Leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed.
ConsThe strong artificial fragrance is overpowering, and the consistency is so thin it runs off, making it inconvenient to use.

When there was a free shipping deal, I decided to try their cleansing oil too! It has great cleansing effectiveness and does a good job removing blackheads and sebum. I also loved that it doesn't leave much residue on the skin.
ConsIt's a bit runny, so it tends to drip. And the scent... or fragrance... Those two aspects were slightly disappointing.
TipSince it doesn't leave much residue, those with dry skin don't necessarily need to follow up with a foam cleanser. You can finish your routine by gently pressing and wiping with a toner pad instead.

When applied to the skin and massaged, it has excellent cleansing effectiveness for makeup and effectively removes sebum. As I have dry skin, I only use oil cleansers twice a week, but this one does a great job of removing sebum for the whole week with just those two uses.
ConsThere's nothing particularly disappointing about it. Similar to other oils, if you don't wipe the pump well after dispensing, the oil can drip and accumulate at the base of the bottle.

However, with the Rice Makgeolli Cleansing Oil, I haven't experienced any of these issues. (I've been using it for a week now) - Due to my sensitivity to skin irritation, I usually only apply a hydrating cream and sunscreen after skincare before heading to work. When I cleanse, this oil removes the sunscreen completely. I'll need to use it more to see its effects on blackheads!
ConsPerhaps due to the rice makgeolli fermentation, there's a noticeable fermented (alcoholic) scent. It's fine once you rinse it off though. The oil tends to drip easily, so be careful when using it.
TipApply to dry skin and massage! Pay extra attention to the nose and eye areas. Rinse with lukewarm water, then finish with a splash of cold water.

Compared to other cleansing oils, it doesn't have any standout features. I've been trying to think of something good to say, but I'm drawing a blank - there are only disappointments to report.
Cons1. Texture: The consistency is quite thin and runny. It drips down to my arms while I'm massaging it in, and there's noticeable friction that makes it more irritating than other oils. As a result, I end up using a lot more product each time. 2. Scent: I'm usually not picky about fragrances and can tolerate most, but this one is really off-putting. Some reviews mention it smells like rice wine, but I wouldn't say that exactly. Still, I really dislike it and wonder why they chose such an unpleasant scent. 3. Blackheads & Sebum: It's mediocre at best. While it's better than using nothing for blackhead removal, don't expect any dramatic results. It does somewhat smooth out the bumpy texture on my chin, but it doesn't feel like it's thoroughly cleansing. 4. Blemishes: My skin isn't typically sensitive, but I do have hormone-related breakouts. Unfortunately, this testing period coincided with one of those times, and it seemed worse than usual. I developed what looked like folliculitis all over my face - there wasn't a smooth patch to be found when cleansing. I suspect my skin didn't agree with the fermented ingredients. I might give it another try when my skin calms down and my hormones balance out.

It has adequate cleansing effectiveness, and I didn't experience significant deep dryness after washing. I'm not a fan of products made solely with natural oils, so I appreciated that this one had a balanced blend.
ConsThe scent has a peculiar fermented smell that's a bit off-putting. The texture is slightly runny; I'd prefer a firmer consistency. While the cleansing effectiveness was adequate for me, it wasn't particularly impressive.

I always do a double cleanse, even when I only wear sunscreen, as I apply 1-2 layers of mineral sunscreen. Since I'm only removing sunscreen, it's hard to visually confirm if it's completely removed. However, after cleansing with this product, I've never experienced that typical tight feeling associated with sunscreen residue. After cleansing with this product, blackheads and whiteheads seem to surface slightly. For those who find pore strips too harsh, you could try cleansing with this oil and then gently wiping away the surfaced impurities with a cotton pad. This could be a good routine for consistent pore care. When using only this product to cleanse, the finish feels slightly slippery. Dry skin types might appreciate this moisturizing feel, but I personally felt it wasn't thoroughly cleansed, so I always followed up with a second cleanse. Overall, it's a decent, no-frills cleansing oil without any major drawbacks.
ConsThe product is described as 'rice makgeolli', and perhaps because of this, it has a distinct sour smell typical of fermented products. While the scent doesn't linger after rinsing, it's quite strong during the cleansing process. I'm not sure if it's just the bottle I received, but every time I pump, the cleansing oil seeps out around the pump mechanism. After a few days of use, oil drips down and makes the bottle quite messy. I'm unsure if it's due to my skin's current condition or incompatibility with the product, but after using this cleansing oil, despite thorough rinsing, I experienced a sudden outbreak of 3-4 blemishes typical of excess oil production.

It emulsifies well, and I felt it was decent at removing sebum too. ✓ Gentle formula It seems to be quite mild, so it doesn't cause any blemishes. When removing eye and lip makeup, it doesn't sting the eyes or leave an overly bitter taste.
Cons✓ Scent When I first smelled it, I thought 'What is this...?' It's like a fermented vinegar smell. However, after using it for a few days, I did get used to it. ✓ Texture In my opinion, it feels thinner than other cleansing oils. It tends to run down my hands and arms while massaging, which I found a bit inconvenient.
