The color range is around 20 shades, so it's quite bright! The internal cushion is made of a firm, elastic material, and the case is lovely^_^ It's a moisturizing cushion with an essence-like feel, and the coverage is quite good! So when you apply it, a subtle glow comes through beautifully. Especially, there's no pore clogging or around the nose, so the skin expression looks particularly lovely!! Overall, it's a well-balanced cushion. The color was relatively bright for me, but the adhesion was somewhat lacking. Additionally, the puff size was unusually smaller, which caused a slight discomfort. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 8, 2025
Texture - ★★★★☆ (4/5) The semi-matte formula adheres moistly at first, then sets to a soft, powdery finish! I loved how it clung to the skin without any patchiness, creating a smooth, even application. For drier areas, applying thin layers works beautifully for a more polished look. Longevity - ★★★★★ (5/5) This foundation barely budges over time, and when it does fade, it does so gracefully without looking messy. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I was really impressed that it stayed flawless until the afternoon without any touch-ups. Oxidation - ★★★★☆ (4/5) There was a slight deepening of tone after extended wear, but it remained natural-looking without turning dull. The minimal oxidation made it suitable even for summer use. Color - ★★★★☆ (4/5) The light beige tone leans neutral to cool, perfect for summer cool-toned skin! It has just the right amount of brightness without being overly pink, naturally evening out the complexion. If you prefer a bright, radiant base, you'll be pleased with this. Coverage - ★★★★☆ (4/5) With medium coverage, it naturally conceals redness and blemishes. It adheres thinly while noticeably evening out the skin tone, making the complexion look clearer with just one layer. You can achieve a flawless base even without concealer. The puff is a bit firm, so be careful with product amount control when first using it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 16, 2025
I have a challenging skin type - combination, sensitive, prone to occasional redness, periodic folliculitis, and peach fuzz. I'm the type who scrutinizes every ingredient when buying cushions or foundations. After careful consideration, I had been using Estée Lauder foundation for a year. However, it started to flake in winter... Estée Lauder seems more suitable for summer and autumn. I also tried the Hera Black Cushion and absolutely loved it, but one specific ingredient caused my skin to react badly. It became a forgotten item in my drawer. Later, I found out quite a few people had similar reactions to that ingredient (and here I thought it was just me). Since then, I've been avoiding all foundations, cushions, and brightening moisturizers with that ingredient. Anyway, after searching for days for a semi-matte cushion, I found YSL! It was the only high-end cushion without that problematic ingredient for me, so I decided to give it a try. Oh wow, I'm absolutely thrilled with it! This might become my holy grail cushion. I'm so happy to have finally found a cushion that perfectly suits my challenging skin type. No darkening No emphasizing dead skin cells No settling into nose creases No settling into fine lines No breakdown It's incredible. I thought only Estée Lauder could satisfy all these criteria, but YSL has done it! It even has a cooling effect when applied, and the moisturizing texture is fantastic. The adherence was slightly disappointing. After 8 hours of facing both cold and hot winds, while there was no breakdown, it did transfer a bit when I lightly touched my face. This was a minor letdown, but overall, I'm still very pleased with the product. Also, the puff size is ridiculously small. It's so tiny, it can barely fit two fingers! For those struggling with shade selection, here's a little tip... I chose the lightest shade, 10, but it wasn't extremely light! I use: Espoir Be Glow Cushion in 21 Hera Black Cushion in 17 NEOS (Mint) Cushion in 13 Giverny Foundation in 17 Estée Lauder Foundation in 1C1 (Cool Bone) All of these were about half a shade lighter than my skin tone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 22, 2024
As someone who uses shade 17, I loved how this cushion has a pink base and applies thinly with great adherence! While it's not extremely hydrating, it's not matte either, striking a nice balance that keeps your skin comfortably moisturized without feeling dry. I also appreciated how it fades evenly, making touch-ups a breeze! The puff is a bit on the small side, which can be slightly inconvenient. Also, the coverage isn't particularly high, so if you're looking for more coverage, you might need to use a concealer as well! Since this isn't a high-coverage formula, I'd recommend either building up the cushion in areas where you want more coverage or using a concealer for those spots. That should give you the finish you're looking for! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 8, 2024
After trying Shu Uemura foundation, Lancôme cushion, Dior cushion, Dior foundation, and even Chanel cushion, I couldn't find anything that worked for me. That's when I turned to YSL. I don't wear makeup often, but I'm now on my third YSL cushion. Unless you have a particularly dull complexion, the YSL cushion can cover everything. There's no foundation or cushion with better ingredients than this one. After scouring Hwahae, you'll eventually settle on YSL. It feels like it runs out quickly... The product absorbed by the sponge seems to disappear from the center rapidly, leaving most of it gathered around the edges. If you're between shades 21-22, go for shade 10. Shade 20 doesn't really look like you're wearing makeup.
