During this time, my skin was in bad shape due to fine dust... So my mother and I used it together. * I'll update this review after continued use, on Sunday (5/7), and after a month of use. 1. Minimal irritation. - Despite my skin being in poor condition, it causes minimal irritation. I can't say it doesn't tingle at all, but this might vary depending on your skin's condition. 2. Moisturizing yet initially oily, but ultimately leaves skin hydrated. - It's moisturizing, but feels a bit oily when first applied. Surprisingly, once it settles on the skin, it leaves a hydrated finish. You'll understand what I mean when you try it! My mother and I used it together (she used it for a week), and it felt oily when dispensed onto our hands. But once applied to the face, it felt great! No oiliness at all! 3. Improves skin texture. - As mentioned earlier, despite my skin being in poor condition, my skin texture improved. While there weren't dramatic changes, my skin feels more refined. You don't necessarily need an exfoliating toner; this essence works well too! Since I have sensitive skin, I prefer this essence to an exfoliating toner... It gives my skin a glow! 4. Not as drying as expected. Quite moisturizing. - I'm not sure how it would perform in winter, but it's moisturizing in the current weather. You don't need any other essence; just layer a cream on top and you're good to go.
Cons1. As mentioned above, while it causes minimal irritation, there's still a slight tingling sensation. - This might vary depending on your skin condition. 2. One layer is enough + Better to apply at night - I tried layering it 2-3 times and then applied an emulsion (The Simple Cynic) and cream (Atobarrier 365), but it pilled up like dead skin. So, I recommend applying just one layer, preferably at night. If you layer multiple products during the day, it might pill and look unsightly.
TipDepending on your skin condition, it causes minimal irritation and refines skin texture. It seems to work well even without being an exfoliating toner. I recommend applying it at night since layering multiple products during the day might cause pilling!

It feels slightly slippery but absorbs into the skin. I've been using it consistently as an exfoliating toner. I noticed my slight dark spots seemed to lighten a bit. It seems to work better when used in the evening. I've been struggling with hyperpigmentation, and after getting used to it, I think it's good enough that I want to try the ampoule too.
ConsI experienced some minor blemishes. I tend to have sensitive skin, and this is a typical reaction I get during the adjustment period when using whitening or vitamin C products. If not applied correctly in the morning with sunscreen, it can cause foundation to pill.
TipIn the evening, I use it as an exfoliating toner, followed by other skincare steps. During the day, it can pill if not applied correctly. I only use it during the day when I'm not wearing much makeup. With consistent use, your skin becomes brighter. When using it before makeup, make sure it's fully absorbed before moving on to the next step. That should work fine.

Texture The texture is pleasantly smooth without being overly slick. It's fantastic for exfoliating with a cotton pad - it glides over the skin without any irritation! Don't worry though, the gentle texture doesn't compromise its exfoliating power. It removes dead skin cells effectively yet gently. 2. Gentleness I was initially concerned about using an AHA exfoliating toner on my super sensitive skin. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle it is, especially for a product containing exfoliating ingredients. The smooth texture definitely contributes to its gentleness.
Cons1. Unremarkable To be honest, I didn't notice any significant exfoliation or soothing effects. The overall experience was just... average. On the bright side, it didn't cause any blemishes or redness. It's not a complete drawback, but it feels like just another exfoliating toner - nothing more, nothing less. I'm not sure if it's worth the price. 2. Pilling Issues This isn't about the toner pilling, but rather an odd effect I experienced. When I use products with AHA, instead of gradually exfoliating, it seems to cause dead skin cells to ball up later during my skincare routine. I had a similar experience with an AHA body emulsion years ago, which I had to stop using. While it's easier to manage with a facial toner - you can simply rinse or wipe it off - it's still inconvenient. I was hoping to use this as an alternative to the Mamonde PHA Liquid Mask, which I was considering buying for my combination dehydrated skin during the changing seasons. But now, I think I'll just go ahead and purchase the Mamonde product instead.

Advantages: First, the scent is nearly undetectable. When you need to apply toner twice a day or more, a strong fragrance can be off-putting. This product feels almost scentless, making it comfortable and easy to use. I've heard that added fragrances aren't great for the skin either! Second, it's not sticky at all. Interestingly, while it's close to a water-like texture, it's not exactly like water. It's definitely not a runny consistency. As someone with oily skin who really dislikes sticky feelings, I was very satisfied with this product. Third, it absorbs well. I layered it multiple times, and it felt moisturizing with good absorption, so I applied it two or three times repeatedly. The hydration is excellent.
ConsAfter using it for a few days, my skin suddenly felt tingly. When I checked, I noticed dead skin cells forming all over and my skin had become red. There was so much dead skin that it would come off like dirt when I rubbed my face while washing. It felt like I had a sunburn after being out on a hot day. After taking a break from the toner for about two days, it calmed down a bit. I'm wondering if the problem was that I layered it too much, even though it's meant for exfoliation. I'm planning to try using it differently next time. I'll leave another review later!

As the seasons change, my skin gets even drier, and the areas around my eyes and mouth become more sensitive and prone to redness. I consider toner the most crucial step in my skincare routine, so I was intrigued by all the hype surrounding the Dictionist toner. It's not quite a watery toner, but it's also not a thick, essence-like toner. It's described as a hydrating toner that enhances skin texture, so I thought it might focus on moisturizing. However, it wasn't as hydrating as I expected. I think it would suit most skin types well, except for very dry skin. I also saw reviews mentioning an oily feel, but I didn't experience that at all, which I appreciated. It felt more like a toner that prioritizes hydration. I liked that it was fragrance-free and came in a transparent bottle, making it easy to see how much product is left.
ConsThe disappointing aspects... As someone with sensitive and dry skin, I didn't find this toner particularly hydrating. In fact, I feel that Abib's Heartleaf toner, despite being more watery, is more moisturizing. Also, when I applied essence and cream after using this toner, there was a slight pilling effect. I can't use too much of it, but if I use too little, my skin feels desert-dry. As a result, I only use it before bed. For me, it feels quite drying, so I won't be repurchasing it. The product was advertised as hydrating, but I found it neither moisturizing nor did it seem to help my skin recover. It's really disappointing. For the same price, I think it would be better to buy a different product.
