The oil provided excellent hydration, and its scent was uniquely refreshing - like natural mint from the wilderness. The mint fragrance is quite potent, so it might not be suitable for those who are sensitive to mint scents. - bt*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 10, 2025
It's fantastic for releasing tension in tight trapezius muscles. It feels even more effective, and I love the improved scent. I tend to misplace the lid easily. Also, it's a bit disappointing considering the price. - aa*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 23, 2025
Pros: - Texture & Hydration: My face is oily but my body is extremely dry. In winter, even emulsions cause intense itching. This year, I decided to try an oil and chose this body oil after comparing products on Hwahae. As it's my first time using oils, I prioritized hydration but didn't want something too sticky. I tested it at Olive Young and was pleasantly surprised by its lightness. It's a light oil that provides adequate moisture, suitable for both winter and summer use. - Application: There's a noticeable difference between applying it on dry skin versus slightly damp skin. It spreads much better on damp skin. For those with very dry skin, I recommend layering an emulsion on top for double the hydration. - Scent: It's a blend of leafy and minty notes, but not overly woody or neutral. It's quite universally appealing. Both a pro and a con - this product feels perfect for summer use. The scent, combined with an emulsion, creates an incredibly cooling sensation that's almost chilling. Definitely reserve this for summer use! Cons: - Longevity: Due to its light texture, it doesn't last extremely long. In mid-winter, using the oil plus a body emulsion lasts about 10 hours (considering my extremely dry skin). For those with normal skin, the oil alone should be sufficient. - Quantity & Price: The amount seems a bit small for the price. It's best to wait for Olive Young sales. - After-effects: The mint ingredient creates a cooling sensation that can be too intense, especially in colder weather. After using it a few times, I've decided it's not suitable for the current season and plan to purchase a different scent. - ir******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 15, 2025
After using this with gua sha post-shower, my skin felt softer and firmer. Thanks to the peppermint and eucalyptus oils, there's a cool, refreshing sensation that lasts during the massage, which also seemed to help relieve fatigue. It absorbs well, leaving the skin feeling fresh without any stickiness. Possibly due to the peppermint ingredient, it might cause a slight burning sensation on sensitive areas. Also, the glass container requires careful handling during use, and the strong scent might not be to everyone's liking. The aromatic oil scent helps with full-body relaxation before bedtime - dn**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 7, 2025
I used this effectively for leg gua sha massage. It has a pleasant scent. Just be mindful of controlling the amount you use. Any downsides? None really. Just be careful since it's in a glass container. - ks******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 10, 2025
My honest review of a product I bought with my own money: I'm a big fan of the Aromatica brand, and it all started with their shampoo and hair tonic. Once I tried them, I was hooked! I thought, 'If they have such great hair products, they must have body oil too,' and sure enough, they did! Although it wasn't tea tree, I figured peppermint would be just as refreshing, so I decided to give it a try. Many people think body oil is only for dry winters, but did you know you can use it in summer too? After a sweaty summer day, there's nothing better than taking a refreshing shower and then applying this oil to sore or tense areas, followed by some gua sha massage. It's absolute bliss! The peppermint ingredient cools your entire body, making you feel even better than after a spa treatment. Add a wooden gua sha tool, and you're in heaven. They also have other types of oils suitable for winter use. What's more, Aromatica is registered as a Vegan Society partner and practices sustainable development by recycling plastic containers and selling refill products, all in an effort to protect the environment. Why not relieve your daily stress with this natural body oil and gua sha, while making a conscious consumer choice? Body Oil Pros: 1. Unlike other oils, it gives a cooling sensation like tiger balm (effective on sore or tense areas). Heavenly when used with gua sha. 2. Doesn't leave your skin feeling too sticky, keeping you feeling fresh. 3. Can be used in summer. 4. Made with natural ingredients for gentle use. The peppermint and eucalyptus scents lift your mood. 5. Refill products available after use. Feels good to support a brand that cares for the environment. Body Oil Cons: 1. The glass container requires careful handling to avoid breakage. 2. The cooling sensation from the peppermint/eucalyptus oil might not be for everyone. Repurchase Rating (out of 5 stars): 5 stars The glass container requires careful handling to avoid breakage (though it is quite sturdy). Use it with a gua sha tool for best results! - gu*********Oily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedAug 26, 2024
It feels so refreshingly cool, I love it! At first application, I was like 'Huh? What's this?' But after a short while, a wave of coolness washes over you - it's fantastic! It would be even better and more convenient if it came with a pump dispenser. The current packaging has a nice aesthetic, but it's a bit lacking in terms of practicality... - sj*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedAug 10, 2024
✔ Scent: The peppermint aroma is stronger than eucalyptus! I love that the pleasant fragrance offers an aromatherapy effect as well. ✔ Cooling effect: Interestingly, some days it's so cool it chills me to the bone, while other days there's no cooling effect at all. I've tried everything to figure out why - using less, using more, sitting in front of a fan - but I still can't pinpoint the difference. ✔ Hydration: This is my first time using a body oil, and it leaves my skin feeling wonderfully soft! However, for optimal hydration, it's best to combine it with a body emulsion. Using it alone doesn't quite provide enough moisture. ✔ I wish this came with a pump dispenser. The oil drips down the opening, making it difficult to keep clean. It seems to apply better and provide a stronger cooling effect when used on damp skin. - gp*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 16, 2024
It feels refreshingly cool when applied! This is an excellent body oil for summer use. Rather than a body oil for full-body application, it's more suitable as a mood-lifting oil for occasional use. - or***Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedJul 4, 2024
I absolutely adore Aromatherapy and tend to buy all their new releases. I especially love oils and often purchase eye-catching new products from various brands, applying them to my body or hair depending on my mood. I originally ordered this because eucalyptus is my favorite aroma, and I thought it would pair well with peppermint. The name is so intuitive, it really hit the nail on the head! 'Awakening' is truly spot-on. I applied it after a sauna session, and it brought tension to my relaxed body. Particularly, my intimate areas were quite surprised - I wish I hadn't known that would happen, or I wouldn't have applied it so thoroughly there! This seems perfect for summer mornings when you want to feel awakened before heading to work. As an oil enthusiast who collects oils wherever I travel around the world, I'm thoroughly satisfied with the price, quantity, and effectiveness of this product.
