I loved how it provided good coverage while applying thinly. No pilling either! It seemed to darken my skin a bit, and the yellow undertone made my face look slightly sallow. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 3, 2023
I usually prefer a matte finish and don't often use glowy cushions, but even I found this one comfortable to use! Right after application, it surprisingly felt powdery, and after a few hours, it gave a subtle glow. Plus, the cushion design itself is absolutely gorgeous. I always get a mood boost when the packaging is pretty, and this cushion case is both sleek and beautiful! As someone who mainly uses pink-based products, I found the color to be on the yellow side! It would be fantastic if they released a pink-based version too. I apply it with a makeup spatula first, then blend with the included puff. It goes on thinly and creates a beautiful complexion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 3, 2023
* This review is based on using the product for 10 days. Skin type: Redness + Super sensitive skin Shade 17, Cool tone Packaging: Ivory-colored glossy case Slightly angled design Puff: Pleasantly bouncy texture Teardrop shape is great for covering nose and under-eye areas, with excellent adherence. I found out it has a 4-layer structure: Ruby cell - Sponge - Adhesive film - Ruby cell. The adhesive film seems to help it apply evenly. Color: I have fair skin with redness. I usually use shade 17 for base makeup, but when I applied Hince shade 21, it didn't make my face look darker. Texture: True to its 'glow cushion' name, it has a hydrating formula perfect for fall or winter. It gives a natural radiance when applied. Coverage: It does conceal redness, but the coverage isn't exceptional. You might need a concealer for more noticeable blemishes. While it's fine for my skin which has some redness, the color itself seems to have a slightly yellow base. While writing this review, I discovered it's a vegan-certified product! Vegan certification involves a rigorous process, so it feels trustworthy to use. ++++Update I'm still using it, and now that I don't have any blemishes, it makes my skin look absolutely beautiful. When I first started using this product, I had some minor breakouts, but now it seems my skin has fully adapted. There are no new blemishes, and my complexion looks amazing! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 2, 2023
For combination to oily skin / Blemish-prone skin with redness Set with powder after application * Scent * Lacks the artificial floral scent typical of drugstore brands Not unscented, but subtle enough not to be bothersome * Skin Appearance * Suitable for combination to oily skin Less dewy than expected = semi-glow finish >> After 5 hours: Oil doesn't separate, blends well with skin's natural oils Doesn't break down messily * Adherence * Distributes evenly on skin without sitting on top Applies thinly Adheres well even with quick application * Coverage * Conceals redness on flushed skin Blemishes aren't completely hidden but only slightly visible Pore coverage isn't perfect but decent Doesn't accentuate skin texture >> After 5 hours: Minimal settling into fine lines and around nose * Irritation and Blemishes * No redness or new blemishes appeared the next day after using with regular skincare routine * Skin Appearance * Slight settling into fine lines and around nose Very slight yellow tinge when oxidizing * Adherence * Transfers significantly when touching face with fingers Lacks staying power even over time * Hydration * Causes deep dryness Recommended for oily and combination skin Setting with powder improves longevity and controls oil - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 25, 2023
I gave it 4 stars, though it's more like 3.8. Skin type: Dry with oily T-zone. Cushion shade: Still figuring it out... I used to prefer 17-19 pink base as 13 Porcelain looked like I wasn't wearing makeup, 21 Yellow Beige made me look sicker, and 21 Pink Beige was either too dark or too similar to my natural complexion. Now, in the COVID era, I'm searching for a cushion that matches my skin tone as even my usual ones don't seem to fit anymore. Though it's called 'Glow', this cushion feels more semi-matte when applied. However, it doesn't cause deep dryness or feel dehydrating. (For reference, the Neo Cushion Matte made my face look parched and felt increasingly dry over time, despite feeling quite moisturizing during application.) Skin finish: As it applies semi-matte, don't expect an ultra-dewy look. It allows a subtle hint of your skincare glow to peek through. Pore coverage is pretty good! While it doesn't completely erase them, it doesn't accentuate them like some matte cushions do (looking at you, Neo Matte). Mask transfer: Right after application, it's likely to transfer significantly. However, after about two hours or if applied very lightly, transfer is minimal (some coverage remains even after removing the mask). If you don't have dry skin, try using the included puff instead of a brush, pressing it into the skin around the face perimeter and cheeks to minimize transfer. As someone with dry skin who's been using dewy cushions (Clio Mesh Glow, Peripera Glow Cushion, PONY EFFECT Glow Stay, etc.), I was frustrated with how mask-wearing left my makeup patchy. This cushion, however, offers a subtle glow/shimmer with good adherence, which I find most satisfying. While I haven't tested it in sweaty, heated conditions, I'm quite satisfied so far. One downside is the color. It's a true yellow base, which can make you look sallow and unhealthy right after application, even if you chose a shade darker than your skin tone. However, after about three hours, it seems to develop a pink undertone, improving the overall look. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this to those seeking a pure pink base due to its yellow-leaning shade. The price is a bit high. Even with discounts, the full-size refill set is 54,000 won. Also, it seems refills aren't available for lighter shades. While it's recommended to apply in thin layers, be careful not to use too little product. If the cushion puff doesn't pick up enough of the formula's oil and moisture, it can apply dryly. For a more hydrating application, press the puff firmly once and use that amount to cover your face. I've included comparison swatches below for reference, focusing on yellow-base options (hince, PONY EFFECT Glow Stay 00, Peripera 01, B.glow New Class Vanilla, Neo Matte 21N). (Note: PONY EFFECT and Peripera have more of a peachy tone.) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 25, 2023
I have combination dehydrated skin with oily tendencies, shade 17. The cushion case design is simple and clean, making a great first impression. It's also lightweight, so it's easy to carry in my bag. The formula has a good consistency, making it easy for beginners to control the amount. The glow isn't overwhelming, and it's not difficult to apply, making it a generally user-friendly cushion. Even after setting with powder and wearing it all day, it doesn't feel tight or heavy, so I didn't feel uncomfortable throughout the day. For combination dehydrated skin, it doesn't feel excessively oily, but when touching it with the back of my hand or going about daily activities, hair can stick to it and there's a slight stickiness, so I still needed to set it with powder. I usually finish with powder except in the dead of winter, so it wasn't a big issue for me! Also, sometimes when applying powder over a moisturizing cushion base, it can cake up, but that didn't happen at all with the Hince product. While it didn't particularly emphasize pores or dead skin cells, the nose area did get a bit bumpy right after application. I was able to fix this by gently pressing with a concealer brush dipped in the cushion. Due to my wide nose bridge and deep-set features, finishing with just the puff had its limitations. Despite having redness that usually requires a yellow-based product to cover, I was surprised by how strongly yellow this base was. It neutralized a bit when blended out, but it's definitely more yellow-based than other brands' yellow-based products (the color comparison photo with other brands might help you understand). The coverage is light, so redness and flushing still show through, but on the flip side, this allows for a natural, non-cakey skin look. While the darkening isn't severe, it is noticeable to some extent. The biggest disappointment, in my opinion, is that a refill isn't included in the basic package, although it's sold separately. For a shade 21, it doesn't come across as extremely dark, but it's not particularly brightening either. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 24, 2023
I'd like to introduce this as a #oily skin #beautiful glow #touch-up #semi-matte cushion! The feel is closer to semi-matte than glowy, as the cushion name suggests. I tried it alternately for morning makeup and evening touch-ups, and I found it great for touch-ups! I think it's because when you first apply it, the glow is pretty and blends well with the skin's natural oils. When used in the morning, you can see dry areas cracking as it breaks down, and the color seemed to turn yellowish on my skin, so I only reached for it for touch-ups. For the color, I usually use 21 Neutral or Pink tone base, and Hince cushion 21 seems to be a brighter 21. (I regularly use Espoir Be Glow Ivory) Compared to Espoir Ivory, it has a more whitish tone! The coverage seems to be medium. My skin condition isn't great due to the changing seasons, but it somewhat covers dark gray blemish scars, though it doesn't satisfactorily cover newly emerging red blemishes. After wearing the cushion for a long time, it turns yellowish on me, which is disappointing. I like the glow, but... that's why I'm using it diligently for touch-ups. I took a photo after touching up with the Hince cushion after dinner and coming home a few hours later. I might look worn out, but check out that pretty glow on my forehead and cheekbones! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 23, 2023
1. Scent: I liked that it doesn't have a powdery smell or any fragrance that's irritating to the nose. 2. Texture: I was worried about trying a glow formula for the first time, but it felt slightly more moisturizing than my usual semi-matte texture, which was nice. 3. Wear: I used it with powder, so the longevity wasn't bad. It didn't break down messily, but it also didn't fade gracefully. 4. Touch-ups: The formula tends to build up a bit, but the glow cushion is definitely better for touch-ups. 5. Coverage: While it doesn't cover all blemishes, it did a great job concealing redness around the nose and flushing. Recommended for: Those who want to try a semi-glow cushion, and those with warm undertones. 1. Once it settles, it's okay, but there's a yellow tinge. Even though I usually use shade 21 in cushions, this felt slightly dark. Using a tinted powder helped. 2. You should expect it to transfer onto your mask. It has a slight yellow undertone, so I recommend it for those with warm complexions. If you have a cool undertone, you can easily neutralize the yellowness by using a color corrector or color base alongside it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 23, 2023
The skin finish is absolutely gorgeous! This is my second cushion after Amuse, and I fell in love with the beautiful packaging that feels like a gift. There's no emphasis on pores or caking at all. However, there is one crucial flaw... a disappointing aspect. But that's my personal issue. While Amuse felt moisturizing when applied but quickly dried out on the surface, making my skin feel like it was rejecting the product, this one spreads smoothly with a slight tackiness. It adheres well to the skin, and after cleansing, there's no residue or tightness. Even after 21 days, I didn't experience any blemishes. If only the skin tone match had been right, this could have been my holy grail cushion! The base is too yellow... I never really understood what people meant by pink base versus yellow base, but now I definitely get it. For me, it's too dark and dull yellow, which is really disappointing... For those who use Amuse shade 1, this 21 shade is definitely not the same. It's much lighter, so please make sure to check the shade in person before purchasing! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 21, 2023
✓ Thin base, easy to control amount I prefer building up thin layers for my base, so I usually press the puff onto the cushion and use the excess for the first layer. This cushion is so natural that you don't need to tap it separately - the amount control is great! ✓ Natural skin finish that wears beautifully The skin finish is really natural, which I love. Even after going out on a super hot day, it wore down gracefully without any patchiness. ✓ True to Hince, the cushion design is trendy and pretty! The puff has a cloud-like, fluffy feel, but with a pointed tip that's perfect for precise application in areas like around the nose. ✓ Seems to lack adherence, prone to transfer Because it's a glow formula, it doesn't offer much coverage! ✓ Despite the glow, can feel dry underneath I expected it to be moisturizing since it's a glow formula, but there's more deep dryness than I thought. ✓ Shade 21 is yellower than other reviews suggest, lacking the bright look of pink-based or ivory tones. I'd recommend going one shade lighter. Not sure if it's darkening or just wearing down naturally, but it seemed to get slightly darker over time. ✓ As natural as it is, the coverage is lacking I'd suggest buying one shade lighter than your usual for a brighter look. Recommended for those who prefer a natural skin finish. Since it has a yellow base, using it with a slightly lighter concealer could add coverage and brightness for an even prettier look.
