I've been using this product since I was a student, for almost 10 years now. It's a true love item for me. When I use this and then apply mascara, it doesn't smear or droop, so I've been using it consistently from my single days to my married life now. If your mascara tends to smear or droop over time, be sure to use this product first, then apply your mascara. I highly recommend it.
Cons

Applying this over black mascara will turn any mascara into a powerful waterproof state and maintain the curl well. Since all waterproof mascaras tend to smear on my eyes, this is an essential item for me.
Cons
If you don't control the application well, it can appear semi-transparent and whitish like dried glue. I've even tried the newer black-tinted fixers, but they still ended up smearing on me in the end. So I've ultimately returned to using this fixer.
Tip
Proper application is key. If you keep applying it without seeing it on your lashes, it can turn whitish. Just lightly sweep it on once or twice and stop. When using it over black mascara, make sure that mascara is completely dry first to prevent smearing.

It's great that the curling lasts until the evening when I apply it in the morning! My eyes don't feel irritated either.

The fact that it can get a bit dry and white if you apply too much? But it's fine since I'll be putting on black mascara on top anyway.
