I've used about 4 bottles of Aesop shampoo, and it always makes me feel great every time I use it. It's not too harsh, has good cleansing effectiveness, and smells wonderful! The downside is the price... it's expensive. The bottle size is on the smaller side. Highly recommended for teenagers with oily scalps or those with naturally oily hair. It really strips away scalp oil after use. Also great for teens dealing with blemishes due to excess oil. Your scalp stays oil-free until evening! There's a treatment from the same Aesop line, but personally, I'd recommend using this Aesop shampoo paired with a more nourishing treatment or conditioner from another brand. After about 6 months of use, I noticed my oiliness had reduced significantly, but my hair felt a bit dry, so I'd cautiously suggest alternating with a regular shampoo. For those struggling with oily hair or scalp odor, try this combination: this shampoo + Yves Rocher hair vinegar + scalp toner. Even in the evening, you might catch a whiff of subtle herbal scent from your scalp. It's fantastic for my oily scalp, completely removing excess oil. The effect lasts quite well, delaying the return of oiliness. It doesn't lather much, so you end up using more product. I used to flinch when my husband came to smell my hair, but now I'm confident! There's no scalp odor, and it feels fresh, so I've been using it consistently. Life gets busy, and I often skip conditioner, but this shampoo doesn't provide enough softness to skip it entirely. I use a treatment 1-2 times a week. My daughter, who has color-treated hair, uses a separate conditioner daily. Still, we're both very satisfied as it makes our hair feel healthier. I even bought it for my mom who struggles with hair loss, and she says her hair is falling out less and her scalp is less itchy. In my opinion, it's a bit pricey. First off, it looks beautiful in the bathroom and has a lovely scent. It lathers well and rinses out easily. I've tried all the Aesop shampoo lines, and it seems unavoidable that your hair feels stiff after washing. This shampoo excels in cleansing effectiveness, fragrance, and hair texture - it's got it all! However, as winter approached, I noticed more static and stiffness, so I switched to a different shampoo. But nothing else was as satisfying as this one. I'm planning to repurchase it soon. If you're torn between Aesop shampoo and the Equalizing shampoo, and you have an oily scalp, I absolutely recommend the Equalizing one! While it does make your hair soft, the strong cleansing power can inevitably leave it a bit stiff, so I recommend using it in combination with a conditioner! The scent is quite strong, which might be hit or miss for some people. It's a pleasant fragrance though, so I suggest smelling it at the store before choosing. As someone who loves intense scents, I found it absolutely delightful!

When it comes to Aesop, it's all about the scent - so healing. The strong cleansing power could be seen as a drawback in some ways. The price-to-performance ratio is quite low, but we're soothed by the emotional appeal of the packaging. Give it a try. Highly recommended for oily skin. For pre-wash, use a cheaper option to remove excess oil, then use this as your main shampoo. It's pricey after all.
