I've been consistently purchasing this product since last fall. My mom once bought a cheap hair dye from a discount store and ended up with an itchy scalp and hair loss. After that, I spent some time researching hair dyes with good ingredients. I came across Seedbee, which has almost no harsh chemicals, comes in a generous amount, and seemed reasonably priced, so I decided to give it a try. Usually, when my mom dyes her hair herself, she struggles to reach the back of her head thoroughly, so she mainly focuses on the visible front parts. This time, I offered to do it for her. The kit comes with all the basic essentials. While there wasn't a separate brush, the container is designed conveniently so that once you mix the contents with water and shake it up, you can apply it directly to the hair. I just put on latex gloves and applied it with my hands. Worried about potential patchiness if there was too much time difference between applications, I carefully squeezed out just enough product to cover the hair without dripping. I quickly spread it evenly with my hands, and the color turned out beautifully even without any patches. Since the dye only contains the coloring agent and water, even if there are any chemicals, they're minimal - less than 1%. This meant we didn't have to worry about scalp irritation or hair loss. My mom was absolutely thrilled with the results, which made me happy too. What I loved most was that it had absolutely no smell! With no odor and virtually no harsh chemicals, this hair dye is perfect for those with sensitive scalps or older folks with delicate skin. I initially bought just one to try it out, but my mom said we should stick with Seedbee from now on. That's how satisfied she was with this product! I'm completely satisfied with the amount, ingredients, and price point, so there's nothing to complain about. It hardly produces any waste, there's no headache-inducing smell - it's simply the best! - ss******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 5, 2025
As someone with a lot of gray hair, coloring is a must for me. I was on the hunt for a gentle product when I came across Seedbee's water-based hair color. First off, it's a breath of fresh air - no harsh chemical smell typically associated with hair dyes. The powder-based colorant is mixed with water instead of a developer, which makes the application process a cool and comfortable experience for your scalp. No tingling or burning sensation at all! The Medium Brown shade gives the most natural-looking result in my opinion. There is some color wash-out when shampooing for the first few days after dyeing, which is why I'm deducting one star. The product comes with a shaker bottle for mixing the powder with water, but it's practically useless. No matter how much you shake it, the mixture doesn't blend well and ends up lumpy. It's far easier to just mix it in a regular dye bowl with water. After mixing with water, let it sit for about 10 minutes. This allows the powder to absorb the water and dissolve properly. The resulting mixture is much easier to apply and work with. - yu******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 27, 2025
First off, being a vegan product mixed with water, it feels gentle and non-irritating on the scalp. The hair dye shaker included makes it easy to mix, and the color applies well. The medium brown shade looks the most natural and closest to my natural hair color. There's some color bleeding for a few days after dyeing. You might want to avoid using white towels as they could get stained. - hy****Normal SkinRecommendedApr 14, 2025
The gentle hair dye doesn't have a strong scent and doesn't damage my hair texture At first, I was satisfied because there was no irritation, no smell, and my hair felt soft. However, after using it for a while, I've noticed some slight itching - hm****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 15, 2024
The color takes well, it's gentle on the scalp, and I didn't experience any hair loss. With regular hair dyes, I used to lose a lot of hair when washing after coloring, but with this water-based dye, there's no shedding. I was shocked because even though I chose medium brown, it came out almost black! - ma****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 9, 2024
Hwahae recommends this product as it's free from ammonia and other harmful ingredients. It's also easy to use. I've been using this for about two years. At first, it was fine, but recently my scalp became unbearably itchy, so I had to stop. I'm puzzled why my scalp is itchy when it's supposed to be free of harmful ingredients. Also, the perm doesn't take. The hairstylist said it's because of the water-based dye. - ma*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedAug 8, 2024
There's absolutely no ammonia smell typical of hair dyes. I have super sensitive skin that reacts even to salon dyes, but this one doesn't bother me at all, so I keep using it exclusively. The color turns out darker than expected. It takes a while to apply, and even with a 30-minute processing time, it only lightly colors completely white hair. Even when it does color more deeply, it fades faster than regular dyes. When washing your hair, you'll see brown water running off for about 2-3 days. While results may vary, this seems like a great choice for those with sensitive skin. One packet is enough for short hair when doing a root touch-up. - mi******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 9, 2024
I was looking for henna and asked at Olive Young. They recommended this one for its good ingredients. For my first time dyeing, it turned out pretty well. It's supposed to be medium brown, but why does it look like black bean sauce color? Is it because of the hot weather? Or because I applied it late? (It took me 30 minutes to apply it due to my clumsy hands). Maybe it's because I used 2 packs on my medium-length layered bob? Worried it might turn pitch black, I rinsed it off after just 10 minutes, but it still came out a deep, almost black brown. Well... I miss my lost light brown hair, but at least they say it's good for you. - mi*****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 23, 2024
The color takes beautifully, and the best part is how it leaves your hair feeling like you've just had a salon treatment - soft, shiny, and your scalp feels refreshed too! The color tends to fade rather quickly, so you need to touch it up more frequently than you might like. - 31******Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityDead Skin CellsRecommendedAug 1, 2023
I was able to easily dye my hair at home without the typical harsh chemical smell of hair dye or any irritation to my scalp! It's great not just for covering grays, but also for all-over color. I was surprised to find that even though I chose medium brown, the color turned out much darker than expected. For best results, add water to the container first, then mix in the powder - it blends much more smoothly this way!
