It's a struggle! I had always heard that slightly acidic products were best for the skin, so I'd been using low pH cleansing foams. However, I constantly felt like oil and impurities weren't being thoroughly removed from my face. After trying the Point-N Cleansing Foam as part of The Hwahae Testers program, I had an epiphany - oily skin types actually benefit from mildly alkaline cleansers! This gently alkaline formula effectively cleansed away impurities and excess sebum without disrupting my skin's pH balance. The rich, creamy lather with fine bubbles provided a deep cleanse, penetrating into each pore. (Even though the photo is a bit blurry, you can see how the foam gets into every nook and cranny!) I also appreciated the mild ingredients and the subtle, pleasant lemon scent that wasn't overpowering at all. The price point is fantastic too - just over $20 for two 200g tubes! It's so affordable, making it easy to incorporate into my daily skincare routine without breaking the bank.
ConsThe only minor drawback is that the thick, creamy texture means you need to squeeze the tube with a bit of force to dispense the product. But that's really the only issue I encountered!

The scent was pleasant and didn't bother me at all! I found it to be a solid choice as I didn't experience any blemishes or negative effects while using it. It's a reliable product overall.
ConsThe texture is a bit thick, which made it slightly inconvenient when trying to work up a lather. Other than that, I didn't encounter any particular issues while using it.
TipFor a really refreshing cleanse, use plenty of water to work up a rich lather!

As a Hwahae Tester, I'll be completely honest. My skin tends to be quite oily when I wake up, especially in the T-zone - nose, forehead, and cheeks. I've heard that alkaline foam cleansers are crucial for oily skin, which is why I applied for this product test. I was thrilled to be selected! Plus, it's from the same brand as the cleansing tissues my sister with amazing skin uses, so that gave me confidence. Now, let me list the pros: 1. Being mildly alkaline, it doesn't cause excessive tightness and leaves skin feeling fresh. As the product description states, it makes your skin feel matte on the outside while keeping it hydrated underneath. I was pleasantly surprised. My previous alkaline cleanser left my skin feeling too squeaky clean, which worried me. This one, however, doesn't make my skin feel tight at all, considering its alkaline nature. While I wouldn't say it's moisturizing, there's absolutely no uncomfortable tightness. 2. It lathers well. I didn't expect much foam given its clay-like texture, but with a foam net, it creates a rich, creamy lather. You don't need much product to get a good foam. This was an unexpected plus. The rich lather cleanses effectively without causing any deep dryness. 3. It has great cleansing power. Being alkaline, it naturally cleanses better than the popular low pH cleansers. Since it's mildly alkaline, those with very oily skin might even use it in the morning. I have moderately oily skin, so I use it at night and a low pH cleanser in the morning. It doesn't stress my skin barrier, which is great. It seems to have all the benefits of being mildly alkaline. 4. It's not irritating. I have sensitive skin that often reacts badly to new products, but not with this one. While foam cleansers are generally less likely to cause reactions, I'm impressed by how gentle yet deeply cleansing this is. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Although I haven't used it for long, first impressions are important. I'd give it 5 stars, but since I haven't seen improvement in blackheads yet (probably due to the short usage time), I'll give it 4 stars. Giving 5 might make this seem like an ad anyway. Personally, I'm extremely satisfied - I'd give it 4.9 stars if I could. If it starts improving my blackheads, I'll definitely repurchase and write another review!
ConsWhile there aren't many cons, nothing's perfect, right? 1. The texture is quite thick, almost clay-like. It might be hard to rinse off if you're just using your hands. A foam net solves this, but if you don't have one, this could be a drawback. 2. The scent is unique. It's a mix of clay, herbal, and slightly chemical notes. While it doesn't cause irritation, those sensitive to fragrances might want to keep this in mind. 3. It doesn't seem to have a dramatic effect on blackheads. While it probably works better than low pH cleansers due to its stronger cleansing power, it doesn't deliver the dramatic blackhead removal the product description suggests. Still, it fulfills its role as an alkaline foam cleanser well. 4. The packaging isn't eco-friendly. This isn't really about the product itself, I'm just mentioning it because I ran out of cons to list!
TipUse a foam net for the best results. If you want that 'matte outside, hydrated inside' feeling the product description mentions, it's the way to go!
