I have sensitive skin, but I was able to use this without any blemishes. I've used the pink and blue versions multiple times, and I've tried samples of the other colors too. When I bought it for my mom and tried it briefly myself, I found this product to be the gentlest with a pleasant scent. After I finish my current blue one, I'm planning to switch to this product and keep using it! This product just comes with a lone spatula... It's always inconvenient to use, haha! I gently massage it with dry hands, then follow up with a low pH cleansing foam. - gy****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 30, 2024
I didn't experience any blemishes. After using the green one, I bought this thinking it would be gentler, but I'm not sure. I switched from the toner to this emulsion. There's a spatula included, but nowhere to store it. At first, I kept it in the paper box, but after using it for a while, I just leave it in the container and close it. You can store the spatula in the container while using the product. - hm*******Normal SkinOct 22, 2024
The cleansing power is incredible! Even on rushed days, it removes mascara effortlessly. It wipes away makeup so well! As I'm nearly finishing the bottle... suddenly my skin has completely broken out. Those with sensitive skin should probably avoid this product. - oo******Combination SkinEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 5, 2024
I've tried both the green and pink versions. I bought this one thinking it might be gentler. The green had stronger cleansing power but left my skin feeling a bit tight. This product removes makeup well, and among similar cleansing balms, it's the least drying on my skin. Among the similar cleansing balms from Banila Co., this one is on the pricier side. Save the eye area for last when cleansing. - le*******Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 19, 2024
It's a staple in my routine! No irritation, and there's such a satisfying feeling when it dissolves sebum. It removes makeup effectively and leaves no residue after cleansing. There are no downsides. I'm using it well and plan to repurchase when I finish this one. - db*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJan 23, 2024
Thanks to the ceramides, my skin felt moisturized after cleansing, and the cleansing effectiveness was quite good While it did leave my skin hydrated, I unfortunately developed some small blemishes after using it - hj******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedDec 3, 2023
- Eco-friendly packaging with biodegradable box, container, and spatula. (I'd love an expert to confirm if all the ingredients are biodegradable too!) - As someone who's been loyal to cleansing oils for over a decade, I bought this product to support Banila Co's environmental efforts. - I tested it with concealer, and it removed makeup effectively while cleansing pores as well as an oil cleanser. - It's harder to rinse off compared to cleansing oils. The slippery residue lingers much longer. (This is why I switched back to cleansing oils after trying Banila Co's original and The Face Shop's products before.) A second cleanse seems necessary, and even then, a gentle cleanser might not be enough. - While the ingredients seem fine, my face developed slight redness and tingling in spots. Perhaps from prolonged rinsing? It did calm down after applying my skincare routine. - The text on the box and container is too small! I knew the product details from online research, but my mom in her 50s can't read it at all. The white text color doesn't help either. I wish they'd focus on user-friendliness as much as environmental protection. It would be fantastic if small plastic items like spatulas and toner pad tweezers, which are often not recyclable, could all be made from biodegradable materials. I hope other brands follow Banila Co's lead in this! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsSep 18, 2023
The cleansing effectiveness is so impressive that you might not even need a second cleanse. It's absolutely gentle on the eyes - doesn't cause any tingling sensation at all! While it doesn't sting if it gets in your eyes, it's a bit unsettling how it temporarily blurs your vision. It's like becoming a seeing-blind person for a moment! But more concerning is how it really irritates my skin. Especially on delicate areas like around the eyes, it causes a burning sensation, roughness, and dryness. It even worsens dark circles and causes a major dead skin cells situation under the eyes. I'm truly disappointed considering how much I paid for this. I really wish I had bought a smaller size to test it out first before investing in the larger one. - su*********Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 25, 2023
The texture is like a balm with a hint of sorbet, and it glides smoothly when scooped with the spatula. This was my first time trying a cleansing balm, and it was truly revolutionary... absolutely mind-blowing! I had always thought cleansing balms would be greasy and heavy, so I avoided them until now. But this one isn't greasy at all, and it melts makeup so effectively that a second cleanse isn't even necessary. It's incredible! The finish is non-slippery and refreshing, which I loved. There was absolutely no irritation or deep dryness after cleansing. The product comes with the cleansing balm itself and a spatula. The volume isn't small either, so it should last quite a while. I'm extremely satisfied with this product... I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. Now I understand why people rave about the Banila Co cleansing balm. It's fantastic! I think anyone with dry or oily skin will be satisfied using this. Highly recommended! Everything's great, but there's no designated spot for the spatula, so you have to just place it on top of the lid. You can adjust the amount you use depending on how much makeup you're wearing that day! - dk******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 5, 2023
I wondered why this seemingly inconvenient cleansing balm was so popular, but now I get it. It removes everything while leaving your skin hydrated. It's moisturizing without feeling greasy, and leaves you feeling refreshed. You could even skip your second cleanse. As someone whose skin usually reacts badly to cleansers or breaks out when makeup isn't removed properly, I had zero blemishes with this. A love-hate relationship with this jar packaging... If you lose the spatula, you're in trouble
