refining the skin texture too! Since I have thin skin, I felt a slight tingling sensation, but it wasn't a major issue. Storing it in the refrigerator is great for preservation and allows you to use it for a longer time! - wj********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 4, 2025
I have acne scars on my cheeks, tend to experience skin flushing, and my complexion is around shade 22-23. The Scent: When you first open the product, there's a slight "pop" sound, which is normal! For the first 1-2 weeks of use, there's a bit of a pungent scent. However, this is due to the ingredients and gradually fades over time. The Color: Initially, it has a slightly yellowish tint and appears clear overall. As you use it, it seems to oxidize and gradually turns more yellow. That's why vitamin products typically have about a month of effectiveness after opening. Skin Sensitivity: It's very gentle! Even when applied on days when my skin is super sensitive, it doesn't cause any burning sensation or redness. I switched from using No. 23 to No. 13 after hearing that No. 23 doesn't fully absorb into the skin. After using it for nearly a month, I can say there's not much difference between the two. Results: There's hardly any brightening effect (I've used at least 3 bottles of both No. 23 and No. 13). However, it truly smooths out skin texture and creates a luminous glow. It makes your skin look absolutely beautiful! There's not really anything to complain about. If I had to pick something, maybe the initial scent when you first start using it? The Hwahae Testers would likely appreciate this detailed review, especially the insights on absorption and the long-term effects on skin texture. The mention of the product's gentle nature even on super sensitive skin days is particularly valuable information for those with blemish-prone or reactive skin types. The observation about the oxidation process and its impact on color could be helpful for managing expectations about the product's appearance over time.
